i have received antitbiotics for the infection. Do i need to have it drained? If so what type of Doctor/Dentist do you recommend?

Do you know of any symptoms of it spreading??? Do you suffer from anxiety, by any chance??? Just want to feel normal again, and feel stuck. I keep thinking I should be at the er...

He felt fine after a couple of days and all was well. But about two weeks later the same symptoms returned (w/ a fever of 101.6) and the doctors ruled out strep and mono once again and put him on the same medication regimen. Could his symptoms possibly stem from a tooth abscess?? If not a tooth abscess what else do you think could be causing his symptoms? Thank you in advance for your response.

by the time i got to the er the doctor told me that my abscess was 1 inch by 3/8 of an inch big. that is pretty large for an abscess. with something like this the longer you put it off the worst it will get. hope you feel better soon.

My brother injected himself with what he says is a mixture of his own feces and water. He did this IM and now has a knot in his arm at the injection site and a fever. He refuses to go to the doctor. I had a hole in my heart closed in august 2009 and I take preventative antibiotics for all my dental work because of risk of infection. I have been having these kinds of symptoms since November 2009.
