SINCE WE KNOW THAT THE CYSTS ARE NOT THE CAUSE OF THE SEIZURES, IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE CYST BE THE CAUSE OF THE ADHD? I DONT KNOW THE EXACT NAME OF THE CYST NOR THE LOCATION OF THE CYST. Avatar n tn While some physicians diagnosis on the basis of a quick interview, and some use symptom checklists, the most responsible way to determine if a child has ADHD is to refer him for psychological or neuropsychological assessment. ADHD is frequently diagnosed by the presence of symptoms, yet it is important to note that symptoms such as impulsivity or forgetfulness can also be caused by anxiety, depression, or other factors.
Avatar m tn I feel your frustration. Kind of makes me wonder about the training of the doctors you have worked with. For example, weight loss is a very common side effect with lots of known ways to deal with it - and it sounds like no one has discussed this with you? Which also makes me wonder about what kind of doctors you have been working with? I also wonder about your overall knowledge of the subject - not your fault, I blame that on the doctors.
1393879 tn?1288729049 Sandman, in regards to the history of the science behind ADHD (and mental illness) you obviously have been asleep at the wheel. The literature of ADHD, and the attempt at some etiological explanation, goes back to about 1900, about the same time that the neurologists Charcot and Bleuer were observing the behavior of syphillics suffering tetiary stage syphillis (paresis). Avatar f tn First, your inclinations about your parents having ADHD because they seem to have a difficult time listening to you isn't sufficient to conclude that they have a clinical problem. Generally, the metric for diagnosing someone with a mental disorder is that there is some kind of impairment in functioning (e.g., occupational, interpersonal, etc.) or that the problem causes significant subjective distress.

My past medical hx is notable for jaundice (birth), asthma, ADHD, Neurocardiogenic Syncope, intolerance to extreme temperatures, fluctuations in weight (10-15 lbs), episodes of indigestion & vomiting, and hypersomnolence since childhood. I was 8 yo when I began entering puberty, starting menses at 9 yo. Since that time, I have had irregular menses & migraines.

First, check your pill bottle to make sure you've got the name right. If it IS Clonidine, I would contact my doctors office immediately! 9043033 tn?1401350253 com You do not say which Metoprolol you are taking, but it is still worth checking this out. Clonodine is also used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and ADHD. Lasix is a diuretic which is used with people who have congestive heart failure. Avatar n tn Redemonstration of stable appearing small white matter focus to the left frontal lobe. The etiology remains uncertain. This is of questionable significance. No new lesion or other interval changes are seen." Thank you for your time!
Avatar m tn I started falling apart cognitively about a year and a half ago, about the time I started taking Aldara for MC and Adderall for ADHD and I have progressively worsened since then. It has gotten to the point where I forced myself to drop out of college this semester. And this is the last thing I wanted to do. School is my life and I enjoy it very much, but my health is usurping my abilities to perform well in school.
Avatar f tn Don’t give up. A generation ago, depression didn’t exist, and now it’s the answer to everything. I’m betting it won’t be too long before tiredness comes into its own, and you can get some respect. Doctors are best with things they can SEE and TOUCH, that show up on x-ray or in lab results. Not so good with things that have to be described to them. If you are terse with the description, they don't get it at all.

551343 tn?1506834118 I had my uterus removed at age 21 (1976), due to uncontrollable yeast infection, tubes were also plugged. I developed Fibro in 1999 after a Flu shot. 286034 tn?1201100440 I am what most would consider ADHD so reading books is not in the cards but I enjoy anything that can hold my attention for more than 30 minutes! I have 3 dogs, 2 Jack Russels and a Humane Society mix that is my baby! It is wonderful getting to know you all! Oh yeah - and I earned a Gold medal in the 2004 Olymipics in the 200 m hurdles - how about that Johnny!! Isn't the internet great!
Avatar f tn I've had similar episodes, off and on, for about 20 years. I had one today...which is why I'm on the board. Starts in the shoulders...I can feel it coming on...after a few seconds, heads quickly down one or both arms. Weakness and heaviness - and I liked someone's analogy to having a tight cuff on the arm. It lasts a minute or so. Feels like longer!
