Adderall high blood pressure

Common Questions and Answers about Adderall high blood pressure

adderall

Avatar m tn Hi everyone, I'm 19 years old and currently in college, and 4 weeks ago I found out that I have a high heart rate and blood pressure. I am 5'9, 130 lbs, work out occasionally, although I have asthma and during my first year in college I indulged pretty excessively in marijuana/drinking. I also used adderall illicitly to cram, staying up three nights in a row at times, and that is when my problems started.
Avatar f tn but do any of you constantly check your blood pressure and heart rate..i woke up this morning and my blood prssure was 90/70 and heartrate was 111 i felt kinda week....its gone up now but sometimes it goes high like 140/86...then it goes normal it scares me....my heart rate goes up cause im on adderall and my anxiety gets so bad and im on prozac..been on prozac two months and i cant tell it doing much neither is the adderall......
Avatar f tn It is best to minimize, or even eliminate any intake of caffeine and decongestants since both will raise your blood pressure. It is an excellent idea to take your blood pressure on a daily basis and also to keep a diary or log of your blood pressure readings. This gives you an idea of what your normal baseline blood pressure is, and will be useful to both you and your doctor.
Avatar m tn I was found to have high blood pressure about 6 months ago; Atenenol was prescribed and works fine. I already take 300mg Wellbutrin and 10mg Valium. Just a couple of months ago I was diagnosed ADHD, and Vyvanse was prescribed, along with clonidin. I have to really watch my blood pressure now, because if I miss taking the atenenol, my blood pressure will shoot up over 160 really quick.
Avatar n tn I don't know much about Adderall except that it is a stimulant. A friend of mine had to go off it because it started giving her horrible panic attacks and high heart rate, along with other symptoms you've mentioned. She never had these things before. It didn't happen until she was on it for a few months, too.
1746489 tn?1311515586 ve been taking norvasc for high blood pressure now for about 13 months now, in which my blood pressure seems to be under control for the most part. even with activities and eating right it just seems to be something passed down from family member to family member. However when adderall first came out in the late 1990's my nero Dr., placed me on the medication, and i went from a 1.5 GPA student to graduating top of my class with honors with a 4.0...
Avatar f tn Only your Doctor will be able to tell you that but I would definatly say you shopuld go and ask questions before continueing asking for anything else like xanax ...they only give xanax for a short time or are supposed to only give it for a short time as it is addictive.
Avatar m tn weird, new side effect. maybe related to blood pressure rise. that would be easy to check out. concerta is a long lasting ritalin. You might try a stronger dose of ritalin. It would be out of your system in 4 hours instead of 8 (give or take) with concerta. Adderall is a amphetamine while ritalin/concerta is a methylphenidate. The symptoms should ease at night when the meds no longer in system. If the symptoms are still there, it may not be related.
Avatar n tn One thing I wanted to add is that adderall is known to raise blood pressure. I would be worried about having high blood pressure during your pregnancy, especially late in pregnancy as you don't want to end up with toxemia. Not to mention what it could do to your baby's blood pressure. Just make sure you talk to your doctor before taking any.
Avatar n tn This individual needs to see their doctor about that. Adderall can raise blood pressure, which if rather high could lead to nose bleeds, but he also needs to have his nasal passages/sinuses evaluated.
Avatar m tn About a few years ago, I had a really bad reaction to caffeine--heart palpitations, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure--over drinking a 20oz of Mountain Dew. I recently started taking Adderall for ADHD (was diagnosed since I was a child but could never swallow medication until early adulthood), and I thought it was really going to mess with my heart. Funny enough, I tolerate Adderall very well with a nominal increase in BP every so often.
Avatar f tn I am a 4'10" 27 year old female weighing 102 lbs. I am prescribed celexa 40 mg and adderall 30 mg BID (2x a day) by the same doctor. Lately I can't sleep at night my blood pressure is high 130/90. My heart rate seems really fast. I've been twitching a lot, have hot and cold flashes, abdominal cramping, a lump on the back of my neck (right side), body is sore, frequent urge to urinate but hardly pee and my skin is warm to the touch. What's wrong with me?
Avatar m tn I recently took adderall for the first time and this same thing happened to me, blood in my semen. It just happened so I haven't let it wear off yet. I'm praying it does. If you had this happen to you (a reader), please post here and follow up if it goes away or not. If tests or treatment is obtained, please share what you can. If mine does not go away by Monday I will seek medical attention and post a follow-up here.
Avatar n tn Take your blood pressure after the adderall kicks in. I really wonder why you need the Ephedrine. The Adderall will raise your heart rate. The Ephedrine will raise it higher. You would have to be in fantastic shape to withstand not doing damage maybe even unrepairable damage to yourself. Please be careful. More is not better.
673186 tn?1225983925 Yes, 140 mgs is a very very large dose and most people would feel minor or severe overdose symptoms, extreme sweating, vomiting, diarrhea, rapid heartbeat, high anxiety, high blood pressure, jittery. It can be extremely. I experienced that once and it was horrible.
Avatar f tn have you gotten any answers? Was on it and made me totally confused! Felt like my brain was doing flip flops! New psychiatrist took me off in a hurry! Everyone is different though...
Avatar f tn One thing Xanax will help for Adderal is reducing the side-effect of the amphetamine which is high blood presure and fast heart beat and anxiety. If I were you and most importaly if I would like to get the full advantage of Adderal I would cut on the Xanax or take it only before going to bed to come down from Adderal.
452191 tn?1208754863 s damaging your young heart. And lamictal has a side effect of causing high blood pressure in some people. I hope you can find a doctor that will listen to what you are experiencing and realize that the combo of mess and your diagnoses do not mix well. It can set off manic episodes in bi-polar people. My heart really goes out to you honey.
Avatar n tn # CARDIOVASCULAR INJURY Evidence shows that Adderall may increase the risk of serious cardiovascular events including heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, and other serious conditions. This Adderall side effect risk appears to be greater in people with a history of cardiovascular conditions and those who misuse this drug. # WORSENING TICS Adderall side effects can worsen tics and Tourette’s disorder.
Avatar f tn Amphetamines are highly addictive in the mental sense and yes given time can cause nasty issues such as high blood pressure and heart attack, not to mention the horrible comedown speed is well known for. I'm guilty of this too but there is this stigma attached to prescription drugs I think that they are both "clean" and "safe". Sure, your adderall is not going to contain rat poison if the doctor prescribes it, but take enough of it and you can really hurt yourself.
Avatar f tn The numbness and lightheadedness are probably caused by orthostatic hypotension (yes, the stimulant can cause a significant DROP in blood pressure, bradycardia and tachycardia). Try not to consume alcohol for atleast 5 hours after your last adderall dose. Keep your blood volume adequate by staying hydrated and nourished. Never take a "sustained release" version of adderall, no matter what the pharmaceutical companies tell you.
Avatar m tn Just started with adderall and my left side arm and hand are tingling anything to be worried about?
