I am just wondering if it is a good idea to keep working out 6 days a week? will I gain any weight being on Accutane? Will there be any long term side affects?
I read one of the side effects could be hearing voices in your head, if that happens does that mean I will hear them forever once I stopped taking the meds? Should I eat anything with vitamin A? and if I only have mild acne but have never had clear skin since grade 7 should I still take it?
17 year old daughter having stomach issues, just got a positive test for celiac, has bad acne, derm wants to put her on accutane. I am worried about the accutane and her stomach. Not sure celiac is only cause of stomach aches. Also birth control pill used to control acne, then she went off and it came back worse than ever. She is back on the pill for almost 3 months and it is not working. Why?
I've only been on Accutane (actually, a generic brand of it) for ten days, and I experienced my first migraine on day 9. I am unsure if the migraine could be connected to Accutane, but I did a little research and some instances of migraines have been reported by Accutane users. I am just uncertain because I haven't been on it very long, but I am already experiencing dry lips, so I suppose I could be experiencing other side effects already, too.
I have been on 6 courses (6 months twice and 5 moths the other 4 times) of accutane over a 10 year period. Before accutane i used to work out and be physically fit and would run like 5 miles a day and lift weights as well. I am 5"4 and I weighed 130 pounds. I now 1 years later have put on a lot of weight. Exercise is too painful. I had 3 MRI's done a week ago and I am waiting to see a specialist on the 5th of August. The nurse said I had moderate arthritis and degeneration!
I took Accutane in the fall of 2004 and I experienced severe hair loss. (I'm a girl). My hair came out in handfulls for about 6 months. The large amount of hair that usually falls out after washing or brushing hair was falling out every half an hour if i ran my fingers through my hair. I lost about 60% of my hair. It stopped for a few months and started again for a few months to a lesser degree though. And now, 3.5 years later, it stills falls out more frequently than it should.
Yea I went to doctor and he already wanted to start me on accutane. I used to use proactive and never had a problem, but since the combo of all the creams he gave me it has gotten worse. I had folliculitis on my body from shaving but that went away. Idk if i should just stop the Cephalaxin and use proactive or continue the pill with epiduo. Seems like nothing is working.
I can say, nothing has helped the way accutane has. I got a hair cut and made the mistake of getting my hair texturized. My cousin made a comment about my hair so, now I am concerned about it thinning. Upon further inspection, it feels thinner near the crown but, she did texturize my hair. Also, I was laying on it in a certain spot. I took a video with my phone for further inspection finding nothing but I will keep a close eye on it.
Is rogain out of the question while on accutane?
3 weeks ago I had my 1st eye infection of my entire life in my right eye so I went to an opthamalogist and he told me to stop taking the accutane for a week (which is what he says caused the infection) and put me on doxyclince hyclate 100mg twice a day and eurithromyocin gel to put on my eyelid that knocked the infection out.

I just got off 2 rounds of accutane and I just went to the doctor yesterday. Both my doctor and I believe that Accutane have made my IBS severely worse. I just found out I'm pregnant and have no choice but to terminate the pregnancy because I've been taking Accutane. Do I need to stop taking Accutane in order to have the termination? Is it safe to continue with treatment following the termination?
after that i had Shaking in my hand (for 3 month then it removed) and bad concentration (i did not know till now why i did not go dr may i was thinking that is not problem ) after 4 year i did a test for thyroid and the result was positive for hypothyroidism , i want to ask if there is connection between the medication (Isotretinoin and accutane) and hypothyroidism and if it reversible
She recently (2 weeks ago) started taking a low dose of accutane every other day and noticed her face and scalp began to itch and flake. She is now concerned about her hair thinning and even being lost, claiming that it has at least begun to thin.

this is about my 3rd month i think at 40mg and i have noticed that my head is actualy peeling (please be mature) i am not circumsized so i do have skin over it but the tip of my skin has really puffed out and tured red and i actually have extremly bad pain sometimes like a really bad stinging like were it hurts to walk i have tired mosturizer on my head and the skin over it well i cant see my head anymore because when i pull the skin back to see how its bin i cant because of the pain i cant real
For the melasma, treatment options include treatment with vitamin C and hydrocortisone, peel with carbon dioxide snow and alexandrite and ND-Yag Q-Switched laser treatment preceded by a hydroquinone-based application. But get it done after the course of Accutane. Please discuss these options with your dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Once we figured out that it was the accutane I asked around and found at least 2 other swimmers who had the same affect. There also was an article that talked about some cross country runners. By the time she figured out that accutane (claravis) was slowing her down, the acne had improved so much that she just decided to throw her senior year of swimming away and get her skin cleared up before college swimming. So - accutane and athletic performance HAS NOT BEEN STUDIED!!!
I'm not sure why you need to start birth control pills or use a back up method a month before starting accutane. Maybe because that med can effect the first month of pills.
You did have a period after starting accutane and you did'nt have unprotected sex until the 13th and 16th. Like I said, if you're like most women you shouldn't be ovulating at that time. Really, the only way to know for sure if you were ovualting is if you were using an ovulation test.
Well for **** sakes, I am in my 20s, 23 almost nearing mid 20s and this **** continues. I have abs from working out but mainly through a great diet. I workout regularly and yet, this **** continues. I wonder, if I take accutane, will this eliminate current acne? My fear is that the current pimple scars. For christ sake, this has been my entire youth. I want to date. Its ******* valentines day and I never get a break. it is very frustrating.
Hello, I am a 20 year old male and have been taking accutane (claravis) for about 5 months now. I am taking two 40mg pills twice a day... I have experienced a few annoying side effects but one of the major ones i have noticed is hair loss. I had very thick hair pre-accutane and i noticed hair-thnning lately and my hairline as also been receding. This is driving me crazy. Will this be a permanent side-effect or temporary and will my hair come back to its original hair-line.
