Although, last week I was tested for EBV and CMV, and my blood-work came back positive for IgG and IgM in the EBV test. As a result, I do have a reactivation of the Epstein Barr Virus, which initially I had back in 2003. My next appointment is tomorrow with an Infectious Disease Doc and hopefully the treatment he recommends will be effective against this virus.. The crazy thing is Ive had this reactivation of the EBV for almost a year now and this past year has been the worst year of my life.
I checked for luminous bacterias like Vibrio cholerae from websites and took Nor Flox 400mg 6 tabs and i also took Acyclovir for the treatment for HSV2 as self medication but still i can see white dots and floater around my eye. So please help me in this regard and i don't want to infect other people including my family in any way. For this i am thinking of staying alone.

If you are going to have blood drawn anyways - why not get tested for hsv while you are at it? Sounds like you could use the peace of mind if nothing else.
Your eye symptoms don't sound like herpes related. Sounds more like a viral infection or allergies.
No need to test for cmv since you aren't pregnant and since most adults have it anyways. At this point it would no longer be an active cmv infection anyways so there's really no point to testing for it.
Try to take precautions as cmv is also easily transferrable by saliva and bodily fluids. Wash your hands regularly and keep a track on allergies developing. Research cmv thoroughly as I had to it is th eonly way to keep a track on the effects of cmv on the body.

I was tested for CMV, Epstein-Barr and HIV. I was told that my CMV and Epstein-Barr levels were high. I was also told that HIV antibodies were undetectable, thank God! Unfortunatly, I am still worried about possible HIV infection because my doctor was not able to clearly define the relationship between CMV, Epstein-Barr and HIV.
Most folks have cmv and rubella - do you have active infections of them or did you just test + for past infection with them? If you don't know, callyour provider and ask.
Herpes is not cureable. What makes your provider think you have herpes? Just a visual exam? Did they do any cultures of the actual lesions? Did you have any urine testing done?
So it sounds like they treated you for CMV as well as herpes.
I've never once heard of acyclovir being used in a catheter. I did a google search and can't find anything, either. There is a liquid option for children or people who can't swallow pills, and an IV solution, but there isn't anything to be used in a catheter.
I did find some things about gonciclovir being used for herpes zoster - shingles - but not much.

I am 21 years old and married, my husband and I are planning soon to try for a baby and I went to the doctors just to make sure that everything was fine and was tested for Hiv, chlamadiya and other std and everything was fine, know my big concern is cmv and ebv. I want to know should I be tested for this? if I have any of these viruses will I transmit it to my baby? I have been loosing sleep over this and I don't even know why I am so concerned.
If a female is the recipient of oral sex on the day discomfort begins, later an ulcer develops (PCR tests neg for HSV, CMV, etc) but serum IgG test is positive (5) for HSV2, (Neg for HSV1 & HIV neg) what are the chances the partner could develop HSV2 orally? What is the latest that symptoms could appear? (Partner has swollen nodes on day 15, no mention of oral ulcers or sore throat.
CMV is very common and the most common virus passed from mothers to babies. Of all pregnant moms, 1 to 4 percent have CMV and they have a 1 and 3 chance of passing it to the baby. And most babies that are born with CMV do not have health issues from it. But the possibility is still there. The good news? Your wife doesn't have it that you know of? A new infection during pregnancy is really more the worry so I do understand your concern.
tested positive for Cytomegalovirus. 3 tests over 6 months the first two tests showed a value CMV IGG 78, 64 and then 84. The last cmv igg test showed a jump to 169.
NOw the questions I have are:
1. I have had many cbc bloodwork done. All of them show irregularities however the last one I did was the most interesting. It showed red blood cells very low 4. 2 WBC count falling to 5.8, Lympocyte 18% whereas one year ago they were 35%. mcv VERY HIGH 97.3. MOnocytes jumped to 11.8%.
134) and positive for cmv igg . I read up on it and it seems that not much research has been done ont his disease. MOst people say that nothing permanent happens from it. whereas others say that it is a causal agent in a person developing chronic fatigue syndrome. Why the confusion?
I have had 4 cmv igg tests done over 7 months. the first 3 showed alternative values of 64, 78 and 70. The last cmv igg test I had done a week ago showed a jump to 139.
My daughter was diagnosed with Behcet's in 2008. Then in 2009 she contracted herpes (hsv2). She is now having an outbreak of herpes (starting to get under control after 2 rounds of valtrex, back on acyclovir for 2 days) and a flare of Behcet's. Prednisone will make the painful vaginal Behcet's lesions go away but will cause another outbreak of herpes.
Does anyone have any suggestions? She's about to leave for a required college trip.

Could it be that I have contracted HIV and the HIV virus is overwhelming my immune system, so that it can not fight the CMV and Epstein-Barr virus? Is the diagnosis of high levels of CMV and Epstein-Barr an indicator of a more serious immune system infection(HIV)? Do you have any statistics of acute HIV infection and the prevelance of CMV, Epstein-Barr in those patients? Thank you for taking the time to consider my questions. I apologize if they are completely irrational, I hope they are.
My doctor was referring to a study wehre Acyclovir slowed disease progression in HIV by reducing viral load. And so he thought Acyclovir might have a direct effect (even if it is low) on HIV. Maybe he thought that by decreasing viral load antybodies would show up later than in the absence of Acyclovir?
