Actonel and jaw problems

Common Questions and Answers about Actonel and jaw problems

actonel

Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.

Avatar n tn Every doctor seems to think it is allergies. I have also recently been to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. Shows chronic sinus problems but no current infection and no need for surgery at the present time. I also do the sinus rinse and have veramyst spray. Ear, nose, and throat specialist said to keep doing what I am doing and contact him in 2 months. I also have GERD and am currently taking Nexium since last May 2007.
Avatar f tn t let me take things like actonel or that class of drugs as my osteoporosis affected the bones in my jaw and they are afraid to take the chance as with those drugs there is a risk. I was disappointmented about the forteo. I think that drug is more dangerous than its worth personally. Are you still working as an RN? I am not able to work now and I miss it so much. Let me know you turn out regarding the forteo.
Avatar m tn Non-hormonal biphosphonates (such as Fosamax and Actonel) increase bone strength and are available as once-a-week pills. These can also be taken. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn Occlusion does play a significant role in the pathogenesis of TMD, although this is not fully supported by dental and medical commuinities. However, in my personal experience over hundred cases, occlusal therapy, such as occlusal appliance is extremely effective for relieving TMD associated symptoms, with long-term effect. Occlusal appliance therapy is very conservative and effective, there is no irreversible change of existing dentition.

5792451 tn?1390934690 If you remember, I had had a filling done, after which I developed severe jaw pain, a locked jaw and neck and shoulder pain. Several months later, I developed swollen joints in my fingers, toes and severe foot pain. This was accompanied by chronic migraine headaches, muscle pain and severe fatigue. I was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease by my cardiologist, but by then I had already had it in my body for perhaps 10 years or more.
Avatar f tn I wonder if it is all from TMD (and its a fact I grind my teeth and wear a nightguard) and if it is do I have any hope? Can my jaw still be helped and maybe the rest of me. Thank you for your thoughts on this.
Avatar f tn I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain. Avatar n tn I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.
Avatar n tn I took my 16 year old cat to the vets prior to moving house last month as her jaw appeared to be distorted and she was drooling but otherwise seemed happy and eating well. My Vet said that she had a large bony lump on her lower jaw which was most likely cancerous, that she wouldnt survive a biopsy or operation and that I shouldnt take her with me when I move. I did take her with me and she has settled in well, still eating but very 'vocal' and quite clingy to me.
Avatar n tn It is very closely associated to the TMJ and completely responsible for your jaw and tooth functions. It feeds sensation and function to your jaws, face, tongue, sinus, palate, eyes, teeth, and lips. The trigeminal accounts for over 40% of the brain's processing. The trigeminal also has innervation and control over certain areas of the brain itself. The trigeminal nerve is also "married" to the facial, hypoglossal, and vagus nerves.
Avatar f tn I have had several root canals and all have failed- except one. I had two bridges break off. I wanted to get implants but read that it's not advisable for Lyme patients. I used to have a horrible crawling and tingling sensation on and around my left ear. I also had what I called "Picasso Vision" where my vision would fragment into three or four sections with strobing wavy lines and flashing lights. The ear and eye problems would come and go for no particular reason. My D.O.
Avatar f tn I was told my facial /jaw pain may be TMJ, but my dentist checked it out and said it was not....since I had surgery I do not have the pain like I did b4...the ears and jaw pain is a chiari thing...and may resemble TMJ, but I really do not believe that it is otherwise the bite gaurd would help.
Avatar f tn I feel original symptoms were due to emotional problems and depression not being treated, my doc is not interested in.helping cus of budget cuts, I'm.
Avatar f tn I have alot of jaw problems and I was just wondering if this could also cause me to have sever pain in the back of my neck and head. I am about to go crazy with this and I am not sure if my jaw is the cause or if it may be something else. Please help me to figure this out.
Avatar f tn Almost 2 years ago I had my lower left wisdom tooth removed, ever since I have had problems with my jaw. My jaw now pops, clicks, grinds, and makes crunching noises as well as locks. It causes me a lot of pain at times and seems to now be very sensitive to cold weather. I also notice that when opening and closing my mouth it seems like the alignment of my jaw is wrong, the right side appears to pop out when my mouth opens and the left does not.
Avatar f tn Is it possible to have obstructions of the jaw and tongue day and night , also dependent on head position without having any sleep disordered breathing. I have no success with the splint made by my dentist nor much luck with the TMJ specialist who suggested moist heat and exercises to push the jaw back. I've stopped these exercises . I am due to see an ENT . Who do I really have to consult to get this problem fixed at least.
