Accutane cost per month

Common Questions and Answers about Accutane cost per month

accutane

Avatar m tn Majority of cases of cystic acne can be successfully treated with one 4-6 month course of isotretinoin (Accutane) at a dosage of 0.5-2.0 mg/kg body weight per day (approximately 40-160 mg per day in your case). Continued recovery and prolonged remission after discontinuation of therapy is expected, so it is not required to maintain treatment until total clearance is achieved. Progress you made should not be lost. However, in some, most severe cases, second course of therapy may be needed.
Avatar m tn 5mg per kg for the first month, then 0.6667 mg per kg for the 2nd and 3rd month and then went onto 1mg per kg for the last 3 and a half months. I am extremely concerned about the possibility of having prematurely stunting my growth as a result of taking Accutane. I have read some literature and spontaneous reports on the internet that Isotretinoin can lead to 'premature epiphyseal fusion' of the long bones.
Avatar f tn Oh I think mine was per month though not per three months. The doc would write the script for 3 months worth but they'd only give me one month at a time, so 40 a month.
Avatar f tn I just started my sixth (and final) month of Accutane (60 mg/day). Per the information in the iPledge booklet, I should not have "cosmetic procedures" until I've been off of the medication for six months since the medication interferes with the skin's ability to heal which could cause keloid scarring. In my online research, I'm finding that some doctors say 6 months is acceptable, while others say wait a full year (I even came across one or two who said to wait two years).
Avatar n tn Hi, I have been on accutane for about alittle over a month. My dose is 20mg per day. I noticed about my fifth week using it that I developed a rash on the top of both my hands. It looks like little dots/pimples. They don't itch or burn. I thought it was ezema but I don't know. Is this a side effect from the accutane? Does anyone know how to treat this rash? I never had this before.
Avatar n tn She started taking claravis 20 mg for a month and then the dosage was upped to 40 mg per month (She is 17). In the third month she complained of back pain, but that went away after a month or so. Her performance plummeted after about 3 months. Once we figured out that it was the accutane I asked around and found at least 2 other swimmers who had the same affect. There also was an article that talked about some cross country runners.

1722607 tn?1335747858 I contacted my insurance company today to ask about the price of the meds for triple treatment. A 3 month supply of interferon, ribavirin, & Victrelis would cost $180.00 (so about $60 a month) I thought it was going to be a lot higher. But I forgot to ask about "rescue drugs". Not sure how that works and how much that would be. Any one have an idea?
Avatar n tn t very severe (cystic, but just in a few spots). I did a 6-month course of Accutane several years ago with a different doctor -- in that case, the doctor started me on a low dose to minimize side effects and then eventually took me up to 40 mg. Side effects were tolerable, and my skin remained clear for a few years afterward. Given my weight, I'm a little worried about side effects at this dose.
Avatar m tn ve just been recently prescribed by my dermatologist Isotretinoin (accutane) and am on my 4th day of treatment. After doing extensive research on how accutane affects growth, it really concerns me as I'm currently only 16 years and 8 months old and hence am still in the growing stage of my life. My dermatologist however has prescribed me a very low dosage of 10mg per day for 7 consecutive days, after which would be switching onto a 30mg PER WEEK dose.
Avatar n tn Hi i started taking accutane 10mg which is a low dose accutane i have completed 1 month course but i m just 15 years old and not completed my skeletal growth is my growth plate fused plz tell me how much time does low accutane take to stop height growth??

148588 tn?1465778809 With only 10 to 30 grams of Sovaldi needed for successful treatment, the difference from the $30 production cost for Gilead’s full course of treatment—30 grams x $1.00 per gram—to $84,000 for the 12-week treatment program represents a retail markup of 279,000%.) Weinstein’s letter to state Medicaid directors also reminds them that, “Gilead did not pay to research and develop Sovaldi. In 2011, it purchased Pharmasset, the company that had already developed the drug, for $11 billion in cash.
Avatar n tn My 15-year old son is in his 4th month of Accutane. He just completed his 3rd day of football practice and is experiencing severe pain in his hips. He insists that the pain is not muscular. (He is an avid cyclist and has ridden over 100 miles on his bicycle and competed in Olympic distance triathlons, so he understands muscular-related pain.) So, what could be causing the hip pain and/or do you think that there is a high probability that it is related to the Accutane? Thanks.
Avatar n tn My 16 1/2 year old son has been on Accutane (60mg per day) for 2 months. His blood tests show liver function is great and triglycerides have stayed low. I am worried, however, about his complaints with joint pain. He recently had x rays and an MRI done on his right knee (which was an issue b4 the accutane) and then got relief for that knee when it was drained of excess fluid. He complains that he feels like an old man, something is always hurting.
Avatar f tn i pay 300 per month in copays for treatment. Each injectable is 100 per month and I'm on 3. 700 is pretty steep but that's the way things are going in healthcare. A year ago my co pay on neupogen was 45 a month.
Avatar m tn t want to keep having this happen to me and I stopped the accutane. Even after a month no accutane though, I had a period of two weeks of extreme tiredness/mild headache that promptly went away after a night of heavy drinking and booting my guts out. Fall of sophomore year, I felt fine except for one day, when I woke up with the tiredness/mild headache and I drank a lot that night, threw up and felt fine the next day. Acne was getting bad so I decided I would take the accutane for real.

Avatar n tn I am not a doctor, but I am on Accutane. It is the 2nd month of my second course of the drug. I used the cream hair removal 1 time, because I thought it would be ok as it was for sensitive skin and used it before. Big mistake. My face pretty much was burnt after with small welts all over it. Even putting aloe vera or my aveeno cream made it sting and it burnt for hours later.
Avatar m tn hi i am 21 year old , i have hypothyroidism caused by hishmoto when i was 15 year old i had acne then i went to pharmacist to ask hem medication to treat my problem ( idid mistake) any way he gave me medication that affect my vision and my concentration then i stopped to take it after just 3 days .
Avatar n tn We never heard that some people who used accutane also developed keloids. He never had then before using accutane. He says now he wishes they never put him on it and he just dealt with having the acne he had back then. I feel bad for him. He lets it effect his life. He sees it as worse then others would see it but there is not convincing him of this. He tried the shots. They didn't do anything. Did the laser work for you? Keep positive.
Avatar n tn My 17 year old daughter developed fibroadenoma one month after starting accutane. She is still on accutane. Should I wait till she is off the accutane to have the surgery?
Avatar n tn Good afternoon doctor. You Probably dont remember me but i posted probably a month ago about my acne redness? Anyway well so heres the bad news.. I just got back from the Derm today and he reviewed my skin and he said that my acne redness is scarring.. Now i thought scarring is indentions in the skin?
Avatar m tn I am currently in my fourth month of Accutane and have had very severe joint pains along with the common side effects. There was even a time when I worked a seven hour shift hosting at a restaurant and went home in so much pain from running around I got sick. My doctor never told me about that effect! Be sure to bring it up with your doctor if you are an athlete.
8812528 tn?1400857632 I'm on Accutane and to use the medicine I have to get my blood work done every month. Since being on Accutane my triglycerides have been acting up. The first 3/4 months I was mid to high 200's, but this past month I was at 733.
Avatar f tn Hello! Clomid is relatively inexpensive. I think it's about $60 or so per month. The HSG shot is also $60 or so. IUI should cost ~$300.00. The other costs will be associated with blood tests and ultrasounds, though somehow my RE billed all that through insurance under PCOS. It started costing me quite a bit of money when I did an injectible cycle. That was a flat rate of $1300, plus $300 for the IUI, plus another $1200 or so for the medication. Ouch.
Avatar f tn Ty so much for ur help. Jst stressful trying to figure it out n what to do. I was thinking it was caused by the accutane since it didn't start until a lil sooner then a month n a half on the med, n I haven't made any other changes.
