Common Questions and Answers about Adhd los angeles

Avatar n tn You'll end up tarring all your hair out with the frustration they put you through. At least, that's how it was for me in Los Angeles. I'm also over 25. If you are under 25, or have other psychological issues you may be able to get the proscription. It depends on three things: 1 your age 2 your location 3 what type of health care program your on (if any) But generally you can't.
9003081 tn?1401130098 That's what I had to do. I live in Los Angeles and got medicaid after the expansion but it doesn't cover my adderall because I am 27. It's not as expensive as it seems. The inital consultation was the biggest expense ($280). But after that my follow up appointments only cost $100 (every other month). With adderall the pharmacy charges the same price per pill regardless of the dose. So, I have my doctor write proscriptions for 2x the dose and cut them in half.
7882607 tn?1395042047 I had the same problem a few months ago in Los Angeles. It took 3 weeks for me to find them. Yes, the shortages will continue. Don't try the online Pharmacy. Most are scams.

Avatar f tn Hello. I believe that Children's Hospital in Los Angeles (next to Hollywood) will see any child despite type of insurance. Does she have a PPO/HMO type MediCal? Have you tried contacting them yet? Is LLU Loma Linda? I see you are asking on the MS forum now too. I'll catch up with you there.
Avatar m tn sorry It was Los Angeles that I moved from to small town Ohio. Now the schools is LA where not very hard to get help with, but I had to have all my own testing done with Dr Fishler from Hollywood children's hosp. My oldest has ADHD and dyslexia. And was then able to force the school to help.
Avatar m tn The Mental Health here in Los Angeles refused to see me when I went there. They told me that they wouldn't see adult patients who's only mental health problem was ADD/ADHD. You gave me a very good idea of what I need to do next. When I have my appointment with the Medicaid Dr, I need him to give me a referral to a in network Medicaid Psychiatrist. And then I need to have the Psychiatrist call in the authorization for me.

Avatar f tn Mark Kleiman, a public policy professor at the University of California-Los Angeles who has studied promising methods of controlling crime, suggests that because criminologists are basically sociologists, they look for sociological explanations, not medical ones. My own sense is that interest groups probably play a crucial role: Political conservatives want to blame the social upheaval of the '60s for the rise in crime that followed.

Avatar n tn In my research I discovered the SKULL BASED BRAIN INSTITUTE in Los Angeles, California. I called and spoke with them and had all of my records transferred and have gone through my consultation and am scheduled for surgery on December 18, 2014. I encourage all of you with symptoms to disregard your doctors inactivity/dismissals and become an advocate for yourself!
Avatar n tn I think the issue is what exactly the area one is hoping the Milk Thistle will help. Since this is an HCV Forum I suppose it is natural one might wonder if Milk Thistle would be to aid with the virus. Or reducing liver enzymes. Here is one that says concluded higher than customary doses of silymarin did not significantly reduce serum ALT levels more than placebo in participants with chronic HCV infection unsuccessfully treated with interferon-based therapy. http://jama.jamanetwork.
Avatar m tn So, that's precisely when the test lady started to ask me a series of questions to figure out some sort of ridiculously long question, you know the kind where Frank gets on an almost full train in Chicago, Elmer gets on in Los Angeles, George and Gina get off in New Orleans, so how many people are on the train? HAHAHA. Well, at that point, I drew a complete blank, and just threw up my hands and did not even try to answer.
Avatar f tn ) SO, if any one can give me help finding a doctor in Los Angeles who will deal w/ FREE T-3 and FREE T-4, I would be so very appreciative. I am currently relying on my pcp and my own wits. I have a multi-nodular goiter, which has gotten slightly smaller with medication. I am due for a new ultrasound in the spring. My anti-body tests are negative, but my sister has Hashi's.
Avatar n tn They have ranged from inability to focus, hyperactivity, aggression, preference of being around adults instead of children and so on. The first thought was ADHD...but after two years of working hard with him...ADHD does not seem to fit. I have researched anxiety disorders, dyslexia, oppositional defiant disorder, autism and so on. Nothing seems to fit just right. So here is what we are currently facing... At home my son has improved tremendously.
Avatar m tn It does occur to me to see what all of our locations are. I saw someone was in California, I am also in CA in Los Angeles. It may help narrow down an allergy. Also, has anyone tried acupuncture?
Avatar n tn By the way, I live in East Los Angeles where there is very little evidence of Lyme disease. All it takes is one little bug that picked up the bacteria from a rodent to bite you and inject the bacteria into your blood. A good refrence website is There is a Lyme disease support meeting at Whittier Presbyterian Hospital, Calif. Sept 9th at 1:00pm in Room F. I wish us all good luck and may God Bless.....
429949 tn?1224695179 After several weeks in St Johns Medical Center, Santa Monica, CA, I was finally transferred to UCLA, Roland Reagan Medical Center in Los Angeles. My team of doctors lead by Dr John Stearn at UCLA diagnosed my condition as ADEM. I had several issues along the way from starting out with severe headaches to passing out, ending up in a seizure, then an induced "coma" for 4 1/2 days. No body at St Johns had an idea what was my issue.

Avatar n tn but the best thing for the fatigue by far is Consortea (an ADHD drug) I split a 36 mg 4 ways and take every 4 hrs. I also take 1/2 darvacet several times a day and 5mg prednisone. And champage seems to really help with the depression (thank god I am SVR) - but yes I do feel worse then pre-tx physically but not mentally...I am so glad it is gone! I'd like to know more about the needles (Karen) - where do you get them? how much etc.
Avatar n tn I get it at China Town here in Los Angeles, and for a month I made and drank a tea everyday. Kidney yin deficiency can have many symptoms including lower back pain which I have had for a decade now. As you all know your kidney and liver are the primary organs for removing toxins from your body. If you have access to good Chinese herbal doctors, it is better to consult one to see if you suffer from such yin-yang imbalances, rather than self-diagnosing or self-medicating.
Avatar n tn Until now, I feel like I never wanted to aceept that I have a disorder. I recently this year was diagnosed with adult adhd. And I was put on a 20mg a day dose of adderal. I'm not sure thats made a difference with the picking, although great for my adhd. So it def gose in spurts, sometimes I have nothing and others like now, my head is covered in scabs. I believe I do have some sort of ecsema or phoriosis, Because my ears are always dry and scabby.
Avatar n tn A good Rhumatologist can help BUT he must be a specialist in Fibro. Dr Daniel Wallace in los angeles is a good choice. J) a hot bath or tub about 1 or 2 hours before bed time, ( and the sex!) will help relax you. I am free of fibro now but i had it before and a compounding factor was sleep apnea. That got resolved too.
Avatar n tn Is there something we all have in common that could be causing our problem? I'm 29, married, and live in Los Angeles.
