Accutane horror stories

Common Questions and Answers about Accutane horror stories

accutane

Avatar f tn ve been looking for articles regarding the use of accutane in patients with keloid/hypertrophic scarring, but all I can seem to find are horror stories of people taking accutane and going and having laser treatment/dermabrasion resulting in keloid formation. I would never do that to my skin during such a delicate time! I just want to know what to expect of my keloid prone skin *while taking* accutane. I can't find anything on the subject! My question is...
Avatar f tn t u just hate when ppl who are suppose to be ur friend fill ur mind with doubt and worry?? All week I have heard horror stories from the girls from work (who are nurses) girls we gotta remember that no pregnancy is the same and personally I feel listening to girls drag us down makes us feel waaay worse. I ended up booking a private scan cos I was so torn up by what ppl were telling me about my nausea symptoms stopping. If ur not sick ur whole pregnancy something is wrong?!?!? I was terrified.
Avatar n tn I was having a discussion on my Facebook about birth and all that and asked that anyone who commented refrained from telling horror stories.. I wanted to know about people's POSITIVE csection experience because I have a scheduled csection in June.. I know it's not all rainbows and sunshine but I don't want to psych myself out..
Avatar f tn I was on Accutane for nearly 8 months instead of the standard 5 month treatment. During the last 2-3 months of treatment, I began telling my doctor about pain in my stomach. He said it wasn't a problem and would resolve when I was done taking the drug. Well, I have been off of Accutane nearly a year, and am still having digestive problems, which I've never had before. I have had PERFECT digestion my whole life until this.
Avatar n tn I am about to start taking Accutane. I can't tell you how nervous I am. I have read so many terrible stories. None of them even matter to me as much as the two I heard relating to birth defects YEARS after the mother had taken ACCUTANE. I have read tons about NOT getting pregnant while on the medicine, that I understand. However having children is my soul purpose in life and I will absolutely not go on this drug if it will cause birth defects AFTER being off it.
324184 tn?1308076203 t necessarily pay attention to the horror stories that you find online... b/c everyone is different, but I would like some feedback. I've seen the horror stories and I've also heard (from my nurse friend - directly from other nurses who take it themselves) that it is a wonder drug.
1360763 tn?1278090069 Hiii, The medicine which you are talking about is - Ziconotide, which is FDA approved drug, given intra-thecally, for the pain control. Forget about all the horror storied and try this drug, and if it gives you relief, then nothing's better. However if you feel uncomfortable, then we can discuss further.
Avatar m tn Am 42 year old male who has had five years of painful diverticulitis off and on. I am scheduled for surgery in 5 weeks. I am only reading horror stories and am wondering if anyone has had a good outcome after surgery. I am in otherwise great health.
Avatar f tn I feel very nervous like I am having withdraw symptoms with the same dosage. I want to stop taking it tomorrow 'but have have read some horror stories. Could i be dependent on it already? 'I would like to just stop cold turkey' I hope to talk to a doctor tomorrow. this is kinda scaring me... Hopefully someone has some insight for me.
Avatar f tn Life since then was a complete nightmare... I immediately stopped accutane and asked both the gynae and dermatologist if accutane was the cause of all this. All Doctors said no. What frustrates me most is I have been getting yeast infections and even bacterial infections every two weeks. Nothing has helped at all. I really don’t know what to do anymore. I have seen so many Doctors and all of them are unable to help me.
Avatar m tn I read all of these horror stories online when I chose to go off of xanax (I was rx'd 2mgs 4x's a day!) Anyway, I did taper down to 1 2mg a day. I used it at night only. I went cold turkey off of that. The taper was quick (as in 30 days) and my withdrawal was: day 1-3 mild anxiety day 4-7 tough to sleep of course and felt just out of it. I made sure to have no unnecessary drama.
Avatar f tn Ok I am weaning off suboxone slowly have gone from 8 mgs to 4 mgs over the last 4 months but have been very depressed, the doctor started me on 30 mg of cymbalta 8 days ago, nauseous first 3 days and now mouth is very dry, haven't really noticed any other side effects and it's too soon to tell if it's helping with the depression but I've been reading some horror stories about cymbalta withdrawals, should I stop now?? Or is it alot of hype?
Avatar f tn There are so many horror stories out there. Has anyone ever stopped taking paxil successfully?
Avatar f tn s normal to be a little anxious about labor. The horror stories are out there, but so are the good stories. Try to relax, things will be ok. The bad things you hear don't happen very often.
7913021 tn?1418048620 Hello ladies!! I have my glucose screening next week-- I'm 24 weeks! & I've heard horror stories! :( I'm worried I'm gonna throw it up cause it's obviously horrible & I still have morning sickness! Mine never went away! Any tricks or advice to the moms who have had it done already??
10370221 tn?1409648755 t take it for a month just to see what would happen. I, too, read the horror stories and the tales of missed periods, but all that happened to me was that my period went back to the hellish way it had been before the pill. I take Microgestin. Remember that everyone's body will respond differently to stopping a medication like this. Of course the ones you're going to find on the internet are going to be the bad ones as people tend to only be chatty when things don't go well.
Avatar m tn I have read horror stories concerning the drug and the weight gain I have experienced since I started this drug a year and a half ago has been 30 pounds. I have never abused the drug. I usually have a few pills left over each month because I do not take them as long as I can stand the pain. Automobile accidents have did a number on my back and neck. I do receive facet blocks in both my neck and back. I also receive epidural in my back.
Avatar f tn Its rare to occur before 20wks but it does happen. Try not to read too much on the net because there are a lot of horror stories that will freak you out. Just relax, drink lots of water and keep that blood pressure down! I got to 35wks with my first and am still aiming for 36wks with this one. Don't be surprised if your dr puts you on calcium, aspirin and a low-fat diet, it will all help keep baby in there and keep you healthy. Take care!
Avatar m tn A little more detail about your situation might help others guide you. The short answer would be to avoid both. There's horror stories out there regarding both of these medications. My opinion is that Ultram has less euphoria and therefore a lower potential for abuse. That said, Ultram is a witch's brew of an anti-depressant and a pain medication that is a weak opiate-like drug, but one that metabolizes into a much stronger one.
Avatar f tn Hi all, Just wondering, is there any 1 out there that has had a positive experience with Paxil CR. I read alot of horror stories and am just wondering if it has actually helped anyone. You see, I have had panic disorder my whole life. I am 51 now. I was put on Paxil CR a few years ago and I thought it was a miracle drug. Totally got rid of my panic attacks. Still have some anxiety but am menopausal also.
Avatar f tn Inducing Is different for everyone. Just as labor is. There are many horror stories of inducing but I wouldn't worry. There are many regular bad birth stories too. When the doctor breaks your water for you, your already in pain, just like getting epidural. so not to worry it won't bring on more pain :). If on epidural you won't feel anything. It will bring on labor and then the pressure starts.
Avatar f tn Im due in 5 weeks and am nervous about delivering on base. Ive heard horror stories and the lack of a nursery and nicu scares me. Just want to know if anyone has any tips or advice.
Avatar f tn I had a TT about 2 weeks ago due to nodules and parathyroid problems. My thyroid function was completely normal before the surgery but I was exhausted due to the parathyroid problems. I was put on Levothyroxine after the surgery as well as calcium and calcitriol. I was wondering if anyone has any advice. I've been "off" since my surgery and starting meds. I'm definitely not tired any more but I feel foggy and off. I have no other health issues.
Avatar f tn VA may want to do a spinal tap checking for ms. I've heard nothing but horror stories about these. I have very low pain threshold. Any experience with this?
