Avatar n tn I TAKE 15MG OF ADDERALL EVERY DAY FOR ADD -I HAVE BEEN TAKING ADDERALL FOR 3 YEARS NOW. I AM A 22 YEAR OLD FEMALE AND AS FAR AS I KNOW I AM HEALTHY. I RECENTLY STARTED WORKING WITH A PERSONAL TRAINER- SHE TELLS ME FOR MY AGE AND WEIGHT THAT I SHOULD KEEP MY HEART RATE BETWEEN 130-140BMP FOR 45-60 MINS A DAY TO BURN FAT.
Avatar f tn I have been taking adderall for 2 months now the first two week I focus but after that I seem to forget very easily not remembering what I had said. I was taking an antidepressant before starting adderall.
Avatar f tn ve been feeling all the side-effects instead of stimulated and focused. My biggest need for medication is for a stimulation and focus, but mainly I want to change the upset and negative emotions and feels I get. I changed doctors recently, and when I asked about possibly changing medication, he ignored my symptoms and needs and instead insisted that I shouldn't change my medication.
Avatar m tn My son has ADD, not hyperactive, and was prescribed Adderall after Strattera quit working. The label says it can cause dependency after just as few weeks. How can this be a good drug if he needs to be on it long term? The dose is only 10mg and he is 16 but his dad has an addictive personality (recovering alcoholic) and it scares me. I have only gathered up my courage to give him 1 dose. I know about drug holidays and that is fine but if he doesn't abuse it, can he still get addicted? Thanks.
Avatar m tn I'm a lot older than you but I've taken adderall for about 5/6 years. I am able to concentrate and focus better than before....I've never felt like a zombie (at least not from the adderall....but I digress). It will cause insomnia if you take it too late in the day.
219373 tn?1274921434 just prior to having her testing in which she was diagnosed with these she was on adderall for suspected ADD and the adderall was very effective for her concentration and focus, making schoolwork and chores etc much less stressful and frustrating. after her testing i was told she definalty does not have ADD and the aspergers is making her loose focus and have trouble with concentration etc. she was taken off the adderall and has not been doing nearly as well.
Avatar f tn the strange thing is that when i was on the meds, my grades were great.. While i was on treatment i had to take adderall every day to focus, but now i am off of it... has this happened to anyone else?
Avatar f tn I've been diagnosed with ADHD myself, and I can tell you, if you're older than 5, DO NOT TAKE ADDERRALL, it's the equivalent of meth and salt. I'm on Vivance, 40mg. Oh, and @specialmom, I've had ADHD for 14 years, and not one thing in your comment is true. It's an amphetamine, pretty much methamphetamine, not speed. They don't give you a boost of energy, they slow down how fast your brain works, so you can focus.
Avatar f tn I was taking 20mg of adderall xr and went to 60mg of vyvanse which i was told was like taking 25 to 30mg of adderall but i feel like im in some sort of withdrawal from adderall. am i the only one this has happened to?
Avatar m tn I recently began taking adderall for ADHD. It works as well as an albuterol inhaler for me. It was the first, and best, effect I get from it, other than making me sleep really well.
Avatar f tn What does your doctor think? I have personally taken hydro, xanax and adderall at the same for about a week until i no longer needed the hydro. It's not really that great of a combo since the cns depressants xanax and hydro seem to work against the stimulating effect of adderall. I ended up quitting the xanax as well after a while since it I felt it was diminishing the focus adderall gives you.
Avatar f tn They say adderall causes insomnia... Its obvious, adderall is a legal form of speed. Most would say adderall is the last thing a restless person would or should take. However, at this point i see no other choice. here is my rational. --Because I cannot sleep, I lose the ability to focus in class. Because I can't focus, I don't learn as much as I can during class time.
Avatar n tn I am a stay at home mother with three young boys. I have been taking zoloft (100mg daily) for depression for about nine years. The only times I was not taking zoloft is during my second and third pregnancies (and, boy, it was tough). Zoloft has changed my life - and my family's happiness. Just recently I was also diagnosed with ADD. My doc gave me adderall 10mg IR to try.
Avatar f tn I do not do hard drugs but i do have a question about adderall. I snort it from time to time to help study for huge tests or to focus for big papers. I am wondering if snorting adderall will lead to holes in my nose? if so, how long do you have to snort to cause that problem. I only snort like 20 mgs and not on a daily basis.
7730266 tn?1393887862 I've been taken Adderall xr sense I was five and I'm 25 now. I take it everyday and it helps me to focus when I'm in college and for jobs. I no sense its been so long that Ive been on this my body is dependent on it and I would love to not have to relie on taken Adderall everyday. I didn't no if anyone has heard of any herbal tea or something that helps. Hope someone can help me!
Avatar f tn Please help. My son is autistic. He has bowel issues. He can hold in an enema. He is on several meds. Adderall, Metformin, Risperdol, clonidine. I'm wondering if the weight gain is causing the adderall to be less effective. He's on 20mgs in the morning and 10mgs in the afternoon. He complains about he can't focus any more. It's making him very upset and very hard to deal with. I'm at my wits end. He will only deal with me. I feel like I'm a terrible mother.
Avatar n tn I take adderall (10mg) for focus management. I have a couple side-effects that I don't really mind (dry mouth, loss of appetite, more outgoing/energy, weight loss) but I do have one strange one that I'm not too sure about. I take my adderall after I eat a full breakfast, which is normally my only meal of the day (adderall dismisses my appetite). After about an hour of taking my medication, I have to go to the bathroom.
Avatar n tn I'm a 54 year old female, 5'1 and weight 105 pounds. I've been an avid runner all my life. I've been diagnosed with ADD approximately 6 years ago. I have been on Wellbutrin 300mg for a few years. Last year when I was on adderall I found that my bicycling or running would seem so so hard to do at my previous level. I would get shortness of breath and my heart would race extremely high.
Avatar m tn Been on lexapro and adderall for about two years it has been much better then my last combo of wellbutren and litium. i have been off the adderall for a few months because i am a recovering addict and started well, always abused the adderall. I am suffering so bad with concentration and focus its affecting my work BAD... Is it safe to take lexapro and strattera? and is it safe to take lexapro and ginko biloba untill i get insurance to get strattera ...God i feel like a mess.
Avatar n tn She had been on Adderall for ADHD, went into a hypermanic event and was involuntarily committed for treatment. After her release she went back to her original Psychiatrist who again prescribed Adderall for her. Is Adderall ever used for bipoplar disorder. Everything I have read says no. How can I convince her Dr. to not prescribe it anymore? Please help us.
Avatar f tn been there. Still dealing with becoming "tolerant" to add meds. Adderall worked for me (as high as 90mgs/day) then stopped. I could literally fall asleep after taking it. 10mgs is pretty minor dose.
Avatar n tn I'm on Adderall 10 mg tab (not XR) 2x daily for my ADHD but it seems really weak, especially in the morning. I'm also taking generic Zoloft at 75 mg a day in the morning with breakfast simultaneously with the Adderall. Also, I've been on Adderall before without Zoloft and it seemed to be more effective, though I was on a 15mg morning regimen. When I take the Adderall in the morning with I barely feel a difference, except a very minor dry mouth.
Avatar n tn I did have a friend who was on Adderall (same form of stimulant) for narcolepsy...it helped with that, but she lost massive weight and became paranoid. In low doses it may help with energy levels, but it is highly addictive. Here are two links that explain the precautions/warnings and also potential drug interactions. http://adhd.emedtv.com/vyvanse/vyvanse-warnings-and-precautions.html http://adhd.emedtv.com/vyvanse/vyvanse-drug-interactions.
1012981 tn?1322603293 Bob, I actually take Adderall XR and IR each day and have for about 4/5 years.. Here's how my setup is, my work schedule is from 5am-2:20pm. Adderall XR 30mg Capsule at 4:30am Adderall IR 30mg Tablet at 8:30/9am Adderall IR 20mg Tablet at 12:30/1pm This gets me through the day and I'm able to stay on task, focused and be productive. I don't feel the crash until about 5pm, at which point i'm basically useless.
Avatar f tn Try to focus on other things, go for a walk, watch a movie....something to get your mind off of these repetitive worries.
990354 tn?1307132886 My friend takes adderall and I have taken that before which I found worked awesome for me at helping me focus and what not. However, I am having a hard time getting the doctors to understand my issues. I have been on nine hundred different anti-depressants and nothing really has helped which is why I often relapse back to the opiates. My doc did give me Strattera to try in combination with the pristiq. It is a non-stimulant and prob not as addictive.
