Common Questions and Answers about Add symptoms toddlers

adhd

Avatar f tn s and the drugs typically prescribed for add/adhd were coming to market around that time. This is also really when add/adhd became mainstream and well known. Sure, it was around before that time but there was not the awareness that we have now and that started in the early to mid 90's (man I sound old, don't I?). I will tell you that typical protocol is to not diagnose a child and treat with medication until the earliest age of 6. That should be the standard of care every where.
Avatar n tn Hi there I'm really worried about my little boy having adhd he's nearly 2 years old which I know is young to reconize symptoms of his age but his behavour is worrisome.if he can't do something straight away he gets angry and will hit, head butt anything near him.if i tell him no for anything he responseds in the same way but with me.his anger outbursts are very extreme considering he's from a calm household.
293420 tn?1243142938 There are TONS of parents who post about their toddlers/children having speech and language issues, but they have to post on Parenting Toddlers 1-5. It would be great to have all of the posts in one place and be able to track one another's progress with their children and hear stories from other parents about their S/L impaired children. I'm an SLP and I would LOVE to have a forum for this. I'm surprised that there is not one already!
Avatar m tn Have had it for a few years. I have two toddlers who I worry for greatly. I have read that HSV2 genital is not really passable via household contact. However this medical journal: http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/527730_5 states that up to 25% of HSV2 carriers may also have an oral infection, and that HSV2 transmission to kids can happen indirectly, perhaps being more common with oral infections.
Avatar f tn No no no exclusively pumping is entirely too time consuming and flat out HARD. I tried for a month and to really feed your baby the right way assuming you don't dry up, you have to pump like 13 times a day. Add that to your hungry new born, plus the two toddlers. I'd lose my mind.
Avatar n tn I have suffered from ADD symptoms as a result of my drug and alcohol use a decade ago. I have been on many ADD and anti depressant meds but all to no avail except with Wellbutrin XR and somewhat with Concerta. The Wellbutrin worked amazingly well a long time ago but stopped shortly after I took a small sip of hard liquor. My doctors are perplexed by this but that is the only explanation I can come up with.
Avatar f tn Is there any way to add MS symptoms that aren't on your list? For example, one of my worst ones is itching, so I'd like to add it. Thanks!
184674 tn?1360860493 A Child Tracker could include a chart with more age appropriate symptoms of children in toddlerhood/childhood, such as allergies, behavioral issues, nutrition, illnesses, etc. Treatments could include vaccinations (already in the Baby Tracker) along with medication treatments, behavioral counseling, dietary supplements, physical therapy, etc. for example.
Avatar n tn and yes I have terrible nausea with this pregnancy as well as intermittent vomiting. However, I work full-time and have 2 toddlers to take care of....I am extremely thankful for my live-in mother-in-law and an amazing husband! Enjoy the rest, if you can, cause when baby gets here it will all change! Hang in there!!!
5624774 tn?1374284525 Would you suggest it or no? Oh and i should add, in case something unexpected happens, i do have someone on call to come get her.
Avatar f tn Have either of you had a toddler after a Csection and have these tactics worked or are they just what you're planning on trying? That probably sounds really snotty and honest i don't mean it to sound that way but what's being said sounds good in theory but has anyone actually done it and it work out that well for them?
459210 tn?1237381603 there are also some really good ADD/ADHD sites that have a checklist of common symptoms, I could not beleive it, I ticked every box. the interesting thing is that ADD is genetic and if you have it one of your parents do.
Avatar n tn "Jack" has always been close to his cousin "Jane". They are about 1 year apart in age. Jack is 4 1/2 and Jane 3 1/2 . Jack recently complained to his mother that Jane kept wanting to play the "licking" game" and he didn't like it. From what we can tell, he told his mother that Jane taught him this game - it started that they licked each other's face and it then developed that Jane licked Jack's penis. It was this that he was complaining about.
Avatar f tn are you in treatment? if so continue. 90% of all adults will clear virus by its immune system. Only toddlers aren't capable to clear it.
Avatar n tn Two other ideas. One is that with her intelligence she gets bored fairly quickly and the words in her head is simply the way she is dealing with the boredom. And she may get so involved in daydreaming or finds the work so boring that she just isn't finishing it. If she is reading on the 5th grade level, there is no way that, "words bother her and call her stupid." But she may be missing out on the instructions? The other is, of course, the possibility of ADD.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, her symptoms are suggestive of diaper rash a type of irritant dermatitis. It seems secondary to the garments or diaper she is wearing and sweating will worsen the condition. If it is left untreated for more than 3 days then it can lead to Candida (fungal) infection. That may cause smell and discharge. Firstly, she should be taken for investigations as it should not spread and worsen.
327385 tn?1378360731 my 9yr old daughter has some problems i think she has add/adhd. she was seen by an add/adhd spealist last year. the doctor tinks she has it but wanted her teacher to fill out the forms. her teacher was complaining alot about her behavior.she has trouble listening-finishing tasks-wanting to lay in floor-alot of talking. but when i asked her teacher to help with the forms she tells me she doesent have those problems?
Avatar f tn TSH is a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid to produce hormones. It neither causes nor alleviates symptoms, nor does it adequately correlate with symptoms. Not all of us convert Free T4 to Free T3 adequately, so we have to add a med with a T3 component. I can't help but wonder if this might be your problem, but that can only be determined with FT3 and FT4 tests. Is fatigue the only symptom you have? I might suggest that you request to have vitamin B12 tested.
Avatar n tn Certainly you exhibit some of the symptoms of ADD. You are also of an age that did not focus on girls in public schools who had ADD. All the attention tended to go to those hyper little boys. So its entirely possible that you were overlooked, specially if you had the intelligence to "get by". A site that you might be interested in checking out is - http://jeffsaddmind.com/ Its for adults with ADHD, but a lot of it applies. Take a while to go through it.
Avatar f tn I have took 60 mg of vyvanse and can't sleep. I have. Two toddlers and desperately need sleep. Is it safe to take unisom u On top of the vyvanse? I don't want to OD but I'm tired.
539694 tn?1434565947 6 months ago I made a big life change occupation wise when I started a placement in a nursery to train as an early years practitioner (basically a carer for babies/toddlers). No one around me has been sick at all, neither the children nor the staff. I'm starting to wonder if I've started coming into contact with something that I'm massively allergic to, but what? Children?
