Acyclovir no rx

Common Questions and Answers about Acyclovir no rx

famvir

Avatar f tn I just found out that a family member has Acyclovir. My question is, can I take Acyclovir for the second dose, 12 hours after taking the first dose of Valtrex?
Avatar f tn There is more study to be done whether there is any connection at all. Certainly, there is no evidence that acyclovir prevents dementia, though some more study in that area might still be coming. What the studies do show for a fact is that even mild exercise seems to completely erase any possible association between HSV and dementia. So while the connection between HSV and and dementia is currently just a hypothesis, the association between exercise as a preventive against dementia is not!
Avatar n tn Has anyone noticed that there is a shortage of Acyclovir in the US? I live on the East coast and have found that it is very hard to get my prescription re-filled. I take 400mg x2 a day for suppression and I have only been able to get 200mg. With some difficulty I might add. It isn't the end of the world but I am concerned about the supply in a month when I go for another re-fill. I read on the FDA web site that there is currently a shortage. http://www.fda.
Avatar m tn HSV 1/2 IGG Herpeselect HSV 1 IGG Type Specific AB---0.18 HSV 2 IGG Type Specific AB---0.02 10/1- Urolologist said no HSV-2 based on blood serum test. D/C Acyclovir on 10/1. Still have itchy red testicles and itchy pubis, buttocks, and anus but to lesser degree. 1) Is DNA Swab test conclusive diagnosis of HSV-2? 2) If so, how can that test result be reconciled with negative antibody test taken 14 weeks after exposure? 3) Should I take another blood serum test?
Avatar m tn I’ve been getting Inderal (Propranolol), Cozaar (Losartan), Atorvastatin, Omeprazole, Aciclovir (Acyclovir) and declaring them every trip. No problems! Rx isn’t required. You will not be able to purchase DEA regulated meds, i.e. Oxycodone, etc. Be smart and don’t even ask or talk to a salesperson about them.
Avatar n tn oh and I forgot - when it comes to recurrences - the sooner you start the antivirals the better. Don't wait until it's a full blown ob - start it at the first sign of a possible ob. You can even often head off a full blown ob if you can get them started early on.
Avatar f tn Also, there are 2 spots above my clitoris (where the labia split) that look like little papercuts that burn and itch. On my acyclovir rx label it says to increase the dosage to 2 tabs three times daily for 2 days during an outbreak and Ive done that but it did not help the situation. I would normally go to the dr. immediately but they will be closed until next monday after the holiday. I really dont know if this is a herpes outbreak (if so then why didnt the meds work?
Avatar n tn On 3/21/07 she had stomach flu,5/24/07 she woke up with a bloody looking eye it's ALWAYS on the same eye (right)on the inner part of the sclera & it never spreads to the other eye,she always says it hurts & it swells up a little. Her pediatrician thought it was conjuvitis & rx Ofloxacin .3% it cleared up in 3 days.
Avatar n tn Is it possible for my partner to become infected through unprotected oral sex or vaginal sex when there are no symptoms present? Would Rx therapy be helpful? I take Lysine+, Echinacea, Zinc, Selenium, Vit D3 and a variety of other vitimin supplements daily. Your comments will be deeply appreciated.
Avatar f tn I took Acyclovir for genital herpes (gyno confirmed with test) starting 2/15 (this was my first OB). I have since stopped the medication (2/26) after follow up with my dr as the OB had cleared up (actually cleared up on 2/22 but I didn't understand to stop taking the rx once clear). Since 2/26 I have had trouble with the way my skin feels. It started with prickly pins and needles for about two days in my left leg and rear...which just seemed itchy and uncomfortable.
Avatar n tn Just got the test results back from my doctor, my blood work came back hsv1 positive, but i am currently experiencing my first hsv2 outbreak which means i recently contracted it from my girlfriend who had no symptoms, this sucks but its not too bad yet. I am on the 2nd week of the outbreak have a relatively mild case no flu symptoms, slight leg pain, and of course the few sores. Just looking for some advice on what remedies I can use, and what people have had results with.
Avatar f tn L-lysine is VERY effective, I've been using it for years. You need more l-lysine with Vit C, like 3000-4000 mg every 3 or 4 hours on a full stomach. (If you're having an outbreak or about to have one) if you're just trying to suppress it take about 1000 mg per day. & then after a month or two, you can give your body a break for a few days or a week. Also you can't take it with milk or it's ineffective.
Avatar m tn Like most I cannot afford Valtrex any more. I have switched to Acyclovir. I've used it effectively for the couple of outbreaks but it seems to be taking considerably longer. I am taking L-Lysene as a suppressor and only take the Acyclovir at the first sign of an outbreak. I was taking 1000mg Valtrex at onset and then 500mg twice a day and everything was clear in 3 days. To get the same effectiveness from Acyclovir how much should I be taking daily during out breaks?
Avatar f tn So first, you've had oral herpes for a long time, which means you have antibodies that protects you from getting hsv1 in another location on your body. Autoinoculation (infecting yourself in another part of the body) is not that common, and your doctor is correct - you'd have to directly touch a sore, then touch your genitals or your eye, or whatever. Also, you're on acyclovir. That would make it really unlikely that you'd get a genital outbreak.
20928354 tn?1683064511 Dr called in wrong rx, then 2weeks later called in normal rx and now all local pharmacies are out of the rx... I have begun to feel very sick, diarrhea and headache , no appetite, pain everywhere. I don't know what to do. I didnt get the wrong rx filled.... I wanted the correct dose so now i am out and am scared as to what i need to do.
Avatar f tn I was tested positive for HSV2 back in May, I would say my first outbreak was 6 months before that but was told by my doctor it was an ingrown hair (outbreak was on bikini line) It then spread to my labia (this was the sore that I got a positive test from) I made the decision that I wanted to do the suppressive therapy taking acyclovir twice daily, this helped the outbreaks but the symptoms hadn’t gone at all, I was then told to take acyclovir three times a day..
Avatar m tn i started taking acyclovir a few days ago for the first time for a mild cold sore breakout. 2 days after i started, the cold sores got more intense, and 2 new huge cold sores came up out of nowhere. i have 3 more days left of the medication, and i'm going to keep taking it, but what should i do? these cold sores are not going away, and it seems like its getting worse! so done with these friggin things...
1302779 tn?1287405029 the doses you take for recurrences do tend to give the headaches :( do you take advil or anything along with the acyclovir knowing that it's likely to cause you to get a headache?
Avatar m tn Does Acyclovir make anyone else feel completely terrible? I get terrible headaches, dizzy, diarrhea and feel just awful. im not sure which is worse sometimes.
Avatar f tn I recently went in for my well woman check up, so that I could get back on birth control and requested that my NP run a full std panel, since it had been awhile since I had been tested for anything, and was shocked when she told me that I have hsv 1&2. My igg score for hsv 1 was 3.25 and hsv 2 1.63. Told my now ex bf who said his results came back yesterday and he said he was negative I do not know his score. Is it possible that this is a false positive?
Avatar m tn In addition, other studies have conclusively shown that taking acyclovir has NO effect in delaying development of positive test results in person with HIV. The manifestations of infection are no different, the time course of developing positive tests are no different and the window period is no different. Bottom line, as you have already heard, your test results are reliable. You did not get HIV from the exposures you mentioned. Put your concerns aside and move forward.
280418 tn?1306325910 m now covered in a rash of red bumps on my thighs, elbow and behind one ear and it is really itchy. I have been taking minocycline for over a week. I started acyclovir (Valtrex) for my HSV-1 last night. Now...the rash. Could this be the new med or herxing? Neither?
Avatar f tn My second OB was about 9 months later and consisted of red and itchy skin around my genitals. It cleared up within a week. I am on suppressive therapy with acyclovir. About three weeks ago, I felt burning pain in my right lower butt cheek. I also had a yeast infection. Well, the yeast infection cleared up, but the pain remained and I had shooting pains and tingles in both of my legs. I keep taking the antivirals as well as healthy doses of lysine and other vitamins.
