Avatar f tn If you don't have a problem with aspirin, you could try dissolving some baby aspirin on your tooth and the surrounding area. Or oil of cloves to help numb it. But I am not a doctor, so you really should find someone to call. Your local pharmacist may be helpful. They have a lot of training. Good luck. I hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn By my description she mentioned something about fissure and the implant could cause some small infection that come to the top in the form of a pimple on my gums but could also be an abscess from a near by tooth. She said that it will continue to drain because of the type of infection and the fact that it needs to "get out" someway. As depressing as it seems she did say that the implant may need to come out and we may have to start over.
1839466 tn?1432596684 Last week, i ended up having my first encounter with a abscess tooth. It was and has been horrible. Since then, I have been put on Advil, Hydrocodon-acetanino, and Clindamycin. I've also seen my dentist who started a root canal on the tooth but just drilled a whole, did some drainage, not all, and left a sponge in it so it can fully drain. I'm supposed to go back next week to complete the full root canal.
Avatar f tn can it be done with out anesthesia, and what are some herbs and natural remedies to clear the infected area after the tooth is romoved?
Avatar m tn Hi! I have an alveolar abscess that I went to the hospital late the night prior in order to get antibiotics. The Dr. drained the abscess and prescribed 875mg of Amoxicillin. When I took the first Amox. pill, I had really bad flu-like symptoms not long after (hot flashes, chills, achy muscles, nausea, light-headedness, and dry heaving). Puss from the abscess drained into my mouth during a shower this morning, and it feels a bit better.
1462810 tn?1327364049 just try it- a slice of raw garlic wrapped in a bit of gauze placed between the lip and gum over a tooth abscess, within 45 minutes the pain will be gone, with repeated application so will the infection. Your dentist will NEVER tell you about that one. If you want your eyes opened, visit www.naturalnews.com . If you use Facebook you can "like" their page and you will get regular updates to your home page. Also www.earthclinic.com, just amazing what natural substances can do!
Avatar n tn I had an abscessed tooth removed after being on antibiotics for one week, my jaw was a bit swollen before he removed the tooth the swelling had not gone down with the antibiotics. There was an awful smell which he said was the abscess. I am taking amoxcillin at the moment and it now 8 days since the extraction but my jaw is still swollen the same as it was before the extraction, is this normal should the swelling be going down by now, it is not really painful.

Avatar f tn 30weeks prwgnant and my wisdom tooth is playing up. I was suppose to remove it before i got pregnant but i couldnt and the pain went away. All of a sudden noe its back 3 days its still under the gum but can see some tooth.
Avatar f tn I go to the dentist alot to get it checked out he prob thinks I'm crazy. I had a very bad tooth abscess once that took over 4 months and many procedures to cure. I don't like taking medication either. My doctor recommended Lexapro but in the past i've taken meds that either didn't help or I had side effects from them.
Avatar f tn That it is NORMAL that when a tooth is opened (for RT) that bacteria could get in there. DUH. But to me, it is NOT NORMAL that a Dentist would leave my teeth exposed for such a long time. He said that it had nothing to do with this. To him, it is all normal. I am worried to death that I will have to have my teeth pulled. I actually have 4 teeth that are bothering me after the work he has done. He says he will repair them for free. Of course he better! But that is not the point.
Avatar f tn I've always been a worry wart, but never like this. The dentist didn't mention an abscess, just a tooth infection. Are they the same thing??? It's really weird, bc I don't have pain or swelling in that area.
Avatar n tn Is there a way to kill the infection in a more natural way? Like garlic perhaps? Also most alarming was last night it was throbbing as always but suddenly there was an extremely sharp shooting pain, felt like a pop almost then nothing. no more pain in that tooth. Did my nerve die or something?
5787844 tn?1376082584 Tylenol 3 was on the list but I ended up not needing it. As for the dentist I would blow there phone up. The abscess is full of infection so it needs to be taken care of ASAP. Regardless of how far pregnant along you are they can atleast drain it.
14987752 tn?1437745303 Going back to your dentist to have a post op exam is advised. Your descriptions suggest presence of bacterial resistance to amoxicillin. Switching to other antibiotics may help sooner recovery.

168348 tn?1379360675 Now wait 'til Monday to see what's up. Cannot even bite down on the bite paper at the dentist today w/o excrutiating pain. For the first time ever, my dentist saw FEAR in my face and body when he attempted to "tap" the tooth .. tap the tooth . no way doc .. sorry charlie .. I cannot even bite down on the bite paper (that black paper) without excrutiating pain. Now the good news: This isn't an abscess and it's the orig.
Avatar n tn The surgeon showed me photos of the abscess and said it was a large one. The tooth was fine for about 6 months as well as the nasal pain. But now there is once again a swelling and the site of the swelling feels uncomfortable. Moreover, I have been feeling easy fatigue and little ability to concentrate or focus effort. I researched the material the surgeon used for the apicoectomy (MTA for retrograde root filling) and found that it contains small amounts of arsenic in it.
Avatar n tn I had a tooth with a large filling it. A large portion of the tooth chipped off. As expected, I needed a crown. So the doctor drilled the tooth away and say there was a cavity underneath the filling, and so he said he had to go very close to the nerve. I have no sensitivity to hot/cold, but I can "feel" the tooth biting down on it. Not sure if that makes sense. It doesn't necessarily hurt, I just feel pressure on that tooth/temporary crown much more.
Avatar f tn is it best to get a abcessed tooth out bleeds alot 26 weeks prego dentist gave me option to try n sav it or extract it but he said the tooth looks done an i have to make a decision quick i would like to sav it but dont think it can be done im sick of it gushing blood wen i bearly touch it brushing my teeth.
Avatar n tn Hopefully, it's an abscess tooth that can be pulled.....It's not that he won't eat, but that he can't because it hurts too bad....He will need antibiotics for the infection.....This will only get worse if left untreated....Call your Vet for an appointment, Tomorrow....Let us know what you find out.....
Avatar m tn I know that about12 years ago it worked on another tooth that was hurting and I still have that tooth and without needing a root canal. Thank you!
3148906 tn?1343699395 I have had many abscess teeth/tooth over the past 3 months one after anther i have found 2 antibiotics work quiet well.and a otc quick remedy as a well. Cipro, and penicillin are 2 good antibiotics that work very well. Also buy some sensodyne tooth paste this works quickly for pain(but sensodyne is a temp fix.
Avatar n tn Surgical removal of the abscess as a whole is required. The abscess capsule needs to be removed as well. Once the abscess has been removed, the inciting tooth needs to be extracted, even if it is still firmly attached. Ideally the wound should be left open and filled with antibiotics. Common treatments of the open wound include antibiotic beads, antibiotic swabs/sponges, gels, ointments and manuka honey.
Avatar f tn I'm seventeen, in orthodontic care, and I have a severe abscess on my second tooth (the back-most one on the right, as I don't appear to have wisdom teeth), bad enough that the endodontist prescribed a one week course of amoxicillin twice daily, 875 milligrams per pill. My new dentist has recommended a root canal, but combined with the crown and buildup filling, it may well be about as expensive as an implant.
Avatar m tn Anyway, about 5yrs or so later (during the fall season) I had a HUGE infection of some kind that began as only pressure above the left tooth. Over the next few days it grew and grew- eventually becoming this enormous swelling beneath the left side of my nose, face, and also swelled up my entire top lip/// I looked like the elephant man. Upon going to the doctor- he wasn't sure what it was.
Avatar m tn The doctor probably would have checked that though. Best way to tell if it's mumps is to eat a dill pickle. An infected tooth ( abscess) can cause those symptoms as well. If he develops blisters in his mouth around the gums, he should see a dentist...that's a sign of an abscess tooth. Did the doctor say if he had fluid in his ear? Or did he just say that he saw swelling?
1644117 tn?1300978433 I lifted his upper lip to see that the area at the tooth line is also flame red. However, it's not affecting the whole gum, it's just as if someone took a scratchy red marker and drew a intermittent width line along the gum line where his teeth meet the gum. I started him on Clavamox antibiotics that my Veterinarian gave me for another cat that has just passed from heart failure. I was wondering if there's anything natural I can do to help him.
Avatar f tn I had extractions and implants (and an infected abscess) in June on the upper right side of my mouth. It was necessary to remove an old bridge. I am about to start the process of getting a new bridge completed. Before I do that I want to be sure that the cause of the bad taste isn't going to be 'sealed in.'- Post-surgery it was thought that heavy doses of antibiotics - to treat the abscess -- were the cause. But it's been six months since I stopped the antibiotics.
