I mentioned several times on this forum that a herpes cream called ZOVIRAX can also treat warts. I used it several years ago and it was very effective: the warts were permanently removed in a couple of days and no surgery was needed.

The article says that 'ZOVIRAX can control the severity of warts' but in my case, it did much more than that: it actually cured the infection entirely.
ll have an answer but anything would help. First off, I was originally prescribed acyclovir 200 mg, 2 pills 3 times a day. I have a couple refills on it but the thought of always having to go to the doctor really depresses me and I'm scared to death of someone seeing me especially at the pharmacy. When my refills are out, I have been planning on ordering Zovirax online in the dosage prescribd by my doctor. I know this is probably advised against, but are there any risks in doing this?
It was 5-6 days after the unprotected contact ...and I lost contact with that girl because of this... Didn't want to speak with her again... And the fact when I hade the blisters and cold sores also burning sensation when I gone to pee i call to set appointment but it took few days so I search online and it looked and felt like herpes so I buy Zovirax cream .. And it helped...
About 3 months ago multiple small bumps appeared on my penile shaft , after first week of noticing them I went to urgent care, doctor told me they don't look like herpes and said I should just apply anti itching cream ( bumps never itch ) lesions would be gone in 2 weeks .
not sure why the provider gave you once daily acyclovir when they didn't think you had herpes going on. once daily acyclovir doesn't do anything anyways and it's not something we use for hpv. I'm not sure that is a provider I'd see again.
probably over reacting to think you have a std from that night. many things can cause rashes and a newly acquired hpv infection wouldn't have shown up in a week like that either.
At that time I had no blisters. For the next week, that redish spot got bigger and I used zovirax cream to treat it. Zovirax burned the skin in that area and appeared some dead skin instead. After removing the dead skin with mi nail, that area become again very redish and a few hours later had blisters all over. Went to the doctor and I was told it was herpes. I took acyclovir and the herpes healed after a week.
the cream isn't very worthwhile so don't bother asking for a prescription for it.
Chapped lips is not a known side effect of the herpes antivirals. Probably it's not related. Just continue using lip moisturizers to help with it.
If you get fever blisters on your mouth often, have your dentist or doctor give you a prescription for Zovirax cream. I have found that if I apply that at first symptoms it effectively stops its progression. Beware, though as Zovirax has teratogenic side effects (can cause birth defects in developing embryos). Don't use this if you are a female and are pregnant or getting ready for a pregnancy. (Wait 90 days).

I have been prescribed 5 x 200 mg acyclovir/Zovirax a day when I have a facial HSV outbreak. The prescription and drug info says to continue treatment for 5 (to 10) days, but often the outbreak is gone within 3 days.
My doctor couldn't provide the arguments for continuing the treatment for the full 5 days even though the OB is gone. Does anyone know???

In the mean time my doctor prescribed acyclovir 800mg to be take one table 5 times a day. I also got zovirax ointment to put on the mouth ulcer 3 times a day and this stuff is really bitter. In addition, before I saw my general physician, I was given nystatin oral suspension by an ER doctor and he told to me to use it 4 times a day for 7 days. I did, but the thrush is still there. I been told that oral thrush on the tongue causes bad breath, but to be honest with you I do not have bad breath.
ok, i cameback to the doctor that she gave me (Zovirax) and I showed her the analysis, she told me because you respond to zovirax so you were have HSV, I asked her for MRSA that appeared in Tongue swab, she told me you don't have MRSA, it's normal to apeeare in this analysis.

I am a 21yr old female, i recently had what i thought was a cold sore on my lip, i say what i thought because i don't get them very often and so i am unused to the symptoms, i used zovirax on it until the spot was gone, although it didn't blister and didn't hurt as much as i remember cold sores ought to.
