Avatar n tn I recently changed my birth control pills from junel Fe 1/20 to Azurette. I had been on Junel fe for years, and was on Azurette before as well. I decided to switch back to Azurette because it helps my acne. However, I was advised to use a backup method for a month when exchanging. I finished my Junel Fe and got my period, then started Azurette on the Sunday after my period. I had the condom break the following Sunday after.

Avatar f tn Hi, I have currently been off my birth control (Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo) for about 3 months and am expericencing the WORST acne of my life. It just recently started this past month, my skin was fine the first 2 months I got off. I was wondering if anyone here has experienced the same thing? And if so, did your acne ever clear up once the birth control got out of your system?

Avatar n tn I am wondering what is a good type of birth control to take for acne and that will regulate my period, but won't effect my hormones too much? I have tried mulitple birth control such as ortho-tricyclen and multiple others that I can't remember the names to. They each helped with my acne and to regulate my period significantly but I didn't like taking them.
Avatar f tn Hi, my daughter was put on birth control to regulate her periods and for her acne, which was really bad. She was 17 at the time. She was put on the regular pill that everyone starts off with I believe, ortho something or other. Worked great on regulating her periods AND her acne. The nausea started shortly thereafter and the vomiting....................
Avatar f tn I was on a triphasic pill for years (Tri Sprintec). It was good for keeping acne under control (which is why I originally went on it at age 20). But in the last few years I began suffering from extreme fatigue, lots of water retention, vaginal dryness, etc, and as all my tests were normal my PCP suggested the pill was causing it. I went off the pill completely 4 months ago and about 2 months after started experiencing extremely oily skin and massive hair shedding, among other things.
Avatar f tn ve only read that acne can be caused by hypothyroidism and that thyroid replacement will help acne. My problem is that my acne started AFTER starting thyroid. The acne is definitely cyclical...I am a 36 year old female still menstruating. The acne is most noticeable right after my period and goes away almost completely for the two weeks after ovulation. This pattern doesn't seem to fit premenstrual acne.
Avatar f tn I'm currently taking Diane-35, for acne and as birth control, and my last period ended about two weeks ago. I had unprotected sex with my husband just before my last period started. Here's the weird thing. For the last week and a half, I've felt really nauseous and have thrown up several times.
1250698 tn?1371351279 I've been on Ortho-cyclen, Ortho-tri-cyclen, Ortho-tri-cyclen Lo, Nuvaring. The types I have not tried was progesterone only, shots, IUD, and implants. Nuvaring was my latest and that was the worst experience I have ever had. Every single type I have used, I have had the same symptoms: nausea, headaches, dizziness, irregular cycles, spotting, weight gain, and mood swings. Since May of this year, I have been doing it naturally, but I am still trying to figure out when I ovulate...
Avatar n tn You say you started taking birth control on June 21st. When did you take the last pill of the previous pack of birth control? The placebo week should only be 7 days, so you should have been taking active birth control pills up until June 13th. If you waited too long to start your most recent pack, that's why it didn't work.
Avatar f tn I am planning to get rid of this IUD. Please help me if any one else having this kind of issues. Any other suggations for birth control.
Avatar m tn Hi i am a 26 yr old male. i have a moderately itchy scalp that gets oily by the end of the day & have occasional acne on the scalp. also i have significant hair loss due to it.Recently, i have noticed more frequent occurrence of acne on my face & rarely on my chest & back. i wash my hair everyday with a mild shampoo to remove the oiliness. it just doesn't seem to help. i somehow feel the itchy scalp, acne & facial acne are related.
Avatar f tn Does birth control pills affect your menstruation cycle and does it affect your health and physical appearance?
Avatar f tn I'm almost 18 and am sexually active. I've been on the pill for 2 and 1/2 years and I'm really getting tired of remembering to take my pill every day and at the same time. I have heard about the patch and the IUD and wanted to know all about them or any other really effective birth control. I don't want anything that will increase my acne, weight, or flow. I have bad acne and flow as it is.
Avatar n tn Hi my gyno put me of birth control pills to help get my ovaries producing hormones again and she said they would help releve some of the other symptoms...excess hair, acne etc. But I just started taking them two weeks ago and I feel sick to my stomach all the time, I feel exhausted tired....I am really over weight so that could be the cause of the tired feeling. Avatar f tn I am a 19 year old teenager facing severe hormonal acne. I have been to a dermatologist a couple of times and have taken several kind of medications. I have also tried to completely fix my diet through drinking detox water, avoiding fatty acids and eating healthy. My acne has become resistant to treatment and isn't improving and I am worried about the scars. The treatment includes isotretinion, topical clindamycin, benzoyl peroxide and retinoids.
1394601 tn?1328032308 ) Are you using this to treat Acne? This is commonly used w/ benzoyl peroxide to treat acne. This also used to treat infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria, including infections of the respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue infections. And a couple other things to consider, If you are child bearing years Condoms or diaphragms may not work to prevent pregnancy. Use another form of birth control while taking this medicine and for 72 hours after treatment ends.
