Avatar n tn Hello ladies, I am 31 years old and 18 weeks into my first pregnancy. I have had very mild adult acne for the past 5 years or so but with this pregnancy it has gone from mild to I don't even want to show my face severe. Can anyone offer any remedies? I follow a daily skin regimen and have never had this issue like this before, all the moms at work say the same thing: it's just hormones.
Avatar f tn i saw the infomercial for that last time I was in the US and was also intrigued by the idea! The infomercial was really impressive!....but I decided that I dont think it is necessary.
Avatar m tn Hello, Fusidic acid and minocycline are both antibiotics which are used for the treatment of acne. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
Avatar n tn Hi Sir, I used to get pimples around my face, back and chest however I had undergone a treatment and the problem subsided eventually however the moment I left the treatment I again started getting pimples or some kind of infection. I am again undergoing a treatment and the doctor says that this is a normal concern....I got some reports done and everything is fine.. Please let me know how long will this continue? will I be ever able to get rid of this medication?

Avatar n tn I found two articles in the medical literature about electrothermolysis, just uncontrolled pilot studies, but neither referred to acne treatment--one was about treating facial seborrhea, the other was about hair removal. So basically, I don't know. There are other acne treatments you might want to consider, such as laser treatments to minimize oil glands, They are safe and have shown modest effectiveness, though it's not always long lasting.
Avatar m tn I went to the dermatologist and wasn't able to see a doctor, instead I was seeing by an intern who didn't seem to know what she was doing but anyway, she prescribed me what my primary care physician had already put me on for 10days; SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 Tab Interpharm to treat my infected acne. She told me she's going to keep me on it for 8 months. Now, if this is an antibiotic, is it normal to be prescribed for that long? and for acne grade III?
Avatar n tn 1) What is the current and most effective treatment for Acne Inversa? (Most of my reading online was from relatively dated material) I have been taking Accutane for approximately one month and have so far not seen any favorable results. I have also read that Accutane does little for Acne Inversa. Is there truth to this? 2) I have read that Carbon Dioxide Laser Ablation may be just as effective as skin grafts, however, it was an emerging treatment.
Avatar n tn sounds like an adult version of acne known as acne rosacea- google it or check google images - it is completely different to the teenage form of acne vulgaris
Avatar m tn I've been to about two different dermatologist because of my acne, for some reason they become VERY swollen and red. I had to change my doctor, because the first treatment I had a bad reaction to the pills he prescribed. My second dermatologist just prescribed me clindoxyl gel. I've been using it for about more than a year now. I should have stopped by after 3 months into the treatment, however I couldn't, and now I feel silly going into his office after all this time lost.
667015 tn?1268595478 Now i do not trust any of the infomercial stuff any more. I bought a few items in the past and the where just plain ****. But I told her that I would ask around about it. If you have any insite about it please let me know and I hope that everyone has a very happy and pain free ( as much as possable ) Thanksgiving and are able to spend some great time with Family and Friends. Thanks in advance for any information.
Avatar m tn Hello, For premature acne, if the acne is protected from the sunlight and sometimes an antioxidant treatment if applied in the initial stage to cure the lesions of acne then it can be cured at the beginning. Then medical treatment is the same as adult acne i.e initially benzoyl peroxide and topical antibiotics are used. But they are to be used under medical supervision and not one one’s own.
Avatar m tn I've battled acne since 5th grade, and I'm just about to turn 21 now. Yesterday my dermatologist prescribed me 25mg Spironolactone 2xD and Tri-Sprintec BCP to help clear my skin up. I trust her judgement with placing me on both of those medications, but what worries me is that it may be too much of a hormone change for my body.
Avatar f tn t cystic, but a bit more problematic than mild acne. Also, a sulfa allergy limits that option for treatment. Current regimen includes Azelex (for redness and inflammation) and Tretinoin. I'm curious if there is an effective treatment that takes the fibromyalgia into consideration.
Avatar m tn You may need treatment for as long as you are prone to acne. Antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline may need to be taken long term, and most patients can do this without serious side effects. Bert is right. Differin is a topical syntheitc retinoid which is really effective and generally well tolerated. Have you discussed Accutane (oral Isotretinoin) with your doctor? This is considered the "gold star" treatment for acne.
Avatar n tn Hi, i am currently using an acne treatment called Aknicare - so far it's working well. i've suffered from acne for years and never seem to find anything that works. Can anyone recommend a treatment or has anyone used Aknicare?
Avatar f tn The background: My OB said I had hypothyroid (via testing) and could take Armour 30mg. I take it Monday-Friday in the morning, then take Saturday and Sunday off. I've been doing this weekly for almost 3 months. I get my blood tested for the first time since being on this next week.
