Common Questions and Answers about Acne removal device

acne

Avatar m tn My cardiologist has issues with this in view of my age (I am also a medical doctor) and here in the UK, we have to be assessed by a medical psychologist to assess the patient in order for the device to be deactivated. He does not want the device altered and says if anything, all he wants is for the defibrillator to be turned off. I feel miserable with this device inside me and live in constant fear which is why I want it removed.
Avatar n tn I had the Mirena fitted (which was the worst pain I have ever felt, my cervix went into shock and it wasn´t pleasant) I thought I could relax for a few years before getting worried about the removal. My face is now covered in what i thought was acne but the doctor says it´s ezcema and has given me steroid cream. I cant get rid of it, it´s affecting my self confidence, has anyone had a similar experience realted to the Mirena?
Avatar f tn Some claim that pregnancy is possible after one month after the removal of this device from the uterus. Women should be aware that there are certain differences between a copper and hormonal IUD and should discuss all the pros and cons with the doctor prior to insertion of this contraceptive device into the uterus. Most studies suggest that generally women are able to regain fertility after the removal of IUD after the same period of time, compared to other birth control methods .
Avatar n tn Thanks BLM, that addresses a bit of the question, but it seems like the crux of some of the first responses is that the leads going into to the heart are the limiting factor in removal of a device, pacer or otherwise. The person I was referring to said he was having 30,000 or so PVC's a day and getting defibrillation jolts frequently, and after ablations had the device removed. I would imagine the leads were removed as well.
Avatar f tn I know this makes insertion and removal more painful). What should I expect after having the device removed? Any advice on e. coli infections, or other vaginal infections with IUD´s? I would greatly appreciate any related advice! I just want this infection to go away! I have been suffering with this for about three months... Please help!
Avatar f tn I assume your fibroids are causing pain or discomfort? Are you by any chance close to menopause when they shrink and can just wait it out? I don't know much about UFE. However, UFE is done by radiologists not gynecologists. So bottom line, that would be lost business for your gyn. Hysterectomy is very profitable and grossly overused so chances are many gyns will tell you to have a hysterectomy. I had one 10 years ago at age 49 and regret it every day.
Avatar n tn It has become irritating when bathing, bra, sitting, now for the removal it will be in a hard place to keep away infection so any advise would be nice .

Avatar f tn I broke my radial head and had a elbow dislocation in my right arm this past August and I had a prosthetic device implant. I have had 3 surgeries and I can't straighten my arm and have no rotation and can't touch my face. However, he now wants to take the device out and remove bone from the 2 bones in my forearm that has joined them together. This will leave the one bone not joined to my elbow. How will this affect me long term?
Avatar f tn ve always had bad acne, some weight issues, depression and excessive hair growth, but I never knew what it was until now. I'm fair skinned, and my hair is thick and black and there is so much of it! I'm so embarrassed by it. I could shave in the morning and come back home after school and shave again. I started shaving my arms, legs and bikini line around 12 and now it's exhausting and unbearable to keep up with.
Avatar f tn I really do not want to remove this device because it is so convenience, other than the acne. I read some of the tips on balancing the hormones, such as taking fish oil, drinking soy milk and to stay away from sweet, fat and oily food. I have changed my diet, run 5 miles everyday, drink 1 gallon of water everyday, take my multivitamin including fish oil and staying away from fatty food. BUT NOTHING IS FREAKING WORKING.

Avatar n tn I have severe cysitc acne that covers my upper back. I went to a dermatologist for this condition beginning at age 12. During the course of treatment I was perscribed Minocycline, Doxycycline, tetracycline, and sulfa based medications, all resulting in allergic reactions. I was finally placed on Accutane with positive results while taking the drug, however six months after completing treatment, the acne returned again.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had their mirena out due to acne and weight gain? Did the side effects clear up after removal and if so how long did it take? I've had mine for 3 1/2 years and considering having it removed.
Avatar f tn After my Mirena was removed I didnt have a normal period for 6 months. As I too didn't have a period for 5 yrs. Your body is adjusting to no longer having the hormones and the device in place. I'm sure you will conceive soon as your periods are regular again! Lots of luck! And keep us posted, it is possible to get pregnant right after removal.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I got a Paragard (Copper) IUD inserted about a month ago. Just about 2 days ago, I started to experience symptoms of contact dermatitis on my upper body (shoulders, chest, arms, face, neck). I was wondering if I was having an allergic reaction to the Copper IUD? I'm aware that there is Nickel and Copper in the device, and I'm not sure if I'm allergic to those metals or not.
Avatar f tn m just wondering if the acne will go away if I get it removed? I read some women experience worse acne after getting it removed.
Avatar f tn Yes, hardware removal including cage removal is possible. If the cage and screws are of the same material that you are allergic to then yes, all will be removed. However, if screws and plates are being removed then cage may also need to be removed if is not a stand alone device and has been held in position by the screws. However, whether cage can be removed or not depends on many factors.
Avatar n tn during puberty i had a fair amount of acne on my face generaly just large blemeshes wich left some small scars here and there but i also devoloped the same type of thing on the base of my penis just above my testicles probably because of cloged sweat glands or maybe in grown hairs but some of this acne has left some scaring mostly a slight discoloration as well as a slight difference in texture compared to the surrounding area its only a small part just above my testicals however the scaring i
Avatar f tn Thank you so much, you're very kind. Yes, I do have extremely oily skin as well as acne, although my acne has improved over the years. I'm currently undergoing laser hair removal on my face and have been told to avoid chemical peels, etc. until that procedure has been completed. In the mean time I guess I'll try and hang in there and look into proper cleaning and toning options.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if a device to help remove the needle cap and a device to put the needle cap back on would be something which people would be interested in. The removing of the cap would involve a 2 handed operation but you would use a tool which clamps the cap allowing you to pull the syringe and needle away. Also there would be a feature with this same tool which would then hold the cap for you to allow you to re-apply the cap using only 1 hand.
Avatar f tn Dr put in a Murena device for now, but suggested removing my uterus. Waiting on biopsy results to give him a yay or nay. My mom had a hysterectomy and suffered huge complications. I dont know what to do to be honest and could use some insight..Thank you.
4312129 tn?1352635984 If it is an allergic reaction, antihistamine medications and removal of the allergen is usually enough while removal of irritant will also help provide relief for irritation. If it persists, it is best that you have this checked for proper evaluation. Try not to squeeze or manipulate the skin lesions to prevent secondary bacterial infection. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Was the ER able to interrogate his device to really determine that his shocks were unjustifiable? Personally, I wouldn't be confident with the ER's response without first checking with my electrophysiologist. Secondly, if the shocks were inappropriate, perhaps the device can be reprogrammed.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately he caught some bug , turned out to staff auri or something. Inf d team strongly suggested removal of the device so it was done. Now heis without on. He is 72 y old. His choices. Amio Duran or life vest. A miowould help with the hr. but we r concerned about the other issues. It will be at least 6 months before they put. A new device.
