abscess

Avatar f tn I currently have been dealng with a recurrent subareolar breast abscess. I was first treated with ten days of keflex two times a day, in which it got better but then came back. Next I went to a breast surgeon and she performed incision and drainage and another ten days of keflex. The abscess still would not heal so I had surgery a few days ago in which the surgeon removed the abscess and I thnk some of the infected ducts.
Avatar n tn m 41yrs old, in reasonable fitness and health but have been diagnosed with a ruptured appendix and have had a drain/antibiotic therapy to clear up the infection and abscess. The appendix will be taken out in 4 weeks' time. What range of physical activity should I carry out in the interval? Would there be a risk of causing damage by lifting, bending, moderate gym exercise etc ? Thanks..
Avatar m tn shtml Some stubborn cases of folliculitis have been responsive to laser-assisted hair removal. This process uses a laser to destroy the follicle. This reduces the scarring that results from folliculitis. Let us know if you need any other information and consult a skin specialist if the lesion is persistent. Regards.
Avatar f tn I believe Crown failures are common after 5 -15 years, simply because bacteria will get inside of the crown and have a field day with your tooth, all the while the bacteria are protected from removal, hidden by the crown. Many Dentists does not communicate this reality when they sell you on getting the crown. An Endodontics can do the root canal without removing the crown, they just drill through the crown, do the root canal and seal entry of the crown. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn After gall bladder surgery if you are having pain then liver studies should be done. The pain could be due to an abscess. A CT scan should be done. It can also be due to acidity and duodenal ulcer. Take a late night snack. Raise head end of bed. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. Walking around also helps clear gas. It could also be muscle pull that can be treated by applying local analgesic creams.
Avatar f tn Impacted lower wisdom tooth is rarely the culprit of temporomandibular disorder. However, removal of impacted wisdom tooth yields long term dental denefits.
Avatar f tn On Sunday, I sought medical treatment at a local clinic as my doctors office was closed. They lanced, drained, and packed the abscess. The PA did things much differently than I've ever had done before. Firstly, he used no lidocaine or numbing medication, as he said it doesn't help. Let me tell you-this was much more excruciating than the other lances I've had done. Also, he didn't squeeze the pus out, he just let it drain on its own.
Avatar f tn I had them removed by laparoscopy, but the surgeon ended up having to make a lower abdominal incision to get the biggest cyst out and repair my ovaries (also the cyst ruptured during removal I was told). I went home the next day, then returned to the hospital 3 days later with severe abdominal pain and fever. I was diagnosed with a pelvic abscess and severe infection. After a week in the hospital, I was sent home with a picc-line in my arm and a drainage tube for the abscess.
Avatar n tn IS THIS AN ABSCESS TOOTH OR IS THIS FLUID FROM MY EAR. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY AFTER TWO ROUNDS OF ANITBOTICS IF THIS IS AN ABSCESS IT HASN'T WENT DOWN.
Avatar n tn so sad when we get a dx like this one, poor kitty....honey didn't the Vet you consulted give you some advice on how to proceed? it does sound very much like mammary cancer, the thing is with a cancerous abscess opening and draining there isn't any likely hood of getting the area to heal....what she needs is surgical removal of the nipple, however perhaps you were told its too late for surgical intervention.(?
Avatar f tn It could also be an abscess. Normally removal of a lump is a simple procedure and you know that as you had one removed on your arm. However if you are having a funny feeling about this lump, maybe you can seek a second opinion. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage without examining you. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn ve given her flea/tick medicine about 3 days after the tick removal, so that was supposed to prevent any other ticks from biting on. Is she having some sort of reaction, what would be the cause of the scar growing?
Avatar f tn How long is a typical recovery for this type of removal? Also my doctor says that both fallopian tubes maybe destoyed and have to be removed.
Avatar f tn It seems she had caught all of her doctors (even her PCP) flat footed. She had a huge abscess in her abdomen and had shown none of the normal signs. The surgeon had to re-open her abdomen and surgically remove the abscess because the infection was too thick to do it any other way. Since that surgery my wife's health has done a complete turn around. She's back to having severe abdominal pain (Sometimes I'll find her bent over in so much pain).
Avatar f tn I am 28 yrs old female. I have recurring upper left quadrant pain, radiating thru to under left shoulder blade that is moderate, but severe when I inhale or move a certain way. I also have a constant "ate too much" feeling, and occasionally( for lack of better description) a heartbeat in my stomach area just below where the pain is. I have had several test on the heart as well as GI.
Avatar f tn Hi, This could be an infected cyst,or maybe an abscess that can occur on the breast like on any other part on the body. These kind of infected lumps are usually treated with antibiotics. But if it keeps coming back, surgical removal of the infected area may be necessary. I don't think you should be worrying too much, because it doesn't sound at all like a breast cancer symptom, but you should see your doctor ASAP so that this painful lump can be adequately treated. Best wishes...
Avatar n tn I had a ct scan done for what we thought was an abscess on my kidney but it turned out to be a nodule on my adrenal glad, a 4.6cm x 5.3cm ovarian cyst, and a also was diagnosed with a lesion on my cervix within about 2 weeks of each other. I go and see the surgeon today and hopefully they will do all three procedures at once (removal of cyst, nodule, and a colposcopy of my cervix) instead of seperating them. Has anybody gone through this all at once or am I just weird?
Avatar f tn I had mine drained by fine needle without ultrasound, and they did local anesthesia.I got tired of going to Doctor every week to have my abscess drained so I decided to let the abscesses open on their own; the abscess will be draining from a little wound, until it heals. Pain stills there, but not all the time I just take Ibuprofen 400mg when it really hurts...apart of that I am drugs free right now. Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn Hello, I have a tooth (4th upper to the right) which had long ago been root-canaled. Several years ago I noticed it had an abscess. There was also periodic (about once a month) white pus discharge from the gum above. A dentist did a retreatment of the root canal. The pus stopped, however there was still a swelling and the tooth was still giving me problems after a year passed and the swelling remained.
Avatar f tn Hi, I had a laparoscopic cyst removal of a simple cyst 10 days ago and ever since it feels like (sorry but hey) someone's sticking razor blades up my bum!! It hurts when I sit down or if I get wind, or go to the toilet. I'm still pretty swollen with some impressive bruises, and I do have IBS anyway and the cyst was on my left ovary so it's hard to tell what's what. I'm not constipated, I've been taking laxatives at night to make sure.
4704700 tn?1358332970 It depends on whether second molar is salvavle or not. If second molar is hopeless, removal of impacted third molar is probably meaningless.
