I still have extreme sensitivity and the muscle aches and joint pain are pretty bad, coming and going but always there. Its also accompanied with a sore/swollen throat I've had for 2 weeks.
My main question is about the aches and joint pain and sore throat. Can Herpes do this? I suspect I picked up the virus about 3 months before my first signs of pain. Can these aches and pains be from herpes? I'm also worried about it possibly being CFS, but not really fatigued at all.
Herpes Simplex 1 and 2 can BOTH cause neuropathic pain syndromes. It is not limited to herpes zoster. There is plenty of research out there about it. I cannot understand why MDs are still ignorant of this or denying the association, when there is ample material in the literature documenting this problem. HSV infections are epidemic. It's time for primary care physicians to get current on the subclinical (not visually observable) and atypical (non-standard) manifestations of the disease.
Once and awhile I will get a migraine often accompanied with with a scalp breakout and I stop taking the Acyclovir and lysine until the pain goes away. Then I resume my acyclovir and lysine. I now rarely have any problems. But I always have to go a week once and a while without my Acyclovir and Lysine. Is the herpes virus simply one of my triggers or is the herpes virus the root cause off all my migraines, I don't know. The pain and breakouts are always hemispheric in nature.

I underwent the DVU(to treat the stricture) successfully. After one week and a half, I developed 3 blisters on my glans and was put on acyclovir 400mg,five times a day.Initially the urethral burning resolved, but with the introduction of acyclovir it returned albeit mildly. Could this b one of its side effects? I also feel lower back exhaustion(not pain coz its dull). Cld this b its side effect or due to the spinal anaesthesia that my surgeon/urologist used?
No fever, right lower abdominal pain, joint pain, burning pain around navel and stomach, cramping back pain. The pain is unbearable and is aggravated by walking and moving. Distended abdomen. I pass little to no gas which is not typical of me.

Few Lesions (pimple like with red base) come and go everywhere in my body (cheeks, forehead, ear pinna, eyelids, chest, arm, forearm...). I have took acyclovir only for 10 days in October and am suffering a couple of lesions coming up and clearing in few days every now and then. This is companied by random itching occurring in different parts of the body without visible lesions, I also felt some shooting pain for a few seconds (rarely) into my penis.

You need to be concerned about the cumulative side effects of the two drugs.
The bumps started showing over a week and as they got larger the joint pain spread up the finger and across the hand. As it got worse we noticed the pad on her hand next to the index finger was swelling with a lot of pain to the touch. We talked to another ortho doc and he said it was carpel tunnel, or trigger finger and wants to inject steroids. He did xrays and the bumps did not show so he ignored them and no other testing was done.
I use acyclovir to and you must know that it doesnt take effect spontaneously especially the first time your using it. It helps relieve the pain though but might take some time to take effect. Just continue use it and youll see the sore will go away within 3-4 days instead of the usual 7-8 days they take to go away.
I was diagnosed with HSV 2 in 2009. I have recently taken myself off of Acyclovir due to the cost without insurance. I have leg pain again, which I haven't had since my first outbreak. Does this leg pain subside/decrease over the years like the trend of outbreaks?
But by the end of week 2, more sores started appearing and my urination started to get very painful again. I should say I am on Acyclovir 400 mgs twice/day, and was on an antibiotic the first week, plus pain pills.
I went back to doctor today because of the new outbreak and she upped the Acyclovir to 400 mgs every 4 hrs and put me on another antiobiotic for a bacterial infection.
I rushed to the dermatologist and told him my condition. He said I have clinical herpes and gave me Acyclovir for 7 days with Ezythromycin for 3 days. I had developed a very bad cough meanwhile with pain in my knee, shoulder. My right shoulder (whole area) went severely spastic and would hurt bad when I coughed. Also, I started feeling that 2 points on the either sides at the back of my head are swollen.
I don't care what some docs say I do believe Herpes can cause an array of neuropathic pain symptoms. I recently got diagnosed & have had chronic flareup of nerve pain in the distribution of the sacral dermatome (as the docs say), but also involving the entire spine into hands/arms, face/scalp ears. Perhaps there was an underlying neural excitability (i've suffered nerve pain from other diagnoses & multiple car accidents with neck/back sprains and a concussion).
A few days after the test I had an aborted herpes outbreak (took my acyclovir and had no fever, no legions, just the typical muscle pain and tingling that I get). One of the reasons that I'm finding it hard to let go of the incident and my HIV fear is that the outbreak was a long one, and I find myself left with intermittent muscle and joint pain.
My daughter was diagnosed with Behcet's in 2008. Then in 2009 she contracted herpes (hsv2). She is now having an outbreak of herpes (starting to get under control after 2 rounds of valtrex, back on acyclovir for 2 days) and a flare of Behcet's. Prednisone will make the painful vaginal Behcet's lesions go away but will cause another outbreak of herpes.
Does anyone have any suggestions? She's about to leave for a required college trip.

I have been getting outbreaks Quite regularly, I have tried MMS, Hydrogen peroxide and DMSO and oxygenated water, even silver have. Nothing worked and on top of that things were getting worse, more outbreaks. So if you try to respond and convince me to try the things (I mentioned here), please don't waste your time. It appears that all these things that I mentioned and tried, were just aggravating the virus. I have been on acyclovir for about 1 year now. So far no outbreak.
The symptoms I get from Valtrex is headache, body aches, joint pain and very bad pain in my spine. I stopped it. Side effect symptoms went away. The dose was 400 mg. 2 x's a day, but I only managed 1-1/2 days on it. I just filled the acyclovir 400 mg, but cut dose in in half as a test. I'm nervously waiting. How are you doing on acyclovir and do you take it episodically or every day?
