My dermatologist has prescribed me Isotretinoin (Accutane) around 20 mg. However i feel uneasy and very worried because i had read the following medical research papers where it tells the harmful side effects Isotretinoin has such as teratogenic and more importantly the cause of eye disorders, like impaired night vision, cataracts, optic neuritis, corneal opacities and dry eye.

The plan is to take the Temozolomide for 2 years along with Accutane (which helps the oral chemotherapy work better). My fiance and I are planning on getting married soon and more than anything is our dream to have children. Is it safe for me to me to get pregnant after being on Temozolomide and Accutane for two years? How long should I wait? I have heard that there a strong chance of the tumor recurring if I ever become pregnant due to the increase of hormones during pregnancy!!

My just turned 16 yr old son took Claravis 30-40mg daily Jan - April 2010. It immediately stopped the growth spurt he was in and has not grown since. And in Nov 2010 both arms started hurting and got worse and worse. You could see his ulnar nerve flip out when he bent his arms. About one to two days ago I began to get a little pain in my arm joint. Today I feel it is more painful. As far as I recall I didn't lift anything heavy or do anything that would stress it out. This pain is only happening in my left arm and not my right. Not sure if this could be the cause but I recently started on the medicine called Accutane. I hope someone here may be able to help get to what could possibly be causing this pain. Thanks!
I heard on the morning news that there will be a world wide recall of Toyota Prius 2010 models. Im wondering how much money they have? Cause they are gonna lose tons of it. And it will be interesting to see what happens to their good name on the other end of this. Do you have one? In light of what has happened would you buy another, or for first time buyers is this enuff to turn you away from Toyota altogether.
I took accutane for about 3-4 months, but I've been off of it for over a year. Before I took accutane, I was constantly wet - I would actually have to change underwear once or twice a day. I had an extremely high libido and orgasmed quickly. While on accutane, if my boyfriend and I would try to have sex, it would be so dry it felt like sandpaper and I would end up convulsing with tears it was so painful and frustrating. I thought it would change...
We never heard that some people who used accutane also developed keloids. He never had then before using accutane. He says now he wishes they never put him on it and he just dealt with having the acne he had back then. I feel bad for him. He lets it effect his life. He sees it as worse then others would see it but there is not convincing him of this. He tried the shots. They didn't do anything. Did the laser work for you?

and the last question is about the relationship between Proctitis or Ulcerative Colitis and taking Isotretinoin (Accutane). do you believe that Isotretinoin (Accutane) cause Proctitis or Ulcerative Colitis ? since when I was young I used this medicine for my acne and I searched in the internet many have the same story with me - I mean using Isotretinoin (Accutane) and then Proctitis or Ulcerative Colitis. what is your idea ?
hi,i really need advice.I took up roaccutane for 2 months,i stop medication oct.3 2010..Last Oct 11 i found out that I'm pregnant so I went immediately to see a doctor.Now they endorsed me to fetu maternity unit to check the condition of my bby.I'm scheduled on Nov.3.I'm very much worried and I can't wait for my sched.Please let me know if my baby is in a risky condition.
I've only been on Accutane (actually, a generic brand of it) for ten days, and I experienced my first migraine on day 9. I am unsure if the migraine could be connected to Accutane, but I did a little research and some instances of migraines have been reported by Accutane users. I am just uncertain because I haven't been on it very long, but I am already experiencing dry lips, so I suppose I could be experiencing other side effects already, too.

Take accutane, i'm 17 now and went on it when I was 16 and it worked wonders and keeps tje acne away, I had moderate acne and oily skin too....I play Major Junior hockey and it didn't affect my play in a negative bodily way, it boosted my confidence if anything!......I did a 4 month treatment of it on a lower dose so I would reccommend that, higher doses are for sever cases like grade 4 or between 3 and 4.....
Other necessary precautions are to avoid exposure to UV rays, avoid too much alcohol, and not to take tetracycline antibiotics whilst on Accutane or for 5 weeks afterwards. Female Accutane patients must use two forms of contraception whilst on Accutane and for 5 weeks afterwards. Male patients do not need to abstain from unprotected sex but must not donate blood in case it is given to a pregnant women.
17 year old daughter having stomach issues, just got a positive test for celiac, has bad acne, derm wants to put her on accutane. I am worried about the accutane and her stomach. Not sure celiac is only cause of stomach aches. Also birth control pill used to control acne, then she went off and it came back worse than ever. My dermatologist decided it was time to give accutane a try. I did a 7 month course and reached the target cumulative dose of 120 mg/kg. I did not have much of an initial breakout, was pretty much clear for months 3 to 6. Near the end of my course I started to get a few zits.
It has now been three weeks post-accutane, and I am starting to get more and more whiteheads. Not the big inflamed whiteheads I used to get but it looks like things are returning.
