I suffer from major depression. I have been on Adderall for about 7 years. I’m on 80mg daily. I’m still exhausted. Adderall to me is such a double edged sword. Years ago when I first started it I felt alive. I could function like a normal person for awhile. The effects began to wear off and my dose slowly increased. My highest daily dose I have ever been on was 90mg. Right now I really don’t think I would be able to get out of bed without the Adderall.

It's basically the same as a Red Bull and all energy drinks. NOT a relevant solution or replacement for Adderall. Generic IR Adderall isn't expensive at all and is called mixed amphetamine salts or amphetamine, dextroamphetamine mixed salts. Something like less than a dollar per pill.

t think she is taking them at the same time but, is it safe for her to take an adderall on occasion? She claims the adderall gives her more energy than the vyvanse so she takes it when she has a night that she is working late and so on. I am just making sure this is not harmful to her, I am a recoverying addict and am scared I am seeing the same signs in her.......

I agree. Isn't adderall for ADD or ADHD? It's suppose to have a calming effect for those who need to concentrate. I've never heard of someone being prescibed adderall for energy. I'd personally stay clear of that 1. Good luck and let us know.

I have been using Adderall for quite awhile for Narcolepsy. It works great. However, all of the sudden my blood pressure started to go up. I am not sure if the long term use of Adderall is the reason, but while investgating information, I found out that Canada does not allow the use of Adderall because of side effects. I just switched to Concerta today. I'll let you know of my results if you wish.

I take adderall (10mg) for focus management. I have a couple side-effects that I don't really mind (dry mouth, loss of appetite, more outgoing/energy, weight loss) but I do have one strange one that I'm not too sure about. I take my adderall after I eat a full breakfast, which is normally my only meal of the day (adderall dismisses my appetite). After about an hour of taking my medication, I have to go to the bathroom.

Thank you for the reply, I am on 300 mgs of effexor in the am and 300 mgs of lamictal in the am both should be waking me up enough .. the only med I take for sleep is ambian but not all the time.. I do have klonapin that I use when I can't cope with certain things but I use it sparingly.. I did read up on the adderall and i think it is newly prescribed for narcolepticy but yes it's not common especially for bipolar persons..

I prescribed60 mg of adderall but one week I had to take left over phentermine and 10mg adderall and my focusing was great and energy and I still do take 1/3 of phentermine a day.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get your OWN energy back from taking Adderall 30 mg? I've been off them now for 21/2 weeks. I stay so tired and my housework isn't getting done. I'll be 66 Sunday, so does age have anything to do with it? I'm widowed and lonely and the Adderall helped me keep busy.I take Pristiq for depression, and it helps. My health isn't great but i manage.

This is survival mode, once you are past the worst of the w/d and most of us need to be able to work, exercise, and all the other things people recommend to do, to get the chemicals in your brain working again. Depending on whether or not you need Adderall in your daily life for ADD or ADHD or for whatever reason....you can stay on if prescribed or just stop or wean off if you don't need it.

I want any advice or information from experienced members, who have succeeded in quitting w/long-term Adderall addiction. I'd been prescribed Adderall for the first time in 2000. My Doctor has steadily increased my dosages (up to 120mg daily) over the years. She has also experimented with various other alternatives (Ritalin, Dexedrine, Vyvance, etc) with mixed results. I don't feel that long term health effects; are justified by short term benefits (that I might not get).

I did have a friend who was on Adderall (same form of stimulant) for narcolepsy...it helped with that, but she lost massive weight and became paranoid. In low doses it may help with energy levels, but it is highly addictive. My dr added adderal to my prozac and xanx he says i have refractory depression or something like that,i felt better yesterday after taking the adderall...but i hear im at higher risk for serotoyin syndrome....any others on these meds..

after a period of time 6months to one year on adderall the weight loss will stop.. a family member of mine is on adderall for add.. It is speed so yes it will give you energy but thats short lived...

If you are on day 4 you are probably through the worst, congrats on 4 days. Addicts have to be careful about substituting one substance for another so just be careful with the adderall - there are some people that have real problems with it on here and the "energy" you get can be so alluring. It is REAL easy in the beginning to use xanax to help you thorugh withdrawal or adderall and then boom - before you know it you have added to your nightmare and I know you don't want that.

It is most likely the adderall that your feeling. I get the same feeling when I come off of it. But I am now taking Vyvanse which is the same thing, but only it lasts longer and there is almost no comedown. I still use the adderall when I need a quick boost. And like sandman2 said you may also need more sleep and also you might not be eating right. I don't know how you live at all except for what you said though.

but it is like adderall for all intents and purposes..a bit worried bout filling it and i have not...anyone else take this? I know it can be psycholigically additing and i worry...but i gotta move...i get jealous of those with tons of energy..as i have so little it seems...

Ive taken adderall over the years, never was it prescribed to me, I just took it for the huge boost of energy. I think the longest I took it was for about 2-3months almost everyday before it became hard for me to get, so I had to quit. I didnt have any physical w/d's at all when I stopped, I missed to energy it gave me but it really wasnt too hard to quit. Now as far as the sub goes you want to get down to lowest dose possible before you quit.

I used to take adderall about 6 years ago ( not prescribed, solely for energy..) I took it for about a year and when I stopped I had 0 energy and mood swings from ****... I can't say how it really was because I started taking pain pills on top of/after quitting the adderall... I have no experience with subs..

we have battled this for 5 years...he has me in so much debt cause he would go write checks for adderall or extra methadone and i would have to go get small loans to cover the bank. mentally to just relax and do work without becoming too bored or tired or just un-happy about what im doing. When I take adderall, I get energy and I supose some effects that people would describe as a "high" but It also helps me. Even though it's a stimulant, it does actually help me stay on one task and not become disinterested or tired of it, and I actually feel good for once, I don't feel anxiety when I have to go into a room of people I do not know.

Having the knowledge of what is given to a person with ADD, I gladly took the medication ordered called Adderall. For years I have been taking this medication simply to use as a tool for being alert and wide awake. This in it's self proved that I didn't really have ADD. If I really had this problem, the Adderall would have not given me the stimulant feeling I receive. I'm needing advise concerning this problem of needing Adderall everyday to function.

hi im on adderall for refractory depression since april 7 im also also on prozac and xanax,how llong did itt ake for addderall to give u energy im noticing nothing but dry tounge and mouth.......dr upped it to 60 mg yesterday...

I took Adderall XR for six years and am currently 67 days clean. My dosage was 60-70 mg. I am 27 years old. How long until my energy is back and I am feeling "normal" again? Anyone have personal experiences as far as that goes? Also, how much weight did you gain and does it ever come off naturally? Any thoughts on metabolism? Thanks, everyone.

Yes adderall is an ADHD med., but it is also used for narcolepsy. Adderall should give you energy and at the same time supress your appetite.

but i can never seem to eat enough, and i almost always feel very tired and out of energy after the school day, and that is seriously beginning to diminish my energy for physical activity. i can force myself to eat during the day, but i always seem to eat much less than needed. i really need to know the best foods to eat that would give me a great amount of carbs and amino acids, but without being more than a small meal, during the day.

The two I am into are Adderall and Loricet which are two totally different meds but I feel I need the Adderall for energy and the pain pills also give me energy but they are good for feeling good all over too and still being able to sleep really well... I just wonder If this is withdrawal symptoms because I went from about 8 to 10 loricets a day to nothing this last week and a half and have taken half of what I would take in Adderall recently.
