i had a shiny hump on the left side of my urethral lining, i visited my doctor about two months ago and he suggested that it was herpes ulcer and prescribed acyclovir cream. now its all reddish inside but the left hump has decreased in size j but the seam to be some fleshy stuff growing on the right side, causes a tingly sensation and at time discomfort pain like i touched it with chillies on my fingers. i am confused , could this really be herpes or warts.
I started taking acyclovir in June 2010 for episodes and then went on and started taking it in September for suppressive theraphy. The last outbreak I had was in November I have been having lesser outbreaks but when will I be outbreak free because I have been having outbreaks for 2 years and 3 months that is a long time to be still having outbreaks don't you think.
I have had herpes simplex type 2 (genital) for about 2.5 years. Acyclovir and lysine have reduced outbreaks dramatically. If I have unprotected sex with a partner who has been tested for herpes simplex 2 ( the test results indicate that exposure was quite awhile ago), will I risk causing my partner to have an outbreak? Will my partner's herpes cause me to have an outbreak?
I have been to the doctor and have taken Ampicillin, metronidazole, Acyclovir, ketoconazole in that order. I recently went to the Dermatoligist and he gave me Cloderm to apply to the infected area. Now it is spreading down the penis. I have also had tingling in my fingers and toes but I'm not sure if that is related. I am also very sensitive to Poison Ivy. Can you help me?
When I first noticed the bump, I went to the doctor. He tested me, and I came back positive for HSV2. I started taking suppressive meds (acyclovir 800mg/day). The bump popped, diminished, then a month later came back, still no itch, no pain. I'm thinking this is a HSV2 outbreak and treat it with increased acyclovir. Time goes by and I'm asking questions on the HSV bulletin boards, and its not adding up. Finally I figure out it must be a wart.
I was reading however that having no symptoms for hsv and having such low results it was advices to get retested although having genital warts I thought that was one manifestation of the hsv virus so I got retested for all std at planned parenthood and my test results came back as negative for hsv 2 I asked the nurse what kind of test and the number of my results and she told me that the test was igg (which was also the one from Mexico) and that the number was .
I went to the doctors to get checked out, and he took a look and prescribed me Acyclovir. I have been taking acyclovir for the past 20 days and my outbreak is still there no of the lesions have popped and gone away. I have been bringing a ton of water and not eating processed food. Shouldn't it have cleared up by now? This is my initial outbreak and like I said before it has been three weeks since the start of the outbreak now. Any advice would be appreciated.
I did a blood test, HSV 1 + 2 antibodies, IGM and IGG. The IGM came bak positive, and the IGG came back negative, suggesting acute or recent infection. I read that only a swab performed on a recent outbreak lesion would be able to establish which type of herpes I have. But by the time I did the blood test, the herpes lesions had already disappeared.
s and my dermatologist, treating me for some psoriasis on my buttocks, indicated I had a herpes sore on the left one. He gave me acyclovir (5 pills a day) and I am on the third day. I have developed another sore on the other buttock and can't tell if it is herpes or not. I began waking up in the middle of the night a couple of weeks ago with terrible pain in the left buttock that sometimes travelled down my leg.
However, I am at my breaking point and need something that will make these goose bumps, which ultimately form into actually warts over time ( some do, majority do not) go away. I tried acyclovir and valtrax to prevent outbreaks a while ago. Again, not a fan of using these drugs, but I need help!
I try not to get stressed out and stay as active as possible. I pray everyday for a cure. Does anyone else experience this? Is this what happens to people with genital herpes...is this normal?
and put me on 1,000 x 3 acyclovir for a week and an antiviral creme. She thought the eye was likely nothing but irritation. The itching stopped after a couple of days, and while the eye was more irritated the next day...including some unusual jabs of shocking pain 3-4 times, but went away entirely after that. I saw my primary Dr on the 4th, and he stated that the pimple just looked like an ingrown hair, told me I had nothing to worry about but that I could finish the acyclovir if I wanted too.

First, is your HPV infection active? Are you having visible symptoms such as warts or are you getting abnormal paps? If you aren't, how long has it been? About 90% people clear the virus within 2 years, most within several months. If its been several months since your last symptoms, or you've had at least 2 normal paps in a row, then you probably aren't infectious anymore.
Does your gf know what type of herpes she has?
My daughter was diagnosed with Behcet's in 2008. Then in 2009 she contracted herpes (hsv2). She is now having an outbreak of herpes (starting to get under control after 2 rounds of valtrex, back on acyclovir for 2 days) and a flare of Behcet's. Prednisone will make the painful vaginal Behcet's lesions go away but will cause another outbreak of herpes.
Does anyone have any suggestions? She's about to leave for a required college trip.

However, in August 2008 I started getting outbreaks and I thought it was genital warts but it turned out to be genital herpes and I am still having outbreaks my last outbreak was in November but I am on suppressive theraphy.I would like to know when will the outbreaks stop and doesn't the immune system clears the virus in about 2 years because I am still having outbreaks and it's been two years and three months.
The last time I had sex was August 3, since then I didnt have sex, few weeks ago, I had some perineum cuts. I went to OB-GYNE and had pap test and High Vaginal Swab test, tests were normal, I asked my OB about the cuts, she can't even explain to me, she just gave FUCICORT cream which I applied to my perineum cuts(from vagina to anus), these perineum cuts are like paper cuts, and after I put the cream, after a day, it's gone, then it didn't come back, but since starting of Nov.
If she has HPV-16 and warts, she has two separate HPV infections. Almost all genital warts are caused by HPV types 6 or 11.
To your specific questions:
1) I'm not sure where the herpes question comes from. You describe nothing that suggests your wife has genital herpes. But yes, it is possible to have HSV-1 both orally and genitally. But only if they are caught at the same time.
My doctor was referring to a study wehre Acyclovir slowed disease progression in HIV by reducing viral load. And so he thought Acyclovir might have a direct effect (even if it is low) on HIV. Maybe he thought that by decreasing viral load antybodies would show up later than in the absence of Acyclovir?
I can't tell you what it means, but my doctor said kinda the same thing. She put me on acyclovir for a week and told me to come back in two months. Mine was actually about my IgM number (both my IgGs where too soon to determine if they were positive or negative), which is apparently highly unreliable. She pointed to the IgM and said, "come back and get tested in 2 months and maybe this will be nothing." I haven't had any symptoms either.
Once and awhile I will get a migraine often accompanied with with a scalp breakout and I stop taking the Acyclovir and lysine until the pain goes away. Then I resume my acyclovir and lysine. I now rarely have any problems. But I always have to go a week once and a while without my Acyclovir and Lysine. Is the herpes virus simply one of my triggers or is the herpes virus the root cause off all my migraines, I don't know. The pain and breakouts are always hemispheric in nature.
