Bert is right. Differin is a topical syntheitc retinoid which is really effective and generally well tolerated.
Have you discussed Accutane (oral Isotretinoin) with your doctor? This is considered the "gold star" treatment for acne.
local treatment with azelaic acid, salicylic acid, topical retinoids, benzoyl peroxide.
Mild papulo-pustular (inflammatory) acne: benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids, topical antibiotics (such as erythromycin).
Moderate inflammatory acne: benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids combined with oral antibiotics (tetracyclines). Isotretinoin is an option.

I used to get pimples around my face, back and chest however I had undergone a treatment and the problem subsided eventually however the moment I left the treatment I again started getting pimples or some kind of infection. I am again undergoing a treatment and the doctor says that this is a normal concern....I got some reports done and everything is fine..
Please let me know how long will this continue? will I be ever able to get rid of this medication?

Fusidic acid and minocycline are both antibiotics which are used for the treatment of acne. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
I believe abrasion on my skin causes acne breakouts. Ever since using back scrubbers, acne appeared and left acne scars after disappearing.

I've been to about two different dermatologist because of my acne, for some reason they become VERY swollen and red. I had to change my doctor, because the first treatment I had a bad reaction to the pills he prescribed.
My second dermatologist just prescribed me clindoxyl gel. I've been using it for about more than a year now. I should have stopped by after 3 months into the treatment, however I couldn't, and now I feel silly going into his office after all this time lost.

(Most of my reading online was from relatively dated material) I have been taking Accutane for approximately one month and have so far not seen any favorable results. I have also read that Accutane does little for Acne Inversa. Is there truth to this?
2) I have read that Carbon Dioxide Laser Ablation may be just as effective as skin grafts, however, it was an emerging treatment.

I'm a 19 year old male. Relatively healthy.
When I got up this morning I noticed that there was some kind of bump on my back in the left shoulder area. It doesn't itch and is not painful, it looks a little raised but flat surface. It's just there and doesn't look like any pimple that I have had. I usually don't get any kind of bumps or acne on my back so it has me worried. Here are two pictures. Sorry about the quality. Hopefully someone can help!

I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it can be due to Acne keloidalis nuchae. It occurs when hairs on the back of the head and neck grow into the skin, become inflamed, and cause scar tissue. These ingrown hairs usually occur following a short haircut on the back of the head and nape of the neck.
Treatment of AKN includes suppression of the inflammation with antibiotics and steroid gels or intralesional steroid injections.
I have severe cysitc acne that covers my upper back. I went to a dermatologist for this condition beginning at age 12.
During the course of treatment I was perscribed Minocycline, Doxycycline, tetracycline, and sulfa based medications, all resulting in allergic reactions. I was finally placed on Accutane with positive results while taking the drug, however six months after completing treatment, the acne returned again.
Hi, i am currently using an acne treatment called Aknicare - so far it's working well. i've suffered from acne for years and never seem to find anything that works. Can anyone recommend a treatment or has anyone used Aknicare?
s enlarged, and I am experiencing pain when I sit back on a chair, even if it is a soft armchair or couch. I do wash my back with acne wash to see if that will help and because I do work out at a gym, I wash and change my shirt when I get home. I am a woman in my mid 30's and have mild acne problems throughout my life, but this is concerning. Is this acne or something else?
My own experience - I also had a keloid from chicken pox each on lower abdomen and back. the one on my back (at least 0.5 cm) disappear completely because the bra strip press on it every day. the one on lower abdomen (at least 0.5 cm), it was high but with a smaller base, so because of it's shape, I used a sewing thread to tie at the base very tightly, then after sometimes, it disappeared without me knowing it!

For premature acne, if the acne is protected from the sunlight and sometimes an antioxidant treatment if applied in the initial stage to cure the lesions of acne then it can be cured at the beginning. Then medical treatment is the same as adult acne i.e initially benzoyl peroxide and topical antibiotics are used. But they are to be used under medical supervision and not one one’s own.
