Avatar n tn Crestor is to control cholesterol, have more offen side effects but doses of 10 mg are the lowest , and side effects can be abdominal pain (not chest). So is better to talk to the doctor about this side effects. She is very well medicated but allergic reactions can happen. TALK TO TE DOCTOR is all I can tell.
1236243 tn?1277680851 is having noticable adverse side-effects. Rumor monger statements and posts like this one are more scary than it actually should be. One step below crying fire in a crowded theatre. Moreover, it always seems to be a person told me, or it's about someone else. Could this post have been made by a competitor's detail rep? Yes, was it - who will ever know.
Avatar n tn You could also look at doing a Serum Insulin blood test done to check how much insulin your body produces. Will give you and your doctor a better idea about what OHA to take.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know what type of reaction one is likely to get by mixing Metformin and Victoza with meds for Hep C? These are non insulin meds. I am particularly interested in the interaction with Victoza which is a good stabilizer. Both of these meds can cause some stomach distress.
Avatar m tn 2, I just was letting you know some of the other drugs available for use. None of this drugs cause me any side effects. Talk to your doctor about these other drugs that you can take.
Avatar f tn Hi all, My hubby was dx'ed 2 weeks ago w/ diabetes II. His regular doc put him on 30 mg Actos daily. At 1st hubby's blood sugar was a whopping 390- now it's down to 76-90 in the am and no more than 180 even after lots of sugary food. Obviously the blood sugar is well under control now. The problem is, my husband's vision is going crazy! I know that diabetes can cause vision problems when blood sugar is high, but the way it's happening doesn't make sense.
Avatar m tn In type 2 diabetes, the body does not respond properly to insulin, a condition known as insulin resistance. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that regulates how the body converts sugar (glucose) into energy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In view of the multiple processes involved in causing NASH, it may well be that many different classes of medications, as well as weight loss, will have beneficial effects.
Avatar n tn This is a very big part of having type 2 diabetes, for type 2 is really an insulin-resistant problem, and fat cells are insulin-resistant. So the more fat cells you have in your body, the higher your blood sugar levels. If you lose excess weight and keep it off, you have a much better chance at avoiding diabetes than if you let the weight creep up, even if you ARE eating properly.
Avatar f tn No, it's the opposite, Kittyface. It's believed that if LADAs start insulin early it will help preserve some beta cells for a bit longer. That's why it's frustrating how many of us are misdiagnosed and put on oral meds. That's not to mention that some of us are put on meds specifically designed for insulin resistance when we in fact don't have resistance. I was paying about $200 a month for Actos when I was living out of country!
1273125 tn?1365077526 So whether you inject or take Glip your getting more insulin. If it is too much insulin then a side effect of too much insulin can cause hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia is not deadly... UNLESS it is severe.
Avatar f tn All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. These are the most COMMON side effects of Lantus. Redness, swelling, itching, or mild pain at the injection site.
Avatar f tn actos, glipizide, insulin, nexium, simvistatin, seroquel, lamictil, prozac. cannot correlate with any particular food intake, change in blood sugar level, or other variables. occurs periodically; symptoms are transient. almost fainted on occasion symptoms occurring more often now. neck pain becoming more frequent. do have a very long history of chronic anemia. some of these symptoms have woken me up from sleep at different times in the night.
Avatar f tn Perhaps he needs a change in his Actos dosage or needs to go to Insulin to get his levels down. I would talk to the Dr. if the levels stay where they are.
