Actonel and eye problems

Common Questions and Answers about Actonel and eye problems

actonel

Avatar n tn I take once monthly Actonel. While I was pushing the pill through the foil blister, it broke. I did not take that pill for fear that it could cause stomach problems. My question is would it have been safe to take? Also, if I contact Proctor & Gamble, do you think they might replace the pill. If it was a daily pill, I wouldn't worry about, but I just lost a whole month of medicine due to a faulty package design.

Avatar n tn Every doctor seems to think it is allergies. I have also recently been to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. Shows chronic sinus problems but no current infection and no need for surgery at the present time. I also do the sinus rinse and have veramyst spray. Ear, nose, and throat specialist said to keep doing what I am doing and contact him in 2 months. I also have GERD and am currently taking Nexium since last May 2007.
Avatar m tn Non-hormonal biphosphonates (such as Fosamax and Actonel) increase bone strength and are available as once-a-week pills. These can also be taken. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain. Avatar n tn I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.
Avatar n tn I've had a problem with going in to see eye doctors about problems with my eyes and not getting anything resolved. For a few years now I have had pressure behind my eyes, really dry eyes, halos, blurry vision and an extreme sensitivity to light. I wen to the eye doctor today, hoping to get some of this resolved and they gave me the usual answer. My prescription was off, which would cause alomst all of that.
Avatar f tn I feel original symptoms were due to emotional problems and depression not being treated, my doc is not interested in.helping cus of budget cuts, I'm.
Avatar n tn I still wake up with swelling around my eyes (under eye bags for example). Periodically I get dry eyes and use Genteal eye drops. If you are diagnosed with Graves, I would highly suggest an opthamologist appointment as they can take measurements of your eyes in the event things start to change. I was diagnosed in January and saw eye doctor in February. The eye involvement is called Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) and there is much info on the web.
550622 tn?1247656720 Since being diagnosed and starting treatment for Graves Disease/Hyperthyroidism I have developed chronic "dry eye". Anyone else have problems and what are you doing about it? The Optomistrist has me on 3 different eye drops and an Omega-3 Capsule. The red in my eye is starting to clear up. Is the really a chronic issue or does it get better?
Avatar n tn m 40 years old and recently found out that I also have osteo penia in one of the vertabrae in my lower back and my doctor wants me to take Actonel...however, those bone density medications can really exacerbate the reflux problems.
Avatar f tn t believe that at my age , this is a huge problem for me. I am taking Paxil and for the last 10 years I was taking Actonel, until my doctor suggested I stop because of medical reports showing after long use, it stops working. I know the 2 problems are not linked, but still remain a concern. Is there a medication to stop me from my late night binges. This is when I eat the most. It seems there would be an appetite supressant that would be helpful.
Avatar f tn In short, I was referred to an eye specialist because I was having horrible eye pain/pressure, double vision, and bright flashes of lights that looked like tiny flies were all over my vision. The 1st eye doc said there were no problems with my eyes and eluded that I was making the symptoms up! A year later another eye doc diagnosed strabismus. Obviously, I was pretty happy that at least one of my symptoms could be observed!
Avatar f tn I try to keep going pushing myself to the limit which prob. makes it worse. I have had lesions all over my body b4 and have bad scars. I have had eye problems for years and am having blurry vision, sort of seeing shadows, which sounds crazy but its true. I had cytomegalo virus some years ago and wonder if this caused the mctd. I know I am rambling but there is so much wrong with me , I am not depressed just frustrated after all these years. This started in 1986.
184420 tn?1326739808 com/Pegylated-interferon-can-cause-serious-eye-problems-in-HIVHCV-coinfected-patients-says-study/page/1418821/ Treatment with pegylated interferon alpha-2b (PegIntron) and ribavirin can cause serious eye problems in individuals coinfected with HIV and hepatitis C virus according to an article published in the September 3rd edition of AIDS.
Avatar f tn I saw in an earlier post that someone had asked if there was a connection to agent orange and eye problems and the Doctor answered with a very solo NO. My question is how can he be so sure, any chemicals used always have warnings on bottles about dangers for eyes.. Agent Orange is what one would assume to be a very harsh chemical. So I would say there is a strong possibility that it did cause damage, Just go to the local VA hospitals and check the eye clinics out.
Avatar m tn Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone else has problems with blurry floaters, blurry halos around lights and eye twitching. I have been getting lots of these eye problems after I started the doxy 3 weeks ago. Is eye twitching, dry eyes and floaters common to Lyme?happens while on abx?
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing pain and pressure feeling behind my left eye for a few years now, at odd times, not frequent. It comes on sudden and can last for a few hours to a few days - looking periphally is painful, and the pressure is constant. I am far-sighted in my left eye, and my right eye is near-sighted with astigmitism, and I wear glasses. When the pain occurs, my sinuses are clear, and I have no headaches or migraines, it's just the eye pain.
Avatar m tn Later the day my eyes got very red, burned, and very painful. On my recent visit to the doctor and got flarex and vigomox. I took that for about 2 weeks and every thign seemed to be alright. oh by the way they said i had some ulcers on my eye i believe. I put my contacts in and seem ok for a while but then my eyes get red a little bit. Dont hurt just red. so i took them out and sometimes they even get red w/o contacts. seems to come and go. any suggestions?
Avatar n tn the eyes cannot drain properly thus they spill over into and out of the eye. and can at times become infected. The good pet stores have products to wipe the outside of the eye to reduce the staining. Otherwise just a warm wet cloth as mentioned will work, take care not to over wash and cause the area to be left over moist..thats when kitties will try to clean and dry area and it will become raw from over pawing. ps your kitty is not a Persian/Himalayan...they are each separate breeds.
Avatar m tn I have had my eyes dilated and looked at and he says my only case is dry eye and my eyes look perfect. So now we are on to my brain. I have had a ct scan that came back fine. I am scheduled for a hutler test (heart monitor for 24 hours) and an eeg in case I'm having abnormal seizures. I get migraines almost everyday. I am on a med for them but it's not helping much. Maybe this could be a ocular migraine? I'm having such a hard time with all this. I feel miserable.
Avatar f tn I have had constant runny eyes for over a year, my eyes don’t “tear” they drain slowly and it seeps into the creases of my eyelids and makes them raw and swollen. I have been to opthalmologist 6 times and they have prescribed me steroids drops, allergy drops, antibiotic gels drops. They even suggest I take allergy medicine daily. I haven’t worn contact or make up in over a year. I have tried so many eyes products for dry eye, allergy eye, etc…..
Avatar n tn If you have had recent problems with your eyesight then this may cause this. If you are prescribed glasses and you do not wear them then I suggest you start wearing them. If not, I suggest you see an optician and book another eye test. The eyes are probably recovering from a deep sleep which will cause you to feel dizzy, still tired, or your eyes will see funny colours.
Avatar f tn I had to get an eye exam and she noticed I had abnormal blood vessels in my right eye and uneven eye pressure (not sure which was higher or lower). My right eye was a bit weaker than my left. Naturally it had always been stronger. My prescription going in was left -2.00 and right -1.75. She upped my right to match my left and I also switched brands from Cooper Vision to Acuvue 2 week lenses.
Avatar n tn ru a wedding ring on it, it always works for me
