So I am thinking of giving him a 1/4 of a 20mg adderall to start off with and see how that works does anyone else take adderall for head trauma? Just wanting to know if it has helped them. Thank you for responses, and I know the law of giving un prescribed drugs out, but the drugs he should be taking no one will prescribed them until he has a neurologist, but we cannot afford one with the state not helping us. All we have is each other and I have done everything I can do, alone.

Concerta, 30mg Adderall IR, and 30mg Adderall XR. Concerta gave me migraines. Adderall XR completely sucked. Adderall IR was the best medication that I found until Vyvanse. Now I think Adderall is horrible in comparison.
I've been taking 30mg of Vyvanse for a few months now. This has been my adjusted dose from trying 20mg, 30mg, and 50mg. 50mg was wayy too much at the time. 30mg was perfect until about a month ago. It lasted about 12 hours, a huge improvement over 4 hours of Adderall IR.
I am very concerned because between the time of the first ocular migraine i had months ago and today I have started taking Adderall for my ADD. Ive read adderall gives you a risk for stroke. Is it likely that this was just a migraine and not TIA or a stroke?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I have no insurance and it would be very costly go to the ER...
I all but pleaded with my psych doctor to either change me to a different stimulant type medication since I do not have ADD/ADHD but since I had taken Provigil then Nuvigil back when they first came out like 10 plus years ago, she had said that unless I had narcolepsy or a diagnosed sleep disorder besides insomnia I would not be approved for them. She instead increased the Adderall to 30mg tablets/twice daily.
I have friends who are RN's and that is one tough, stressful job. I can't imagine what it would be like without RNs around.
I am probably off beat here, but I would be remiss if I didn't throw this out. You were diagnosed at 19. Were you in college then? Sometimes, the college doctors since they can't do the normal surveys of teachers, go more on the need of the patient and maybe don't follow the actual guidelines.
She been on most. She is on adderall to wake up and adderall later to stay up. She has seen MS specialists X2, had bloods, MRIs,CSF exam, sleep studies and there is no apparent physical cause for this. The only objective finding are scattered white matter lesions on brain mri that do not enhance and have not changed in 5 years. She is now 21. She is on disability. She used to be a straight A student before age 16 and was a dancer. Where can I take her to get this looked at? NIH or CHOP?
I have been taking Adderall for several years and I will admit that the pills put me in a "hypomanic" position BUT they allow me to get things done. I have a highly depressive form of BP and rarely ever go into any mania (my natural mania consists mostly of obsessive thoughts) so I just lie in bed most days.
I assumed it was Nexplanon at first but I had it for the 3 years before and had no problems and have had it for 11 months now. My period skipped a few months and then it came back heavy and painful for 2-3 weeks out of the month, skipped a few months again.
My pain started in my left Fallopian tube and eventually went to my ovary. I was only comfortable laying on my stomach. Pressure helped but doesn't anymore.
Why is my 'shrink' trying to treat my Adult ADD with Bubropion HCL SR (100mg tab 2X a day)? Is this the right med for me? Good grief...it didn't even cut out my smoking. Both of my adult children are on Adderall and are doing fine. My doc keeps telling me that Concerta & Adderall are 'too addictive' ... what the heck ... I am not looking to get high or anything ... I just want to be able to have a med to make my ADD manageable.
Also, I am prescribed to 30mg Adderall XR for my ADHD that I was diagnosed with when I was 13, and thank god, because it is the only thing that keeps me awake.

ve taken both Provigil and Adderall to help with the bad fatigue I get. I like Provigil a lot more than Adderall. It seems to have less severe side-effects for me. The only problem is that it causes my Irritable Bowel Syndrome to get out of control. So frustrating! Other than that, I would really recommend it. Best of luck to you, I hate the fatigue of this illness.
A friend of mine that I've known for 15 years now has been acting a little strange lately. On Tuesday 5/20 she called me late & told me she was on her way to my house b/c she was leaving her husband of 8 years. She said she needed a place to stay til Friday. She did not tell her sister parents what she was doing. Her husband told them on Thurs. 5/22. The next day, Friday, her family tried to sit her down & talk to her about what she was doing. She punched her sister in the face.
I have been prescribed Concerta 27.5 mgCR which is like adderall for ADHD. My doctor also prescribed Phenteramine 37.5 mg for weight loss. I take both together in the morning. I do go to him every month and have a check up so he can check my blood pressure...it is always low anyways. But he does keep a close eye on me. Also, if I have something stressfull happen in my life, I drop the phenterimine for a couple of days to prevent an anxidy attack.
Nanny I have been dealing with migraines for over 26yrs. and was doing everything and some of it illegal.. I found out last year that the FDA made it possible to use Botox and I am a Dancing fool. I get about 50-75% relief from it and when I do get a migraine now ... Most of the time a anti throw up pill and 800mg Aleve along with a beta blocker works ( if I catch it early)

Only prescription meds are birth control for cramps (started after symptoms began) and adderrall (taken for many years before symptoms started) and excedrin as needed. Started summer of 2020. Less frequent early winter but started again February 2021 and has been 2-5 days a week since then. Any ideas??
I hope you know that adderall has caused death in some people ,they found that some people get high blood pressure and also some have had strokes after taken adderall and some have had heart problems .
to me it wouldn't be worth getting good grades.
also you should never take someone else drugs.
my son has been on adderall and then concerta ,until I found out he was having Seizures witch can also be a side effect from these drugs.
m 48 years old, otherwise healthy, well I have had anxiety and depression for many years on Effexor XR and Klonopin for many years and Adderall to overcome the pain and lack of ability to focus. My mother had severe disabling migraines with vertigo that were worse than mine when she was my age. She also had back problems with disks. I have never smoked, and don't drink alcohol, used to drink recreationally when younger. Some days I feel pretty good some days not.
