I've been prescribed adderall xr for a couple years on and off. I stopped taking it for 8 months and noticed rapid weight gain. My body started to feel swollen almost, specifically my stomach and face. I'm 26 years old, 5'9 and have always been a little under weight. I usually fluctuate between 125-140lbs. I currently weigh 184lbs, I never been over 145lbs up until this past year. I began taking my prescription (adderall xr 25mgs) a few months ago.
Hello, I've actually had this problem for a while now and seems to be related to high doses of amphetamine and/or caffeine (I usually need both when cramming in pharmacy school). Your post caught my eye because my symptoms do not behave like normal GERD or Acid Reflux.
It all started about Wed (02/08/17) morning when I woke up, as soon as I sat up I had a strong urge to gag and did but didn't vomit. It was an unpleasant feeling of course that lasted through the evening with me having no appetite. What I find odd is that it pretty much completely disappears by around 8PM every time! Now about a week later I'm still experiencing this which is why I came here seeking help.
Anyway, I began to notice that my breathing problems were the worst and most noticeable on days that I took Adderall. Apparently, Adderall can make the symptoms of acid reflux worse which is why I feel like I cant reach a satisfying deep breath. I haven't read anything linking thrush and reflux and the symptoms of thrush don't fit my symptoms, but I did watch my larynx collapse when trying to breathe.
I am taking methadone 80mg and Adderall 30mg once a day. Please help me!!!!!!!!! I feel like I am on an episode of Mystery Diagnosis. This used to be a minor inconveneince and now it is ruining my life. I also have had big problems with constipation and bowel movements.
So here's my story. I never had heartburn before in my life. I was prescribed 40mg of prednisone for 5 days and was never told to take an antacid or ppi while I was on it. Fast forward to the 6th day I was woken up to chest pain and my heart fluttering. I wasn't sure what it was and couldn't fall back asleep until hours later. I went to the ER two days later for the chest pain and they gave me an oral steroid to take along with 2 weeks worth of famotodine to take.
About two months ago I started having palpitations (one episode prior, two years ago, otherwise new). The first occurrence happened after watching a very intense/emotional movie during which I cried and felt anxious (not unusually so). I stood up from the couch, and BOOM off to the races (tachycardia, flip flopping, irregular pulse). I felt somewhat lightheaded (sort of an out of body/impending doom feeling) but no LOC.

I realized I had consumed a decent amount of caffeine by that point in the morning plus only 2 hrs of sleep. My card enzymes came back fine as well as my ecg and chest x-ray. Had 48 hr.
I AM HAVING PERIODS OF DIARRHEA, AND CONSTIPATION. STOOLS BEING REALLY BLACK OR REALLY YELLOW DAILY.MEDS INCLUDE ATIVAN AND ADDERALL SYMPTOMS INCLUDE.... FATIQUE, GERD,, RIGHT SHOULDER PAIN.
THE RIGHT SIDE PAIN RADIATING TO RIGHT LOWER BACK. THIS IS CONSTANT AND I HAVE NAUSEA DAILY. WORST SCENARIO SINCE THIS STARTED .....AFTER, JUST A COUPLE GLASSES OF WINE I STARTED VOMITING AND YELLOW LOOSE STOOLS WITH THE VOMITUS EVENTUALLY TURNING YELLOW. IT TOOK TWO DAYS WITHOUT EATING TO RECOVER AT HOME.
Hello, my name is Justin and I was curious about the effects of taking adderall had on motor neuron and glutamate function. I am currently in medical school and have been taking adderall for some time now and notice that when I am taking in caffeine along with adderall I experience muscle twitching within my arms, legs, and fingers. Previously to my arrival at school, I was checked out by a neurologist who performed a NVC/EMG and said everything was fine.
Vyvanse is metabolized differently, so could last longer in your system. It was done so you could not snort it like you can with Adderall. Adderall gives a stronger first "hit". V is smoother and takes longer to take effect so may not be as noticeable. Also the Dose of V should be 30mg compared to 10mgs of adderall XR to be somewhat equal.
I don't put a lot of stuff in my coffee though, so I'm curious why coffee would make me shaky but Adderall wouldn't. I know they work differently, but I just assumed that Adderall was stronger and would have more negative side effects.
I also take adderall for add and xanax for anxiety. The reason that you are experiencing anxiety like symptoms from the adderall is because adderall is a stimulant. It is a mix of amphetamine and dextoamphetamine salts. It is a schedule II drug. Schedule I drugs are the worst classification and it goes down to schedule V. This is not uncommon, I have this problem as well. The question is can you live with the extra anxiety if the adderall is really helping you?
My college aged daughter has been on Adderall 3 days a week since Nov 2007. I noticed over spring break a small amount of acne (she had been acne free for years). Then when she came home in May the acne started getting worse. She upped her adderall because of training/games and a new job. So she was basically taking it almost every day. Her face broke out horribly. Worse it has ever been. I took her to two dermatologists. Nothing was helping. It was steadily getting worse.
I used to use caffine to pick me up when the adderall was wearing off but I notice this always ended up in a downward spiral until I stop the caffine for about a week and felt good again. Instead of using caffine to pick me up once the adderall wears off I just take more adderall now but not enough to get that PEP feeling. If you take enough adderall to get the pepped up feeling every day your tolerance will increase quickly.
Now my question is how does a 16 year old (or others of any age) abuse adderall? How exactly do they abuse adderall? How is it done? Im asking because I have high position that my daighter is not only "trying" to abuse her vyvanse but I think she also doing adderall and getting it off the streets (from friends she may know or known drug dealers). I can just see a big difference in her behavior.
I am a 48 yr old female diagnosed with recurring severe depression. When I am not taking my meds, I am tired, can sleep all day, am completely unmotivated to do anything and do not want to socialize with anyone. I have tried several different meds and am currently taking Celexa and Adderall XR. My psy says that adding the Adderall will "kick in the Celexa" and make it work better. I have a love/hate realationship with the Adderall.
There definately is a difference between Ritalin and Adderall. Adderall is stronger. For instance, if a person is on 30mg of Adderall and wants to switch to Ritalin,..you will need aprox. 50 to 60mg of Ritalin to be equivelant to the 30mg of Adderall. I am on 60mg of Adderall daily. I wanted to try Ritalin again just for the heck of it. I have shown proof from reliable sources, to my Doc that he needs to give me MORE than 60mg Ritalin for it to be effective as 60mg Adderrall.
My Doctor is working with me and helping me in any way he can. I have ADHA and use to take Adderall daily. I asked my doc if I could get back on it while taking Suboxone and he said yes and perscribed it to me again. My question is if I should be taking these two meds together or not? I know my doc perscribed them to me but I can't help but question if it's ok. Does anyone have any takes on this? I am taking 8mg Sub 2x daily and 30mg Adderall 2x daily right now.
It's basically the same as a Red Bull and all energy drinks. NOT a relevant solution or replacement for Adderall. Generic IR Adderall isn't expensive at all and is called mixed amphetamine salts or amphetamine, dextroamphetamine mixed salts. Something like less than a dollar per pill.
My son has been on Adderall for about 1 year. 20 mg am and 10mg after noon. He just started getting headaches and an upset stomach. Could this be from the Adderall?
