Common Questions and Answers about Absence seizure youtube

seizure

Avatar n tn I get simple partial and tonic clonic seizures by the way, and I used to get absence seizures. So, seizure activity can really mimic psychiatric symptoms. Now I have to wonder if my antipsychotic-resistant psychosis is psychiatric or due to my under treated seizures.
Avatar f tn My tremors are so severe at times that I look like I am having a seizure, but I'm not. I get body twitches that I can not control. My hand might just fly up in the air, sometimes it's a leg, or finger, and I've even had my entire body twitch so hard that it hurts. If anyone else has these symptoms, please let me know and do you have a diagnosis? Are there any meds or things out there to help with the tremors and body twitches. They are making me very weak.
Avatar m tn Have you ever had your son to see a Neurologist? youtube and look put in seizure Video's . some of what you say sound's like your son is having absence seizures.there are quit a few there to look at. I would have your son doctor send him to see a Neurologist if he has not been to see one and have them do a EEG and run some blood work. you didn't say if your son is on any medicines or has been on any in the past? there also is something called sensory disorder.
1405176 tn?1281137777 We lost our German Shepherd a month prior from complications of a seizure disorder and had to put her to sleep when she had a seizure that the ER vet could not stop. At least we understood what happened with her. With our Golden, it was so sudden and I understand your pain. The loss of our two is heartbreaking to say the least. Avatar n tn Could also be you have a type of seizure going on. You should indeed go to a new neurologist group, they should do a CAT scan of your head and neck, and they should also do a 24-hour EEG on you (tests brainwaves), and they should also do an EMG for you (tests neuromuscular activity). In the meantime, you could get a soft neck collar at the drugstore, and if they don't have any there, ask the pharmacist where you might get one.
Avatar m tn It feels like my head is shaking and vibrating and its a pretty scary experience. It almosts feels like a brain seizure but again I don't recall if I am actually physically moving or wethere my eyes are rapidly moving. I have tried for years to figure out what causes this phenomena but I have come up short-handed. The docs at first thought I had sleep paralysis and then they ruled that out and said it was sleep starts.
Avatar n tn Don't be afraid to stop Paxil, just do so very gradually, slow down tapering, get help if problems are bad. I tried half dose for a week, quarter next week, eighth next but that was too fast. Chopped pills, now down to a fragment, or nothing if I'm really tired and expect to sleep thru the nite. Reply if you want to discuss that in more detail Every medicine, and withdrawal, is a single subject experiment.. You'll probably experience withdrawal.
147426 tn?1317269232 It should be remembered, however, that approximately 5% of patients with clinically definite MS do not show lesions on MRI, and the absence of demyelination on MRI does not rule out MS. Also, since many lesions seen on MRI may be in so-called "silent" areas of the brain, it is not always possible to make a specific correlation between what is seen on the MRI scan and the patient's clinical signs and symptoms.
Avatar f tn I have had abnormal PET scan which showed aabnormal glucose uptake in the brain and now am having seizures due to the inflammation in the brain. I see a neuro who started me on IVIG monthly and now am taking seizure meds. I would recommeend seeing a general practitioner than a neuro if needed. Its very frustrating because it wakes me at night and cant sleep. I also have other symptoms like memory problems, feelings of weakness in arms and legs and feeling "foggy".
Avatar n tn I don't want to scare anyone- but you may want to ask your doctors about a seizure disorder. I've been smelling smoke for about a year also and about a month I had a grand mal seizure. I was told it is an uncommon but possilbe link so just mention it. I think the term for a "phantom smell seizure" is a partial seizure. Once again, this is only to help you ask questions and not to scare you.
363682 tn?1299492962 This has some molecular and genetic explanation which has something to do with alcohol metabolism in the body. In the absence of other symptoms though (eg weight loss, changes in bowel movement, neurological deficits) ,this may not be very urgent. One important thing to exclude here though is an allergic reaction.Watch out for any diffiulty of breathing, rash that involves the entire body and generalized sensation of flushing. Continue to have a close follow up with your doctor.
Avatar n tn I think we could be experiencing some type of epileptic seizure, which only manifest itself when the brain is the sleeping mode. The sleep study will clear this one up. Just think how colorful things will be once your sleep study is conducted, and the answers start to pour in. Just a few more days--hang in there, my friend—Good luck—Please keep in touch. Bobito.
