I was not well informed by my dermatologist about what I can expect my scarring to be like during the course of the accutane. She just said that if we stop the acne, we stop the scarring, then several months after we can look into their array of scar treatments.

I just got back from the Derm today and he reviewed my skin and he said that my acne redness is scarring.. Now i thought scarring is indentions in the skin? Is it not and that acne redness will fade with time because according to my derm he said that my acne redness is scarring and that the redness wont go away and that theres nothing that can be done about it. He said that i'll have to live with it for the rest of my life and that the only possible treatment for this is laser.

s which had deeloped inside my belly button after a previous surgery. I had the surgery about 8 weeks ago now and the scar has become a little raised and red. I have heard micropore tape helps with the redness and makes the scar flatter, I was wondering if 8 weeks post-op is too late to do any good if I start the micropore tape now?? Many thanks.

It is pretty severe and I am worried about scarring. Its almost as if a lot of the acne is permanent. Should I return to accutane?? Or do you have other suggestions? Daughter wants to get a chemical peel for some acne scarring on her facial cheeks. She has been on antibiotics (too harsh on stomach), antibiotic topical cream, retin-A, you name it over the years. I have the worst acne too. On the back, chest,cheeks. It's awful. I've tried witch hazel, stridex, cleaning multiple times a day. Nothing helps.

I never wanted to really speak openly about my acne but after reading Sean and your story i want to warn all future accutane users to realize this is not a 100% quick fix also to realize the side affects of Roacutane (accutane). i have had acne since i was 12 I was put on this medication when i was 14 and am now 23 still with acne yes accutane will problably make your skin look the best it ever has, if you are lucky for a long time.

A couple of months ago I woke up to fing a pock mark on my cheek. I never had acne or any infection in that spot. Recently, on the other cheek I have noticed to tiny holes (like big pores).
