I am probably off beat here, but I would be remiss if I didn't throw this out. You were diagnosed at 19. Were you in college then? Sometimes, the college doctors since they can't do the normal surveys of teachers, go more on the need of the patient and maybe don't follow the actual guidelines.
If the doc has her on a steroid based medication that could be another reason for the weight gain but long term becoming obese is never a good thing for anyone. My vote would be for either you or your mom to contact the doc who diagnosed the angina, tell them what is going on and get their advice on how much activity she will be able to do in having the angina and not setting it off.
His weight is very above the 95th percentile and his height is between the 50-25th percentile for his age. He is very overweight for his age. It is recommend increasing children's physical activities (play, dance, sports) to lose weight, and not lower calorie intake due to the need of calories for growth. For his age he needs approximately 1800 calories a day to grow. Limit time in front of the TV or non-active-video games.
I have started eating right and exercising for a minimum of 150 min a week. Kindly let me know if this should be enough to make changes to my health in terms of not being a victim to certain illness in the future.

So I am thinking of giving him a 1/4 of a 20mg adderall to start off with and see how that works does anyone else take adderall for head trauma? Just wanting to know if it has helped them. I am bipolar 1 and I've taken Adderall for the last 10 years, I take 30 mg twice a day! My Trileptal is for my bipolar and Adderall for my adhd, if she is having a hyper manic episode then something caused it. I have one ever so many years, but extreme stress is what causes it. It has nothing to do with her meds, it has something to do with what triggered it! Stress, depression or something or someone pressing her!
Why is my 'shrink' trying to treat my Adult ADD with Bubropion HCL SR (100mg tab 2X a day)? Is this the right med for me? Good grief...it didn't even cut out my smoking. Both of my adult children are on Adderall and are doing fine. My doc keeps telling me that Concerta & Adderall are 'too addictive' ... what the heck ... I am not looking to get high or anything ... I just want to be able to have a med to make my ADD manageable.
ve taken both Provigil and Adderall to help with the bad fatigue I get. I like Provigil a lot more than Adderall. It seems to have less severe side-effects for me. The only problem is that it causes my Irritable Bowel Syndrome to get out of control. So frustrating! Other than that, I would really recommend it. Best of luck to you, I hate the fatigue of this illness.
A friend of mine that I've known for 15 years now has been acting a little strange lately. On Tuesday 5/20 she called me late & told me she was on her way to my house b/c she was leaving her husband of 8 years. She said she needed a place to stay til Friday. She did not tell her sister parents what she was doing. Her husband told them on Thurs. 5/22. The next day, Friday, her family tried to sit her down & talk to her about what she was doing. She punched her sister in the face.
I have been prescribed Concerta 27.5 mgCR which is like adderall for ADHD. My doctor also prescribed Phenteramine 37.5 mg for weight loss. I take both together in the morning. I do go to him every month and have a check up so he can check my blood pressure...it is always low anyways. But he does keep a close eye on me. Also, if I have something stressfull happen in my life, I drop the phenterimine for a couple of days to prevent an anxidy attack.
I hope you know that adderall has caused death in some people ,they found that some people get high blood pressure and also some have had strokes after taken adderall and some have had heart problems .
to me it wouldn't be worth getting good grades.
also you should never take someone else drugs.
my son has been on adderall and then concerta ,until I found out he was having Seizures witch can also be a side effect from these drugs.
I have been on Vyvanse for a while now. And was worried when they doctor said it was very similar to Adderall XR. But he promised me that the issues I was having with feeling ill, insomnia, and no appitite would lessen on Vyvanse. And that the nasty, gross stimulant feeling I got from Adderall would go away.
And he was right about everything and then some. And believe me if there is a side effect to have I will have it.
I have been addicted to amphetamines (generic adderall) for about a year now. I have been taking them regularly for five years. My addiction began as an exploration of drugs and soon became an assistant for weight-loss (i have also suffered with eating disorders). I began very heavy and daily use of amphetamines about 7 or 8 months ago. when use, i will crush up the amphetamine salts, as well as Adderall XR (which is a much more powerful pharmaseutical).
