Adderall is a cakewalk compared to opiates. You will be just fine. Kids stay on adderall and still get into Harvard--in fact, kids are purposefully getting on adderall to improve their grades. Coming off something like adderall is in no way, shape or form as hard as painkillers so I know you can do it. Just drink lots of juice, have some tylenol just in case. You'll be fine, honey.

s obviously abusing adderall. People who abuse adderall make those of us who legitimately need it look bad. It also makes parents hesitant to put their kids on it (even though they could benefit greatly from it). I hate it when kids come on here and ask silly questions. It's disrespectful to the entire ADHD community.

Now my question is how does a 16 year old (or others of any age) abuse adderall? How exactly do they abuse adderall? How is it done? Im asking because I have high position that my daighter is not only "trying" to abuse her vyvanse but I think she also doing adderall and getting it off the streets (from friends she may know or known drug dealers). I can just see a big difference in her behavior.

Why is my 'shrink' trying to treat my Adult ADD with Bubropion HCL SR (100mg tab 2X a day)? Is this the right med for me? Good grief...it didn't even cut out my smoking. Both of my adult children are on Adderall and are doing fine. My doc keeps telling me that Concerta & Adderall are 'too addictive' ... what the heck ... I am not looking to get high or anything ... I just want to be able to have a med to make my ADD manageable.

Ok so I did something that I would regularly never do. I took Adderall during loratab withdrawal. I was taking an average of 4-5 10 325's for the last 3 years and just went cold turkey. I took 7.5 mg of adderall yest and 10mg today and it's unbelievably helping a ton. I still feel the effects of WD but no where near what it should be! I took them to get to work I plan to take 10mg for another 2 days and then 2.5 for 2 more and then STOP. just wondering if that is ok to do.

If you google kids that age are usually only given 2.5 or 5 mils. Adderall also effects blood pressure; so it is very important that he gets that checked, so you know if the dose it too high. I've lived with adhd my entire life without meds. Up until about ten is not so bad if you wanted to just take him off it. When the workload gets heavier at school is when he should really have problems focusing long enough to finish assignments & completing homework on time.

By the way, I don't think adderall makes kids smarter. Some kids will always struggle academically due to IQ. That's life.

After reading everything written on here I'd figure I'd share my two cents. I'm a 26 year old woman who has been on adderall for almost 6 years (given a month or so every year I wouldn't be on it just bc it was summer). I take 30mg of XR once a day. Of course it had nothing it's minor side affects, but nothing extreme.

When I read you were adding adderall I felt compelled to relay my experience. Adderall is basically legalized speed. Do yourself a favor and try all other options before turning to adderall. I was addicted to adderall. I just finished physical withdrawals and now I'm dealing with phychatric withdrawals. This drug is sold on the streets and you might find yourself needing more and more in order for it to work. Just be careful!

My son takes Adderall and does very well with it. The problem is he just started college and lives in an apartment where kids are in and out all the time. But last month someone stole some of his Medicine which made him short and guess what, yesterday it was all stolen and we just had it filled. We filed a Police Report and all but will he have to wait a whole month to get it filled again? I don't think he can function in class. Anyone know?

s only the adderall, or a combination of adderall and zoloft. I felt they added the adderall a little quickly after only being on zoloft a month. I am just praying this behavior was due to the medication and will go away.

So, for over 2 years, I have consistently taken 60mg of Adderall. Once I was finally stable on my Adderall, he then took me off of my Xanax (did not WEEN me off, but TOOK me off) stating that 'Florida Law-He can not prescribe 2 Narcotics'.. I went for my regular, I voiced that after a year and a half of being off of Xanax, I'm now experiencing Anxiety more and more severe.. I understood that he couldnt prescribe another Narcotic, but I felt anything to subside my Anxiety would help.

My 5, soon to be 6, year old son has been communicating with unseen entities since he was 3. He used to have full on conversations with his "friends" but now he complains to me all the time that whispers are stuck in his head and he can't get away from them. He doesn't understand what they are saying because he says there's too many.

so i went out,and first family dr put e on vyvanse which totally changed me.price was high so changed to adderall but great results,not only that but since being on adderall i know longer have to take my 16mg suboxone.my life was pathetic allways home,no friends,forgot how to live.now im with my family,grups,met a girl i feel alive again.anyway i know adderall is very addictive my mom keeps close eye.but most drug addicts have adhd and just need treatment.

It is sad to see so many creative talented kids that may not perhaps fit into the mold the public schools want them to fit into, but ADHD kids are bright, outgoing, hands on kids that have so much potential and will go far in life, but are being robbed of their talent due to all of these so called disorders. My son was on it for 2 years, from age 6 to age 8, he is now almost 18 and is doing great.

Adderall never did this..I also now have diarrhea where with only the Adderall I only went once a week...but Adderall makes me not hungry at all...not till after 6 pm..and I noticed that now with the celexa I'm even less hungry.I started Adderall in november.I was a size 12 and now I'm a 4...I am 5"6 and now weigh 126 which is fine for my height..but I don't want to go any lower..any suggestions? Oh and I just started the celexa three days ago...

By the way, since this is an ADHD forum, it sounds like the school and perhaps you could use some more info on how to help kids with ADHD. I have lots of good links if there is any specific thing you would like to know more about. Best wishes.

We are pleased with Adderall! Ashley took it for the first time yesterday and it was almost like it was a different person I was living with! She was focused, she was talkative after school(usually she'd been hardly speaking at all).Well if I was tired, had headaches, stomach aches I'd would n't be talking much either. Pls share your experience with Adderall.

His doctor had him on 10mg of Adderall and 15mg of Lamictal, and i see no change in his behavior=( The doctor has him on 10mg of adderall and 15 mg of Lamictal and i still have not seen a change in his behavior.

I love the work that I get done when I am taking my Adderall however, I really only need it 2-3 days out of the week. When I had a huge class load last year I peaked at 30 mg at 7am and 30mg at 1pm and thats only because I attended college at night.I feel fatigued when I am not using Adderall, even if its been 2 weeks I still don't feel like I have energy.I find myself wanting to nap when possible.Any suggestions on how to fight Adderall fatigue.

i dont want to stop the meds if they are going to help him. he tired adderall and strattera with the same side affect. can anyone recommend something that will work without him getting sleepy.

Not stimulated by adderall. Adderall may stimulate her to clean more, get in the mood to re organize all the socks in the house, or read a book twice as fast as normal... or talk a lot....but not that. Maybe it's time for an intervention?

im on xanax, adderall, & suboxone... My pharmacist said I should try to avoid taking xanax & suboxone at the same time but its fine if there a couple hrs apart, & not to take them together at night time. Its hard on your heart/body when you take uppers & downers together.

t think she is taking them at the same time but, is it safe for her to take an adderall on occasion? She claims the adderall gives her more energy than the vyvanse so she takes it when she has a night that she is working late and so on. I am just making sure this is not harmful to her, I am a recoverying addict and am scared I am seeing the same signs in her.......
