The nect week I got another yeast infection and it went away after a monistat application. I have another yeast infection rigvht now and have not had to take the acyclovir since last month. I'm wondering if i'm going to have a yeast infection every month now and how common this is for other people with similar situations as myself and how should i go about treating this? Will my body build up immunities to one dose over the counter inserts?
if you think you are having a herpes ob - march yourself to the doctor today for a lesion culture and typing to confirm your herpes infection. Also get tested for yeast and bacterial infections too. Don't assume anything on your own at home - go get properly tested and treated.
I took a couple blood tests to confirm the sore I had developed in my vaginal area was herpes. It came back negative at first but then positive. I have had vaginal swabs in the mean time which did show vaginal yeast. I have been thinking to test again just to be sure. My ex says he hasn't had any outbreaks since his first but I have read that is normal. I just attributed my frequent OBs to my MS.
definitely return to your provider this week or next and get a proper test for yeast and bacterial infections. make sure neither of them are triggering frequent recurrences for you.
why not suppressive therapy if you are having monthly ob's? even if they are "mild", isn't that just a pain in the butt to go through?
don't self treat for yeast, go and be seen and get properly tested. it's well worth the effort. just because you had yeast before, doesn't mean that this is yeast now.
But by the end of week 2, more sores started appearing and my urination started to get very painful again. I should say I am on Acyclovir 400 mgs twice/day, and was on an antibiotic the first week, plus pain pills.
I went back to doctor today because of the new outbreak and she upped the Acyclovir to 400 mgs every 4 hrs and put me on another antiobiotic for a bacterial infection.
correct - he's negative and so are you so no reason to take acyclovir. You don't have any reason to think that you have genital herpes.

Are you taking suppressive medication, like acyclovir or Valtrex? It sounds like your hormones around ovulation are triggering outbreaks for you. I'd urge you to talk to your doctor and let them know that you are getting at least 1 outbreak a month, and you'd like to try suppressives.
Valtrex and acylovir work pretty much the same way.
also if everything is itchy down yonder, you should be seen again and get tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too. bv especially often occurs without obvious discharge and can make herpes linger too.
i am very prone to yeast infections and BV, so when i developed a maddening itch i figured it was one of these. i went to the doctor again, she looked in there and said that the discharge did kind of look like herpes discharge but told me she couldnt give me a definitive diagnosis. she put me on acyclovir. my symptoms got alot worse and then better for a day or two but didnt go away. ive been off of the meds for a few days and talked to the doctor again.

t have alot of money right now for an outside dr and my hmo dr considers it a done deal, positive culture, script for acyclovir and out the door they send me. can you get a tytpe from the culture test? when i had it done before they told me the culture test was positive and when i asked them for the type they said they don't do that.
You need to go and be seen this week and get a proper exam done. get tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally. If this is vaginitis going on and not herpes currently, all the acyclovir in the world won't make things better.
I have since had Igg for herpes 2 and it was negative. I have been taking two 800 mg of acyclovir since 2012, still no results. I cannot afford anything else, because I have no insurance. I just want to die! Please help me?
Many things can cause these sorts of lesions, even vaginal yeast infections. If you continue to get sores and test negative for herpes on your repeat testing, be sure to seek out additional follow up with a dermatologist to try to figure out what is causing your symptoms.
Does anyone have any ideas of what this could be if not caused by HSV 1? Since the monolaurin works so well and is also used to treat staph and yeast infections, I wonder if it could be bacterial. Is that a thing? Chronic bacterial or yeast infections?
Hi Grace. I should have mentioned that I have oral hsv1. 99.9% sure I'm having classic cold sore prodrome symptoms.
Then on Feb 23rd I stated to have yeast infection symptoms the itching and burning on urination. I actually get yeast infections often so I went and bought a 3 day treatment well it didn't seem to help so I was just leaving it alone and going to let it go away on its own but it never really did go away. I met someone new and we started having protected sex but I was so raw I couldn't have sex the first time and I assumed it was from the yeast infection which was on Feb 28th.
