627816 tn?1349238116 Diagnostic Checklist Form E-2 and Research Questionnaire Form E-3 A high-priority goal of the Autism Research Institute (ARI) is the development of improved methods of diagnosing children with severe behavior disorders, since most medical research is highly dependent upon accurate diagnostic methods. Our Diagnostic Checklist, Form E-2, has been designed for this purpose.
627816 tn?1349238116 Our service to researchers depends in part on our having a comprehensive bank of up-to-date information about children with these severe disorders. Your help in completing the E-2 checklist and submitting them to ARI will be greatly appreciated. Diagnosis. The responses on Form E-2 are entered into a computer which calculates a diagnostic score. The score along with its interpretation is sent to the person or agency submitting the checklist.
459210 tn?1237381603 there are also some really good ADD/ADHD sites that have a checklist of common symptoms, I could not beleive it, I ticked every box. the interesting thing is that ADD is genetic and if you have it one of your parents do.
Avatar f tn The doctor will have a checklist and should be able to tell you if ADD is your problem or if there is another cause for your symptoms. Also, a psychiatrist is better trained to know whether or not you are just trying to get drugs or truly need them for a medical problem. If your doctor does not take your symptoms seriously, you should find another doctor. By the way, a psychiatrist is an MD and seeing one does not mean you are crazy so please get the treatment you need!
Avatar f tn I remember sitting through lessons not having a clue about maths, we would read a book as a whole class, everyone would be interested in it and I would be the only one in the class who was reading along but wouldnt have a clue what it is about. I have actually been assessed as 'above average' intelligence. Unfortunately these were the days when children with behavioural problems were demonised and rejected in the 60's. I left school ..
Avatar n tn Find online a baby checklist, that's what I did (I found one on pinterest).
Avatar f tn What are the symptoms in an adult to look for ADD/ADHD? I think my husband may have this.
Avatar f tn Several standardized tests and checklists have been developed to help assess the behavior of children with possible autism. These tests are also intended to further evaluate children in whom autism is considered possible (due to parent concerns, clinical clues, and/or positive screening test results). These assessment instruments can be used in various ways in assessing children with possible autism.
1789235 tn?1315156881 Yes, it is very possible to still have ADD as an adult. "current opinion indicates that many children will continue throughout life with symptoms that may affect both occupational and social functioning. Some medical researchers note that approximately 40%-50% of ADHD-hyperactive children will have (typically non-hyperactive) symptoms persist into adulthood." From http://www.rxlist.com/attention_deficit_hyperactivity_disorder_adhd/article.
967168 tn?1477584489 ve heard of CFS but never really FM and am shocked to find I have ALOT of the symptoms. This all started in Nov 1997 when I was almost 30, when I developed Group Beta Streptococcus which turned into blood sepsis. I developed hypothyroidism in 1998, and was treated for a year but then my lvls were fine (or so I thought).
127529 tn?1331840780 Autism is a spectrum disorder. It runs a RANGE of symptoms. If not all the checklist items are checked off, then we fall into another category, then another and so on. Maybe if what's left over shows in the NOS (not otherwise specified) category. It still falls somewhere still on the spectrum.
5677659 tn?1379817567 You can add breastpump, bottles of your preference. I enjoyed perfecting my baby registry and i had like 35 items on there all of which i really need. I didnt like adding things i can get for free. I have gotten almost everything free so far which is really cool and easy to do (if your ok with used items).
Avatar f tn (in children) In adults, this type of thing would show up as an Axis II personality disorder. In children, particularly 4 (very young for this kind of diagnosis, ADD/ADHD as well - and I would hold off on the meds until a second or third opinion is obtained..cheaper than treatment I'm sure...) ALSO - (I have personal experience in this - my 5 yr old girl had wild tantrums, and I was very worried,, and took her to different drs...

Avatar f tn These early warning signs of Autism do not automatically suggest autism, but are simply an Autism checklist for parents, These early signs of Autism should be monitored in all children and if exist further evaluation should occur. This aids in early detection and treatment for Autism .Your child's pediatrician should be asking questions regarding your child's developmental milestones at each regular check-up and if you have any concerns share it with your doctor.

1138612 tn?1363532444 In, "The ADD/ ADHD Answer book," by Susan Ashley, she says (p.158) that between 8 to 30% of kids develop tics who have been treated with stimulants. She mentions that the tics usually stop when the medication is terminated. So doctors will usually stop the meds and switch to a different class. At any rate, yes it is unfortunately a not uncommon issue. Do let your doctor know what is going on. Best wishes.
Avatar m tn My comments might be considered as more general, based on observation and an intense interest in the welfare of children. The family is in the medical community and its related professions. One member deals with children with academic problems and another with programs for gifted children.
Avatar f tn You asked," My question is why didn't they dignose me with ADD when they dignose me with bipolar." In the, "The ADD/ ADHD Answer book," by Susan Ashley (you might want to buy it), she says (p. 68), "one of the biggest challenges has been to differentiate children with manic symptoms of bipolar from those with ADHD." And the problem is that you don't usually want to use a stimulant medication on people with Bipolar.
757137 tn?1347196453 There was a news item today that claimed a connection between ADD and the use of organophosphates (a pesticide) on the food we eat. Apparently, in tests it was found that children with ADD tended to have very high levels (well above he norm) of this poison in their systems. I will see what more I can learn about this. Even when we are conscientious in caring for our children there are hidden dangers all around us.
639543 tn?1297027634 Kimberlee- Your list is quite helpful it reminded me to bring my own pads the hosp ones are awful. Too cute you are so prepared! Grose- I did it for awhile with my older two but they were both big babies and it just wasn't filling them up. I will see how big he is and most likely switch back and forth from bottle to the breast! Mumita- If you only use your breast the baby will get to used to it and you may find it hard to ween them off and on to the bottle when you go back to work.
