Avatar f tn NAtural friuts, plenty of yogurt to keep GI out of distress. and if possible avoid drinking tap water and go to only natural spring water - try to stay way from any floride and bleach on any water. Boost Omega 3 and 6 Vit B6 and 12 and 750- 1000 Vit C. Potatoes are good- cut sodium intake to no more than 1250. (That's stuff now a days) It is not a diet - it is a life style change. Hypo T will clog heart arteries and increase cholestrol levels. You want to maintain a healthy life style.
Avatar n tn Is there a recommended diet for someone in his position or foods to avoid, all they told him was not to eat too much meat and avoid Tylenol, alcohol. They were very vague and he is in a great deal of pain. The lining of his stomach was damaged from drinking. Can you recommend a book or some advice, we would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

1063764 tn?1272821064 I have read many things on different foods to avoid, such as broccoli, peaches, brussel sprouts, etc. I don't COMPLETELY stray from them, but if I have them it's very rare. I was just curious as to what I should do/eat before I have these tests redone, so there aren't any false results. I do not want to be put on a higher dosage of medication that I don't need. Thanks for any help.

1813627 tn?1337722375 ve always tried to make my diet, especially in the first 6 wks quite bland, as some babies have an immiture gut and it can cause pset tummies, so I try to avoid all gassy foods like peas, caulifalour baked beans etc, also alot of fruit or juice can cause upset tummies in newborns, as can lots of sweet things, doesnt leave too much lol, but try and have lots of salads etc, and drink plenty of water, my rule of thumb is each time I put bub to breast I have 1 large glass of water per feed, as water

Avatar f tn There's a nasty little amino acid out there called tyramine. It's in a LOT of foods, at different intensities, that's a HUGE trigger for me. Chocolate, red grapes and wines, cheeses, yeasty breads, and a bunch of other foods have high tyramine levels. What I did many years ago was Google "low tyramine diet" and go on an elimination diet where I didn't eat any of the foods listed. It was hard to find stuff to eat for a while until I learned how to think low tyramine.

Avatar f tn ve read on the internet, in books, and on my prescription bottle even for my Levothyroxine, as to foods to avoid. My sister has Hashimotos and saw a doctor that said it didn't matter what she ate since she has Hashimoto's. What is your opinion on this? No soy, or walnuts or other foods??
Avatar f tn Years ago I was sent to a dietitian due to MSK and the kidney stones. I was told to limit salt to 2000mg and avoid purines and oxalates. The foods you listed were on the oxalate list. Gravies and liver are all I can remember that were on the purine list, but there were a lot more. I can't drink ANY alcohol anymore without severe kidney pain. I used to have a couple of wine coolers once or twice a year, but I can't even tolerate one anymore.
Avatar n tn You may have had a problem finding medical resources concerning foods and changes in behaviour only because there have been no concise scientific correlations between different foods and ADHD , Up to this point . Studies are still going on , as many families who have children with ADHD sware their children are affected by one type of food or another. Examples include sugars , aspartame , food coloring and food additives .
