Avatar n tn His main concern is the burning on top of his feet. Is there anything natural, homeopathic, etc. that might help. My father served thru WWII, Korea and Vietnam and still gardens 2 acres. He is a tough old bird but the lack of good sleep is hurting his health.A website or anything will help.If this doesn't help I will be buying every bogus cure on the internet.
Avatar n tn Id look at teying alternative / natural products to see if that helps.
Avatar n tn What mad eyou start suppressive therapy? You might want to consider switching to acyclovir or famvir instead and see if you do better on either of those. You can even start off at a low, subtheraputic dose and gradually increase your dose over the course of 2-3 weeks and see if you tolerate that better too.
Avatar m tn some folks do better on the lower acyclovir levels you get in your body from acyclovir than they do the higher levels in valtrex.
Avatar f tn After taking Acyclovir I noticed I've encountered a severe outbreak. Even worse than before taking the medication. This has been so frustrating too say the least. I have been having continuous outbreaks since October 2015, my partner has not had one outbreak. Since my doctors diagnosis I have been so discouraged too say the least. Can someone please recommend anything natural I can take. I'm overwhelmed with this process Please help me...
Avatar n tn Looking for feedback/suggestions on how to best suppress the HSV2 using natural remedies. Are the only optoins from a pharmaceutical company or are there reasonable methods that can be found in the neighborhood health store and pharmacy?
Avatar n tn My main concern was to continue eating medical that I did not knowing what would be the effect of long term use. I tried to find a natural herbal alternative and tried many and finally I tested Alviralco and it worked, total natural. I just want to share this with you and tell you that there is hope and alternative, you just have to keep looking.
Avatar f tn herpes doesn't "never go away" . even though you have hsv2, that doesn't mean that everything going on genitally is due to herpes. following up with the dermatologist if your gyn is stumped is a good idea. Many skin sensitivities that can occur and having the 2 of them work together, is often very helpful. Have you ever googled vulvodynia? how were you diagnosed as having hsv2? did you have a lesion culture done?
Avatar n tn Is there any form of alternative/natural treatment for herpes other than prescription drugs? How effective is this type of treatment?I ask this because prescription drugs for herpes are so expensive and also the possible side effects from the drugs. Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn Hi grace long time since I spoke with you. I have been taking Lysine for outbreaks since April 2013 and my outbreaks seem to be under control. I decided to give it a try because it's natural as opposed to acyclovir also I want to see how my body responds to it. So far things seems to be fine although I have been only taking it for two months. Grace have you ever taken it or know someone who has and what has the outcome been for them.
Avatar f tn I would like some advice on getting some type of OTC drug or natural supplement that may replace antibiotics. I have had a sinus and gum infection along w/headaches and tooth pain for 4 mos. I live in VA., and they don't sell antibiotics OTC like some sates do. In addition, I have BV and I hope that the antibiotic would help that too. Also, I'm uninsured and cannot see a physician, therefore, I cannot obtain a prescription.
Avatar n tn I prefer to not get on the chemical merry-go-round if at all possible, which require more medications and so forth and go the naturopathic route as that has no side effects, so is there a natural regimen I can take for the problem?
Avatar f tn That should always be your first resort, since medication will not cure you, it will only treat symptoms. As for natural remedies, they are complicated and not so easy to describe how to use them, so the best bet is to see a naturopath if you want to try that road. A book to read is Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist at UCLA. We also don't know how old you are, and both certain medications and some natural remedies are inappropriate for people under a certain age.
Avatar m tn Has anyone used natural therapies for allergies with success? I found this: http://***.*****.com/allergies/all-modality/allergies/miscellaneous/which-alternative-therapies-are-used-in-the-treatment-of-allergies-and-how-effective-are-they.html which seems like a great resource. I've tried QBC (quercitin, bromelein, Vitamin C) mixes and had some luck with those, but only if I remember to take them all the time.
Avatar n tn 500 mg three times a day with meals Green tea extract (decaffeinated): 100 mg a day Grape seed extract: 100 mg a day Vitamin D3: 1,000 IU a day, Red Yeast Rice If you are currently on statins, you should share you concerns with your physician. Avatar f tn had what appeared to be two bug bites on buttocks, that joined together and formed many vesicles. Acyclovir was begun the 2nd day(1600 to 1200 mg per day) for 12 days. The vesicles never fully developed and over 3 weeks the lesion subsided. No test was done. Two days ago a bug bite appeared on the lower abdomen, above pubic area. It is red and has one blister in the center and is sore. Perhaps more vesicles will develop. . No acyclovir this time.
Avatar f tn "Also, I'm hesitant to use valtrex or acyclovir for my first outbreak because I want to develop the strongest antibodies that my body can produce with out suppressive drugs. Is this idiotic?
Avatar m tn but who really knows if the natural cures can slow the progression until we die of natural causes...i guess most people dont want to take a chance....like me...id rather kill the beast now with big pharma..but one thing is for sure....
Avatar n tn s what they do to make money, whereas most therapy nowadays is done by psychologists and other therapists. As for natural remedies, a book to help you is Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist at UCLA. It's a good place to start, though the book is old. Because natural medicine works on different parts of the system instead of using just one remedy generally, it might be best to see a professional, such as a naturopath or physician who practices integrative medicine.
Avatar f tn Are they migraines, which is what imitrex is for (not sure of the relevance of coumadin for headaches)? There are natural remedies for migraines, but they'd be different than treating headaches, for which one would need to know what kind of headache.
