If that is the case, the doctor could have treated it with something other than accutane. How long have you been off accutane and how long have you been treated for depression/anxiety? Was it during the time you were on accutane or once off of it? My gut feeling is that once the accutane is completely out of your system, your depression and anxiety will get back to where they were before.
I took Accutane in the fall of 2004 and I experienced severe hair loss. (I'm a girl). My hair came out in handfulls for about 6 months. The large amount of hair that usually falls out after washing or brushing hair was falling out every half an hour if i ran my fingers through my hair. I lost about 60% of my hair. It stopped for a few months and started again for a few months to a lesser degree though. And now, 3.5 years later, it stills falls out more frequently than it should.
3 weeks ago I had my 1st eye infection of my entire life in my right eye so I went to an opthamalogist and he told me to stop taking the accutane for a week (which is what he says caused the infection) and put me on doxyclince hyclate 100mg twice a day and eurithromyocin gel to put on my eyelid that knocked the infection out.
earlier i was on antibiotics and then took accutane...from Feb 2011 to May 2011 i was on doxycycline (and then whn i had another severe acne break out) from Sept 2011 to Dec 2011 i was taking azithromycin and from Jan 2012 to March 2012 i was on tane... i m not ready to take oral medications any more... for nearly past two and a half years i was on antibiotics. my stomach is a complete mess now. COMPLETE MESS!!

By all means discuss this with your dermatologist and share your frustration. There are other options besides Accutane. If you do take Accutane, you will need regular blood tests to check your liver and your cholesterol and triglycerides. You will also need to register with the Federal iPledge program, or else no pharmacy can dispense the medication.
When Accutane is given for the kind of acne you say you have, it may clear things up, only to have the acne return several months later.
hey im 19 and i just started accutane the first month was 40mg per day now the second month im on 60mg
and for the past one week i have like a red line in the white of one of my eye..im scared ive heard if the white of your eye shows redness its a sign that yur liver is going bad.. i dont smoke.. i rarely drink..i eat very healthy..should i get my liver checked or is this one of the side effects of accutane? please help

5 year old son that was treated with accutane when he was almost14 years old. A bone age x-ray was taken before the start of accutane and the reading was a of a normal 14 year old. After the 20 week accutane treatment we had another bone age x-ray taken and the reading was of a person of 15.5 years of age but the actual age of my son was 14 years 2 months. His height growth since the treatment has been only 1.5 inches. The height of my son was 68.5 inches at the first bone age x-ray.
Accutane is known to cause problems in skeletal system of growing teens. I took it around the same age as your son and had severe pain. I called "Rosche" the company that makes Accutane and they said it can stunt growth in teens by closing the epiphyseal plates prematurely. I'm 21 now and my height of 5'7'' hasn't increased since my last cycle of Accutane. I also remember having severe joint and muscle pain after HS tennis practices. - 21 male.
m on accutane now (40mg/day; 3rd week) and am suffering the worst gas, tummy rumbles (loud!), and both constipation/ diarrhea. I'm getting scared that I've permanently damaged my intestines/gut and am trying to hear back from other people that have gone through similar things. i wish there was more information readily available/ easily referenced on it. i've found lots of stories from people, but no data. it's very frustrating.
today and he said that he believed it was indeed from the accutane and dryness it causes and advised I stop using accutate! Well 2 months into this I hate to stop now. I have used everything from creams, lotion, neoaspiren and nothing makes it go away but it does soothe the pain. I have an appointment with my dermatologist on Friday and am going to see what she says. After reading this site I have the EXACT thing as described above so I feel much better that it is from the Accutane.
This usually presents with widespread myalgia and arthralgia, headaches, chronic mental and physical exhaustion, cognitive difficulties, concentration difficulty and memory problems.
Then you also need to investigate other causes of brain fog like liver dysfunction (get liver enzymes done—liver function test), kidney dysfunction (get kidney function test done), and anemia. Poor sleep pattern and sleep problems like sleep apnea too can cause brain fog.
If I have gingivitis to the point where my gums bleed and I sometimes can see blood and if shared a drink or smoke with someone who had equally bad gingivitis. Could I get hep c tht way even tho the saliva shared was very small. Please advice I dont have money to get tested. And almost everything i read says no. But theres some tht say its possible.
I've only been on Accutane (actually, a generic brand of it) for ten days, and I experienced my first migraine on day 9. I am unsure if the migraine could be connected to Accutane, but I did a little research and some instances of migraines have been reported by Accutane users. I am just uncertain because I haven't been on it very long, but I am already experiencing dry lips, so I suppose I could be experiencing other side effects already, too.

I'm looking for some advice/reassurance. I have been off accutane for a little over a year, during which time I have had at most one zit at any one time which would disappear relatively quickly. In the last few days, however, I have had two zits appear simultaneously, and I'm slightly worried. I've been using benzoyl peroxide religiously for the past several months, so now I'm questioning whether the positive effect of the accutane may be over.
I have taken a single course of roaccutane for 6months but with low doses and i have stopped this medictation 2years ago and thank god i have no problems with my digestive system but i have read alot about the IBS & IBD and that they are linked to accutane and that any accutane taker will develop IBS or IBD this is true??? and if what can i do to prevent this??
Please explore other options with your dermatologist. If Accutane has not affected your liver function and your lipid profile, then we need not be unduly worried.

17 year old daughter having stomach issues, just got a positive test for celiac, has bad acne, derm wants to put her on accutane. I am worried about the accutane and her stomach. Not sure celiac is only cause of stomach aches. Also birth control pill used to control acne, then she went off and it came back worse than ever. She is back on the pill for almost 3 months and it is not working. Why?
t really enjoy it because of the dryness and lack of excitement and I really wonder if that is due to the long-term effects of Accutane causing the dryness and libido problems. If I hear anyone in the future bring up going on this medication, I will steer them clear because it has caused nothing but problems. Keep in mind, my acne also came back so all of that crap for nothing. GOOD LUCK! Hopefully things get better for you.
