My husband has had this spot on his chest going on three years, he will never go see a doctor and now says his lymp nodes under his arms hurt. I have pictures if any one would like to look and beable to help.

First some back story: Cat had an abscess, took it to the vet. The abscess drained, went back to the vet, gave us some antibiotics. After abscess drained, the cat irritated it a bit, a flap of skin came off revealing tissue, and bone on the right of the jaw/mouth. We went back to the vet, said she couldn't bandage it since it's literally on the mouth, and therefore couldn't eat. Also can't stitch since there's no skin to stitch together.

A reddish more than 1 cm less than 1/2 inch blister,boil, abscess or whatever it is on my groin are just above my penis for more than 4 days. for first two day it was relatively smaller and then swollen with fluid like this today. what is it ??

Hello, You have not mentioned the area where you have this pimple, from your symptoms however I would like to rule out the possibility of a boil. A boil, also referred to as a skin abscess, is a localized infection deep in the skin. Apply warm compresses on the boil and keep the area clean. Drainage of the boil is done only when it becomes soft and forms a head. You can apply Neosporin till that time.

Has anyone had this problem? Or does anyone have pictures of how a socket is supposed to look like when it is healing right, and what a dry socket looks like? Please help. I am having such a had time with this pain, being pregnant, and not being able to eat like I am supposed to. Its very difficult. HELP PLEASE!

I have checked in the internet similar pictures which report it as penis cancer due to squamous cells tumor. I went to the dermatologist but he only changed the cream i used before, now one with an antibiotic, and he also took a sample (ouch!!! that hurted as hell!!) to check for bacteria. While I was on interferon therapy and my resistance was low, I developed an abscess on my buttock that was drained and healed. For several months now I have had pain that feels deeper in the tissue, possibly in the ischeum. It has never come to a point and there is no drainage that I can detect. I cannot see any external signs of swelling or redness. Have not been feverish recently. Could this be an ischiorectal abscess or possibly pudental nerve pain?

I had an abscess in my right breast 10 years ago and it left a little lump after it healed. Two weeks ago I developed an abscess in the same spot. My GP recommended a week of antibiotics (Augmentin) and it started to drain on its own two days back. I feel a thickened area which hasn't gone down. Should I be worried? The abscess continues to drain slowly and I have covered it with sterilized gauze. Please help.

Dear Guys, I developed abscess three times with in two weeks interval in my groin area.....the last two were big and required surgery with full ansthesia. My doc therefore suggested to escape the shot at least for one week so i did not take the shot last week. I continued to take it again but I developed another abscess on the preannal position. I am afraid it will force me to discontinue the therapy. Has any one exprienced such problem during therapy?

We took him to the emergency vet, and they kept him a few days and took blood samples and were able to open his jaw to see if he had a tooth abscess and they took xrays also. He was given antibiotics and steroids. They said they couldn't find any cause or problem, and was very frustrating for us because not only was that visit and procedures over $1,000 the swelling is now returning. The swelling did go down while he was on steroids. He is eating and running about normally.

I take cod liver oil with butter oil and try to avoid eating a lot of sugar and refined flour. It looks like it has abscessed in the middle being white and crusty. If someone could please contact me I have pictures for examination. I am so worried about him but he will not go to the doctor. Only thing I could convince him was to put Neosporin on it.

From what you are describing I would think it may be a Bartholin's cyst or abscess. The Bartholin glands are in the lower portion of the vagina and while the cyst isn't supposed to be painful, the abscess is and I would imagine if the cyst were big enough it would hurt. You may want to see your gyn about this. Also you can google Bartholin's cyst and you will get a lot of information.

within three days i was in the hospital for a week, CT scan showed a colon abscess, i dodged emergency surgery and responded to IV antibiotics. now i'm two months out of the hospital and a GI and surgical followup recommends bowel resection. i've read that the bowel does not repair itself. what should i do? also could the abscess have actually been caused by the colonoscopy. thanks.

Although some abscesses CAN be treated at home, I think by far the best thing to do is to take him to the vet as soon as possible. He may need antibiotics. If it is an abscess it will have to be drained fully before any healing takes place, and you do NOT want any infection to spread. Just a question....why does he hardly ever go out?
