abscess

Avatar f tn I searched about this and came across dental abscesses, but in the pictures i see, dental abscess grow around the gums where the roots of the tooth are like this http://freedentalcarehelp.com/images/What%20is%20a%20tooth%20abscess.jpg. but mine is inside my molar. i have this huge whole in my molar, and IT'S inside it. (i dont know it this makes any sense, im trying my best to explain it, sorry) can that be a dental abscess?
Avatar n tn If you had an abscess, he shouldn't not have TOUCHED that tooth. The fluids inside of an abscess are highly toxic and potentially deadly. The White that you are seeing is more than likely the the abscess on the surface of the skin. The only thing than you can safely do is take antibiotics until the abscess is gone. It's very important that you take ALL of the antibiotics until the whole bottle is gone. Just because it stops hurting does not mean that the infection is gone.
Avatar n tn It's never given me any problems but recently it bleeds once in a while, especially when I wake up in the morning, my spit is sort of bloody, thanks to this ingrown tooth. The gap smells pretty foul too now. It has NO pain however. I've taken a few pictures to help you guys see what it looks like. I was hoping to get some guidance as to what I should do.
Avatar m tn We took him to the emergency vet, and they kept him a few days and took blood samples and were able to open his jaw to see if he had a tooth abscess and they took xrays also. He was given antibiotics and steroids. They said they couldn't find any cause or problem, and was very frustrating for us because not only was that visit and procedures over $1,000 the swelling is now returning. The swelling did go down while he was on steroids. He is eating and running about normally.
405614 tn?1329147714 Last week, I had a tooth get really sensitive to cold and pressure, on the opposite side from my TN. I called my dentist's office, asked if they could check my X-rays and see if there was a noticeable issue (hoping that it would be something simple). I was told I needed to be seen, and made an appointment for today. Over the weekend, I noticed pain on the other side, and discovered an abscess.
Avatar n tn I wonder how the dentist could not discover the abscess earlier, bearing in mind that she worked on the same tooth and took x-ray pictures just a week ago? Can an abscess be activated by a dentists intervention somehow? I had never experienced any pain before, I always do my medical checks and things are taken care of timely, or at least I have tried to do my part to achieve this. I mean I have never suspected an infection.
Avatar n tn MY CAT WAS OUT ALL NIGHT LAST NIGHT AND CAME HOME THIS MORNING. HE WAS FINE ALL DAY UNTIL MY DAD SAID HE HAD A CUT UNDER HIS CHIN OR SOMETHING. I LIFTED UP HIS CHIN AND THERE IS A CIRCULAR CUT..A WOUND AND THERE IS A THING INSIDE OF IT. IT'S A WHITE THING BUT IT'S NOT A BONE. I DON'T THINK IT'S PUS BECAUSE IT'S IN THE MIDDLE OF BEING HARD AND SOFT. IT'S LIKE A YELLOW WHITE AND IT SMELLS REALLY BAD. THIS CUT/WOUND IS SURROUNDED BUT A PATCH OF MISSING FUR.
Avatar f tn My first thought when looking at this was that it is perhaps a tooth abscess. Has he had his teeth checked recently? On the other hand, it could also be a cyst. If, when you gently feel it, does it feel attached somehow, or does it lift up with the skin? If it lifts up it sounds very much like a cyst. Does it appear to cause him any discomfort or do you see him shaking his head sometimes? It has a very rounded appearance, and that is quite cyst-like.
Avatar m tn A mucocoele is caused by blocked salivary glands and appears clear or as a blue tinged growth. Tooth abscess can cause painful bump on the roof of mouth. Treatment will depend on the underlying cause. See a doctor and get it examined.I will recommend you to see an oral surgeon for a confirmation of the diagnosis. Do keep me posted. Best luck and regards!
293157 tn?1285877039 The bone recedes, letting go of the tooth, thus causing the tooth to be loose. The tooth then can allow bacteria and plaque to enter below the gum line, causing abscesses, pain, sensitivity, etc... I was just guessing on why you could be loosing teeth, but I would ask your dentist, straight up for answers as to why.
Avatar m tn The vet said instead we would schedule to put her under and do an x-ray and if it shows an abscess of the tooth root, then they will extract it at a cost of $900! If the x-ray doesn’t show an abscess then they will flush the tear ducts and the cost would be $500. As of tonight, the swelling is all gone thanks to that high dose of anti-inflammatory I can't take home.
Avatar m tn But to clear doubts you could see if any of the draining areas have any evidence of infection, like tonsils, the skin, tooth abscess or an ear infection. Infections like tuberculosis can cause lymphadenopathy. It would be worthwhile to see if other lymph groups are enlarged namely, axilla and groin, these can be palpated, the others like those in the chest or abdomen may need a CT to detect their enlargement. Also correlate with blood counts, this could lead to further analysis. Regards.
Avatar n tn 11AM My wife, has had this pain over a year, it started with miild tooth ache that stopped, but when it returned, she went to our regualar dentist, Dentist said she had abscessed tooth and needed a root canal, did so the next day at Endondist. Avatar n tn She is now 6 and everyone in her class has lost at least one tooth, many have lost several. I know you shoudln't compare, but she doesn't even have one loose tooth in her head!!! I have mentioned it to her pedi who seems unconcerned. But come on, 6 with no loose teeth? Anyone dealt with this?
Avatar f tn I never knew but was diagnosed with osteomeylitis. Thru two cat scans, and never told nor treated, also mandibular abscess. Home with picc line a month later a new abscess . Incredible agony. sypmtoms always reported, but never written. He was making up lies and I did not know it. When I caught him in a lie, I got my new guy who believed me from the minute he saw me he knew I was in serious trouble.
Avatar m tn Assuming they did one of those 180-degree teeth X-rays, where you stand in a little booth and the machine goes around the front of your face, to get pictures of your whole dental situation in your mouth, well, that will not make you dizzy or give you a headache. If they were doing that kind of X-ray, it's no different than if they X-rayed your chest where your heart is or X-rayed your leg.
Avatar m tn I had some dental work done in December and I still have a rotten tooth which I had fo longue time but last year I had an abscess on this tooth. I had a canal teatment done and a kind of a fake tooth put in put still not covered with a crown.
Avatar f tn Could be you have an infection that has settled into the lymph nodes in your cheek, like an abscess from a tooth or infection in your ear. Feel of the lymphs in your cheek, and also in the neck between the throat and the corner of the jaw... if either area is tender to the touch, that's an indicator you have an infection in your head somewhere. A dentist can determine if it's a tooth. Your regular doc can do some bloodwork to look for infection, bacteria, and so on.
Avatar n tn She ordered a CT scan of my sinuses, which turned up some phlegmy pictures of my maxillary sinuses, and a possible cyst or two, but she assured me these were nothing to be concerned about. Also got some antibiotics, which did nothing. Also took blood and allergy tests, which were all normal. Next I went to my dentist. He checked out the gums and back of my mouth and saw nothing. X-rays showed no decay, except one tooth on the right-lower side that he said was “getting there,” but could wait.

Avatar m tn That's what my cat's skin cancer looked like it started like a bump which I though was a abscess at first then began to open and would bleed off and on, I thought it was a bad infection cause that is what the first vet had said so I also bought her a skin disinfectent spray but it would never heal so I knew something else must be wrong so I'm glad I took her to the vet; now the next thing is surgery and all I can do is hope and pray everything goes well.
Avatar f tn Ok This is gross. I've had an abscess on my gum for at least 6 months now, and can't afford to go get it taken care of. So every few days I do a little self surgery, with an exacto blade to relieve the pressure. Its disgusting but cool at the same time, like popping the most giant zit. So gross, so gross. Hiding my head now.
Avatar n tn org/wiki/Sebaceous_cyst It shows pictures of the cyst. This is what I have on my left vaginal lip or it sure looks and sounds like what everyone on here is discribing. Mine just started the other day. I squeezed it a couple times and got some puss. but it is still there!!!! ARRRGGGG!!!
408795 tn?1324939275 It scarred this kid terribly-changed him for life at 16. This guy never got a chance, anywhere! He had an abscess tooth in jail, he suffered weeks before they even gave him a tylenol! Has he 'paid' for his crime and deserves no treatment? Nothing is black and white. I believe they can get help, Fret, if there is a squeaky wheel on the outside. And while greedy, unfair lawsuits hurt us in all area's, some are justified.
Avatar m tn One of the causes of maxillary sinusitis is a tooth abscess that has leaked the infection into the maxillary sinus. The teeth may be X-rayed to find this. • Ethmoid sinuses. If infection occurs, you may get puffy eyes and pain between them. The sides of your nose may get tender to the touch, your nose may get stuffy, and you won’t be able to smell so well. You may also get a splitting headache, felt most intensely in the forehead. • Sphenoid sinuses.
Avatar n tn I found that I had mercury in my fillings and am losing my teeth. Ironically a capped tooth fell into my hand and you can see the metals used, but I don't know what they are. Mercury does not stay in the blood, so I will have a soft tissue biopsy, but Cobalt isn't routinely tested for Heavy Metal Toxicity. Can you tell me what I need to ask for?
Avatar n tn well, the mri/mra would have shown a developing aneurysm, or avm. an arterial vein malformation gives off symptoms like a cva. so does an aneurysm, in any case the mri scan would have definitely picked it up. an aneurysm is a balooning of an artery in many levels, there can be a dissecting, that is whenit forms a pseudolumen, which fills with blood.
