Avatar f tn I also used acne cream from my pharmacist, if you go in and ask them, they will normally give you one from behind the counter, they are stronger than the ones you can pick up yourself, but not as strong as if they doctor was to prescribe it for you. Hopefully this helps!
Avatar m tn A couple years ago I was put on a cream that noticeably decreased and practically eradicated the acne I had. The cream contained adapelene, however, it was eventually taken off my insurance and became far too expensive. I used this cream in the winter, and as such I never had to worry about the risk of sun exposure with it. Recently I was told that Differin became over the counter, and worked well for acne. I didn't really know what was in it at the time, but it worked phenomenally!

Avatar n tn You may wish to repost this in the Dermatology Forum as this is not acne. The best over-the-counter cream I have found for hands is Elizabeth Arden 8 hour hand cream. If it does not improve, your doctor can prescribe a steroid cream. Vitamins A,C and E are good for skin as is zinc.
Avatar n tn You can treat it with over-the-counter creams contain 2 percent hydroquinone, a bleaching agent or with combinations of medications such as hydroquinone with tretinoin plus a cortisone cream. ref:http://www.dermanetwork.org/information/acne_scars.
Avatar m tn Alright, so I have always had a fair amount of backne. It gets worse and it gets better every month or so. Sometimes I have none, others I have huge bumps that are typically under the skin and never the typical white head. Anyway my two questions are 1) Any idea why I have backne and not so much other acne? Something I eat? Hair products I use? I've been told many a thing..
Avatar f tn Here is many information aboutestrogen cream over-the-counter I found the best solution there.
Avatar n tn A steroid shot might help ease the itching and he may prescribe a prescription topical cream that is better than the over the counter medications. Hope this helps. Please get checked out to make sure that this is not something more serious.
Avatar f tn Anyone have experience with any over the counter depression medicine that works well?
Avatar n tn Hi, I know that skin resurfacing is good and also dermabrasion. They like help with smoothing out your skin. But there isn't really any over the counter products for deep scars. If you are talking about just like dark spots from post acne those can take up to a year to go away, they just fade away. But the deep ones are permanent unless you see a dermatologist and ask what they recommend by lookijng at them. I know I would like to get it done myself but it can be sooo expensive!
Avatar n tn Application of mild steroid cream like dermacort also helps. For the itching pls take some over the counter antihistaminic like benadryl or Claritin. In case the symptoms persist then antifungals may be needed.Pls consult a dermatologist in that case. I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.

Avatar n tn Most cases of fungal infections respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral. If still the symptoms do not improve then please get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn m sure other brands do too..) because this removes the dead skin so there is nothing blocking the acne medication in the benzoyl peroxide from getting into the pore. The alpha-hydroxy cream is also a moisturizer and gets rid of flakiness. I just put a blob of both products in my hand (about two parts alpha-hydroxy and one part benzoyl peroxide), mix them together and apply. I also use this on the bikini area to prevent ingrown hairs which I used to get really bad.
Avatar n tn Resist the urge to squeeze and instead apply a hot towel to the area. Then use an acne cream with salycilic (sp?) acid on it. May take a few days to go away. Try not to add too much friction to it as well.
Avatar f tn Try a cream with salicylic acid or benzol peroxide. They are strong anti-acne meds that you can get over the counter. If your pimple is cystic (doesn't have a head, won't pop) you may need oral medication. But try the other suggestions first!
Avatar f tn When i got pregnancy acne and eczema my Dr Told me to use baby wash on my face instead of regular soap and that got rid of my acne, tHen she prescribed eucerine cream, its over the counter and helped my eczema in 4 days.
Avatar n tn I took roaccutane in my late teens and it cleared up my acne wonderfully for a few years, but then it came back, and worse. My skin is much more sensitive now than it ever was before - rashes all the time.. Also, there have been big 'hoo haas' about whether or not it causes depression. I have also suffered a number of clinical depressions since. The best thing I've found for acne is Brevoxyl (4% benzoyl peroxide). It's a cream, available over the counter.
Avatar n tn My son has had excema in the past, particularly in the winter months. I use a really great over the counter cream - Aveeno for Excema for babies. It works well. Maybe give it a try. The symptoms you describe sound much like my 2 1/2 year old sons, and it too flares up and then goes away. Please stay away from Petroleum based products - I absolutely know your Dr. would tell you that. They are not good for any sort of rash as they do not allow the skin to breathe.
Avatar f tn Make sure you have a moisturizer too since this may dry your skin. Dr. said for over the counter people who can afford her skin care lines in offuce, that Nuetragena is her go to brand.
Avatar m tn m more likely to have yeast infection than fungal infection. I read in a few sites that some over the counter remedy for yeast infection for woman will work on men. I will try some of those and see if it works and hopefully it does. if not then ill have to see a doctor about it. In a way, I guess its better than having fungal infection.
553275 tn?1215209547 You are still young and the skin regenerates and shed off old skin. Apply sunblock cream over the face when staying outdoors and also use vitamin E cream at night to smoothen and lighten the skin.
