Had an endoscopy - showed gerd, slight irritation of esophagus, small hiatal hernia and stomach blisters and nodules which were removed and benign. Gastro changed me to aciphex once a day and reglan at night. This was 4 days ago....eating a little better but still have some bouts with nausea....will it take time for the new meds to work? Or could something else be going on to cause this....*by the wayk, i also had an ultra sound of abdominal area - all normal.
5 months ago I started having bloating, heaviness in stomach, nausea and Gas. Since then I am taking Acid suppressants such as Nexium and Aciphex as prescribed by my doctor. I also underwent Endoscopy and Biopsy, Abdominal Ultrasound, X-Ray and Blood test . All the tests came normal except they found H-Pilory infection and I took antibiotics and subsequent Stool test for H-Pilory showed negative. I am still having all the above discomforts which is going on for 5 months.
m a 25 year old male currently suffering with month long post-nasal drip, aswell as indigestion (usually belching after eating, and intermittent nausea which is sometimes worse at night).
At first, i had a dry cough for about one week that slowly began to produce yellow phlegm in my throat after eating.
My doc agreed and put me back on Aciphex, iron and other changes. Nothing is working. Looking to the internet for some answers, I've come across persistent nausea and indigestion as an early warning sign of ovarian cancer several times. I have to change gynos because of a change of insurance and can't get in for several weeks. I'm so worried in the meatime that I can't concentrate. The only other symptom I have is slight abdominal pain.
They put me on aciphex, and i saw a brief change but nothing to really fret over. about 6 months later it just randomly stopped, so i stopped taking my medicine. About 7-8 weeks after that it sprung up again...randomly...this time it was worse than before. I've only vomited on two occasions of it. The doctors are at the end of their rope which is not good for me. I've just recently been put on Metoclopram because now they think it is gastroenteritis.

Clearly something changed after taking the antibiotics, and now your ally in heartburn control has become your enemy. It might be worth getting back to your physician on this one, since antibiotics can often be a "swinging door", killing some bacteria while making it easier for other bacteria to get through that otherwise wouldn't have.
t rely on any blood tests which only test for general levels of Cobalamin and not Methylocobalamin and the lab ranges are far too low.
Without intending to sound like a conspiracy theorist, PPIs are probably the 2nd highest grossing class of drugs with 10s of billions of dollars in annual sales, to patients, most of whom DO NOT need to take them!
Hi, I have severe gastroparesis and have had for several years. For mine I take aciphex two times a day...one in morning and one at bedtime. My reflux was so bad it caused me to have bronchial spasms and coughing. The doctors have never mentioned that I could only take for a certain amount of time.
I work for a family doctor, but see a gastro doctor plus a internal medicine doctor so feel sure one of them would have given me information by this time if there was a reason.
I am so sick of going to all the GI offices and the hospital who keep telling us that nothing is wrong with her and that she has a small Hiatal Hernia that has nothing to do with her burning sensation and her stabbing right above the stomach and her nausea. A couple of days ago my wife was admited to the hospital for burning stomach and nausea and sure enough they found nothing.

Tried prilosec, Protonix and aciphex. Now on dexilant 30 mg. Incredible nausea and headache. Am trying once every other day. So take in evening and next day very sick. Day after when don't take the pill feel much better but acid taste starts to come back. Why do these drugs cause nausea. Tried pepcid and Zantac and got very bad headaches. Any suggestions? Don't know where to turn.
I was diagnosed with GERD because I have heartburn and I often regurgitate. However, for the past month I have felt like something is stuck in my throat and I am getting nausea every single night. It is so incredibly frustrating. I'm good for most of the day, and then 6-7pm hits and I get nausea. I have to lay down. The only thing that helps is going to sleep.
I am on Nexium and it has done nothing. I still feel the same. Doc just told me to try Prilosec OTC so I started that today.
i'm 20 years old and I've been sick for 2 weeks, started out with nausea and vomiting, now cough and cold, but the past few mornings i've been waking up with bad heartburn. can someone please help me figure out what this is..
i am trying to find the reason i beltch with a taste of rotten eggs, and the smell is even worse. also nausea ,and diarrea i have with it.

In early June I had a stomach virus consisting of intense nausea and diarrhea as well as aches and general malaise. Since then (now mid October) I have experienced recurring nausea which is worse at night. It keeps me awake and I can hear and feel my stomach churning. My bad "attacks" occur about once a week, sometimes more or less frequently, lasting about 24 hours.
I have actually been on some form of reflux med for a bit longer than 5yrs and started with Prilosec OTC, then prescription Prilosec, Nexium, Aciphex, and briefly Prevacid. These days I tend to take whatever I have in my medicine cabinet (Aciphex or Prevacid) twice a day, max dosage, and occasionally a tagamet to help out. I have a hiatial hernia that is going to be fixed soon so I am hoping to get off the meds and that the side effects will eventually go away...I hope.
I was diagnosed with mild esophagitis caused by GERD. I was put on Aciphex. I was also diagnosed with hiatal hernia during endoscopy. I already knew I had one because an upper GI series 6 years ago detected it. Even so, the doctor who performed the endoscopy, sent me to get another more current upper GI series. The results came back “no obvious hiatal hernia”, even though the endoscopy showed one and the upper GI series from 6 years ago did too.
So far I have tried Prevacid, Aciphex, Prilosec,Protonix, and Nexium. Aciphex gave me bad side effects and Nexium made my reflux symptoms worse. Prilosec did absolutely nothing for me.
I was successfully treated for H. Pylori in Nov 07. Since then I have been suffering from Water Brash and now heartburn. I don't know where to turn. My GI now wants me to take Zegerid(isn't this med just like Prilosec with sodium?).
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
He put me on the Aciphex to control my stomach acid, and the Domperidone for the motility. I am on Lexapro for anxiety and depression, and have had anxiety problems for two to three years now.

told no I am not fine, one area no concern, other area metaplasia, was I still taking the Aciphex. I have gone back on the Aciphex but am terrified after reading on websites that I did the wrong thing. Endoscopy only done originally because I had still unexplained/diagnosis following three days of diarrhea, cramping, dehydration. On antibiotiic, H pylori ruled out. History of GERD, hiatal hernia. Control symptoms with diet, OTC Gaviscon.
have found out that I have Gastritis, which I am currently taking Aciphex for treatment. Seems The Aciphex has helped w/ the heartburn and related symtoms. Except this RIB Pain is Constant and have had 2 horrible attacks where I thought my Ribcage on R/side was going to crack. I Lay on the heating pad for about 45 minutes and it subsides or until I can get in a comfortable position. But yet I still experience sharp stabbing pains and sometimes I feel a fluttering right below the ribcage.
I have for the past 10 years been on Aciphex 20mg for to much acid in my stomache, I was at 4 times the normal amount but now I have about 7 times to normal amount I have been taking 2 aciphex pills in the am and 1 in the evening. When I had my last scope I also had alot of irritation and alot of stomache polyps. I have latlely been having alot of diarreha about 2 hours after I eat and I'm generally not feeling well.
had mylanta and prilosec and the situation got improved.. doctor recommended aciphex and currently i am on that.. situation seems to get better but at times, the condition that I have something stuck in throat and a little difficulty to swallow flares up. Got a sore throat a couple of days back. but now it is better. feeling weak and has muscle pains occasionally.. any ideas? should i expect improvement only after a while? currently i am on the 15th day of taking aciphex...
Prevacid was the least of all the evils but I still have extreme nausea and lightheadedness. I take the pill around 6 am every morning and the nausea tends to last till between noon and 2 pm. When I wake up, I have no lightheadedness but within 15 minutes of taking the Prevacid, I'm lightheaded again. Can't sit down nor lay down without getting dizzy and causing more nausea.
He recommended I go back on Aciphex or another PPI and to take Benadryl. This seems to make sense. I asked my GI about my hypersalivation problem but he did not know what the cause could be. After the Endoscopy and the H. Pylori visit, the GI doesn't wanted to be bothered. Anyone else have a similar experience?
