Avatar n tn I had an appt with my primary surgeon yesterday because of the back pain and I asked if he received the pathology report. ( For the back pain, he prescribed Soma as a muscle relaxant to use for 3 weeks.
Avatar n tn I have ignored a toothache for a few years due to a fear of dentists (no offense intended) and recently had an abscess diagnosed from a CT scan done for a suspected sinus infection. It turned out to be a very large abscess of 2 teeth, so big, that the dentist and his partner at first told me it was way to big to be an abscess and had to take repeated x-rays to identify it. I am on antibiotics and they told me with a root canal my teeth could be saved.
4279185 tn?1352125277 Root canal failed and i developed an abscess on gum. Dentist at the time said best to leave it. Several years passed, new dentist decided to redo the root canal and perform an apiectomy. One day after stitches came out the familiar pimple was back. Since then i have lived with this infection, every so often i have to forcibly drain it to reduce the swelling and pain.

Avatar n tn I'm hoping you can help me understand my pathology report. Three years ago a had a sergical biopsy that came back fine, and was told to keep up on my yearly mamograms, which I did not. I am 45 yrs.and both of my grandmothers have had breast cancer. I recently had a mamogram wich showed some asymmetry. I had a biopsy and they removed 50x40x20mm specimen. When i had my stiches taken out my surgeon told me I had to come back in six months.
Avatar n tn If there is anyone who has been diagnosed with this size of an adnexal mass and it was proven to be an abscess, I would like to know. Just wondering if an abscess could be this large!
Avatar f tn My dentist took an x-ray of my mouth and found no sign of a tooth abscess, even though when she drilled the infected tooth (which had a filling), there was a foul smell, indicating an abscessed tooth. There is also a swelling below my left jaw, and it is difficult to swallow and open my mouth. The dentist didn't explain much regarding why the x-Ray didn't reflect the tooth abscess. When we asked about the swelling in my jaw, she answered (rather uncertainly) maybe, it was because of trauma?
Avatar f tn Tenderness at the temple could be due to sinusitis, temporal artery inflammation, dental abscess causing referred pain, occipital artery being pressed between vertebrae, giant cell arteritis, or any pathology in eye. It could also be a migraine attack. I think you should discuss this with your doctor. You would need some tests, Xrays, CT Scans etc. to rule out arteritis, inflammation of arteries, abscess and spondylitis of cervical vertebrae.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thanks for the query Neck lumps can be due to lymphadenopathy or any abscess, it can be an indication of any underlying pathology. He needs a detail evaluation by doctor. Without examination of the lumps and some lab investigation data its difficult to come to a diagnosis. So better to consult surgeon and get thoroughly evaluated.
Avatar n tn Hi Severe pain behind the ear might be indicative for pathology in the ear such as an ear abscess (mastoiditis) or it may due to some pathology in the head. I would advise that you seek urgent opinion of doctor/ENT to confirm the diagnosis. An ear abscess is usually caused by bacteria and needs immediate medical attention to avoid complications. Te symptoms include severe throbbing pain, bleeding or discharge of pus from the ear and swelling and redness in and around the ear.
629069 tn?1222791157 Hi Pain or discomfort with a feeling of pressure in the ear may be due to pathology within the ear or outside the ears. The common ear related causes include infection of the middle or internal ear, eustachian tube dysfunction, trauma to the tympanic membrane, acute mastoiditis (abscess), etc. The earache may also be caused as a referred pain, meaning the pathology lies in some other region.

Avatar n tn I had an umbilical hernia removed' on my recheck the doctor broke the news that a small piece had attached to hernia sent to pathology. Avatar n tn Hi. The rash on the scrotum could be anything from benign to something having serious pathology. It is not possible to comment exactly without examination. However the following information would be useful. The rash could as well be due to some inherent testicular condition like a testicular lump. The causes include injury, varicocele, cysts, abscess, lipoma, fibroma, benign tumour, cancer, swollen testicle, syphilis, tuberculosis or mumps.
Avatar f tn Here I am again. One thing after another with me and infections. I had an abscess near the recturm area that had to be cut and drained. The pathology report came back as Klebsiella pneumoniae. I also apparetnly have a bladder infection that was diagnosed when I had a cystoscopy. I am currently on Bactrim for both infections. My question is do I have to worry about the K. pneumoniae spreading and will it go away? Will I need follow up on this infection?
Avatar f tn Your symptoms could be thrombophlebitis ( mondor disease)or you may have a vein or duct inflammation or some other pathology inside the breast, like an abscess or lump You know that nothing can be said for sure over the internet. This problem might not be serious, but please consult your doctor, to find out exactly what's going on okay? All the best to you.
Avatar n tn Went to dentist in the beginning who put me on antibiotics for tooth abscess (don't know if I trust this) and referred me to eneodontist. Endodontiist said that they could not see a reason for a root canal and said to use sensodyne and reevaluate in a month. I still have pain in tooth, gums, ear and jaw. Tooth does not hurt when tapped and is slightly sesitive to temp. Just went to my reg. doctor who said it may be TMJ related and prescribed corticosteroid.
Avatar m tn If so then it could be a skin infection or an abscess. It could also be a lipoma. But to exactly pinpoint the pathology you will need to consult your primary care physician who will examine you and may ask for blood tests. If the need arises he may refer you to a dermatologist. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Has been in pain since the May 08 followup colonoscopy which led to bleeding for 2 days, and then a month of ++ bleeding in September. Severe pain - on Tramal twice per day plus paracetamol 4 x day.
Avatar n tn Lump behind the ear could be an abscess, folliculitis (hair follicle infection), an infected cyst, an inflamed lymph node or a neurofibroma (localized harmless swelling in of nerve and connective tissue). Since there is a swelling in neck, it can be an abscess or an inflamed lymph node. However swollen lymphnodes behind your ears could be due to chest infection, tonsillitis or pharyngitis, dandruff, infection of ear or even metastasis from a cancer. It could also be of tubercular pathology.
Avatar n tn The pain is so intense, I can't sneeze or look right, or even move my head an inch. Could it be an abscess? My throat hurts more than my jaw and I can't tell if it's swollen or what. Could be a lymph node? Hurts to swallow, talk, or anything else that requires me to move my head. The surgery went pretty well without any problems but a week or so later I started to feel that the tooth on the lower left side was still there and hurting just a little bit. Not sure if that helps or not.
Avatar f tn If there is a toothache or gum ache , it could be pulpitis or a periapical abscess and that could be the main cause of all your symptoms. Please go for a dental OPG because sometimes a deep infection may not be visible clinically. Did you have a trauma hurting the tooth long back? An abscess could be a result of that. A normal CT scan rules out a brain pathology. Another possibility could be a spinal nerve impingement in the neck.
Avatar f tn Hi. I have been having upper mouth pain for about 3 days. There is no abscess or infection of my teeth. I went to the dentist 3 weeks ago and was given a clean bill of health. I went to the dentist today and he said he is not sure what is causing the pain. He took a bunch of x-rays, but could find nothing wrong. He said it's not a cracked tooth, cavities, or an abscess. I have already had all my wisdom teeth pulled. Sometimes the pain is also referred to my lower jaw.
Avatar n tn In July 2008, my final visit to the dermatologist, I had a small, fluorescent pink growth examined, removed and biopsied. The pathology lab informed me there was nothing abnormal about the skin. Separately, I developed an anal abscess from a rough episode of anal sex, for which I was treated with antibiotics. I still have scar tissues from this abscess. At some point in 2008, I developed an anal fissure, which seems to disappear, but then immediately opens back up any time I have anal sex.
