My almost 20 year old calico cat has developed a jaw abscess that has broken through the skin to drain. I know from reading the forum this is VERY bad and I can't afford to bring her to the vet. I was the unlucky recipient of a blow to my left testicle and shortly after it had swollen a little and I noticed an abscess that was soft but sensitive. I have tried 27 oral antibiotics, finding allergies to 6. Dear Guys, I developed abscess three times with in two weeks interval in my groin area.....the last two were big and required surgery with full ansthesia. My doc therefore suggested to escape the shot at least for one week so i did not take the shot last week. I continued to take it again but I developed another abscess on the preannal position. Hi, I recently as in 5 days ago had a breast abscess surgically removed at the hospital. It was an emergency type situation and was done straight away. Ive been on cephalexin for a bit more then 24 hrs now but the swelling and pain has not subsided at all. So my question is, when can i expect relief??? And is it because of me that my dentist couldn't remove the teeth? He said that he couldn't extract them because I was too nervous and basically he 'couldn't do his job'. I actually was pretty wasted that night and I know I started off with protection but the ending was sketchy at best hence the fear.
I have been tested and I'm negative but gonna check with the professionals here to make sure I don't have to re-test later on but such a huge sigh of relief for me...

I have had a smallish (maybe 2 cm in diameter) skin abscess or infected cyst on my back next to my cervical spine for the last 2 weeks which doesn't seem to be getting bigger or coming to a head (I tried squeezing it thinking it was a pimple at first.) When I touch it, it feels soft/puffy as though there's some fluid under it (same as a gum boil) and it's no longer hot/painful, just itchy sometimes.
I wanted to know if these symptoms were brain abscess symptoms. I am a bit of a hypacondriact and I always think the worst is happening when it's usually very normal issues. IE if i have slight chest pain, I will think I have heart issues. That sort of thing. I think maybe my anxiety is getting the better of me.

In Nov 2008, I had a swelling below my right breast which was diagnosed as "Abscess". It would ooze out puss with blood and was very painful. After healing,a scar developed around that spot and A FOUL SMELL THAT OF PUS actually emanates from that area(i.e when you touch the area surrounding the scar)

It sounds to me like you have a pulpitis which is an inflammation of the nerve of the tooth. This can be reversible where the symptoms abate or irreversible and the tooth requires root canal therapy. From your symptoms I would venture to say this tooth needs RCT.I would see your dentist asap.

Could also be an abscess, warm compresses may help relieve that. If it doesn't subside than your family doc may lance and drain it. You will usually feel instant relief after that.
