You'd have to have a risk and test positive for these or any std's to be prescribed medication and your doctor would easily be able to do that. Syphilis is treated with antibiotics with penicillin often given. Herpes does not go away although people with herpes take medication to end an outbreak and often to suppress future outbreaks. These are antiviral medications like Acyclovir. But from your previous posts, you were told you didn't have a risk.
I went to get it checked out and was told it was Syphilis and received the penicillin shot and for the next week the lesion healed up and the bumps went away.
During the visit I was also tested for Chlamydia and Herpes. They told me the culture test for herpes came back positive although the penicillin healed the bumps and lesion.
Since they are gone, I can not go for another test. How should I handle this situation?
I was diagnosed for secondary stage syphillis, had red spots on the body and pain & discomfort on my joints & throughout my body.
As a precaution for syphilis, she gave me an IM Penicillin injection and prescribed Diflucan for the yeast. She did not swab the lesion itself.
My blood test results returned the next day and were WNL and negative for your standard STD's and HIV (HSV was the only one not tested). The only abnormality was an increased level of erythrocyte sedimentation rate.
What are the contraindications of taking penicillin and valacyclovir during the same cycle ? Can they both be taken on the same day ?
Both prevacid and prilosec have the same actions so they do the same things. The only interaction that I know of with prevacid and penicillin is with a type of penicillin called Ampicillin and it may inhibit the absorption of the prevacid.
Yes my first herpes sore I had gotten the night before I also had what looked like strep throat I went to the dr the very next morning an had a throat and herpes simplex culture I was prescribed penicillin and acyclovir I got the results a week later my throat culture was normal which I thought was weird and my viral culture was positive for herpes. But yes the sore went away the very next day'! So weird!
My daughter was diagnosed with Behcet's in 2008. Then in 2009 she contracted herpes (hsv2). She is now having an outbreak of herpes (starting to get under control after 2 rounds of valtrex, back on acyclovir for 2 days) and a flare of Behcet's. Prednisone will make the painful vaginal Behcet's lesions go away but will cause another outbreak of herpes.
Does anyone have any suggestions? She's about to leave for a required college trip.

Iam having a terrible toothache the dentist said it is my wisdom tooth growing below my other tooth.She prescribed penicillin due to infections and I have a fever. I am scared to take it thinking that it may affect my babies. I am pregnant with twins.My first pregnancy ended in m/c at 5 1/2/ months.She said its ok for pregnant women to take.I am still taking my progestorones.

My doctor was referring to a study wehre Acyclovir slowed disease progression in HIV by reducing viral load. And so he thought Acyclovir might have a direct effect (even if it is low) on HIV. Maybe he thought that by decreasing viral load antybodies would show up later than in the absence of Acyclovir?
I have been on Penicillin VK for a few days due to some upcoming dental work. I know that gonhorrea and ngu are the only real (albeit very small) risks, and typically your advice to people is that if they haven't had any symptoms of discharge etc. that you do not recommend testing. Does my Penicillin VK change that advice? I have a "normal" sex partner that I want to keep safe.
Once and awhile I will get a migraine often accompanied with with a scalp breakout and I stop taking the Acyclovir and lysine until the pain goes away. Then I resume my acyclovir and lysine. I now rarely have any problems. But I always have to go a week once and a while without my Acyclovir and Lysine. Is the herpes virus simply one of my triggers or is the herpes virus the root cause off all my migraines, I don't know. The pain and breakouts are always hemispheric in nature.

one week penicillin concurrent with one week acyclovir, one week mouthwash (swallow) with hydrocortisone powder, nystatin, tetracycline, and diphenhydramine. two weeks tylenol, sporadically, never more than 3 g in one day.
At the time of the test, I was still taking viscous lidocaine for throat ulcers. Used two 100 ml bottles in four weeks, just started third bottle.

m feeling a little better I went to my dermatologist and he said it could be either shingles, herpes, pemphigus, or just a thing. Few Lesions (pimple like with red base) come and go everywhere in my body (cheeks, forehead, ear pinna, eyelids, chest, arm, forearm...). I have took acyclovir only for 10 days in October and am suffering a couple of lesions coming up and clearing in few days every now and then. This is companied by random itching occurring in different parts of the body without visible lesions, I also felt some shooting pain for a few seconds (rarely) into my penis.
I use acyclovir to and you must know that it doesnt take effect spontaneously especially the first time your using it. It helps relieve the pain though but might take some time to take effect. Just continue use it and youll see the sore will go away within 3-4 days instead of the usual 7-8 days they take to go away.
