1294692 tn?1272400469 What did they do about the abscess last year? It might have caused scarring, and scar tissue (adhesions) on an ovary can hurt like heck when you ovulate. If your doctor suggests it, you might consider removing that ovary. (If there is a lot of complex infection-related residual scarring and so forth there, it's not the best side to ovulate from, anyway, because of the risk of ectopic pregnancy.) If you do remove it, the other ovary would do the work of both.
Avatar n tn Many woman with ovarian problems such as cysts also seem to have bladder or bowel problems, I did and I notice lots on this site do. I had an enlarged uterus too and it was nothing at all. Please try not to panic (so hard to do). When you ovulate, it is normal to have pain so that could be what you are feeling. We women do normally have ov cysts that come and go. Most resolve on their own. 99% of cysts are benign. What is your breast lump like? Is is smooth? Does it move?
Avatar f tn My head is all over the place as I always thought I'd be able to conceive naturally, when it didn't happen my husband and I started checking out IVF, all other tests are good but I've been reading so many different comments about the mis-shapen uterus on the net that I don't know what to think any more. Any advice please?

Avatar n tn Since yesterday I've had a large swollen bump on the labia majora..it's very painful, it hurts to walk or sit. I've been putting warm cloth on it and it seemed to help with the swelling but it's still really painful. I don't really want to go to the doctor because I just don't have the money right now, and I feel like it would be a waste if it's something that I can take care of on my own. Anyone else ever experienced this before? What can I do to ease the pain?
Avatar n tn and have seen many different locations for an abscess on the body and i have to say that the groin area is the most painful and most re-occuring location. I have assisted both Dr.s and P.A.s in lancing(making a small cut into the head of the abscess to release the pus) these painful abscesses. Here's the thing....if you've gotten one before----you're more prone to getting them again....
Avatar n tn differential considerations include endometrioma, ovarian neoplasm, tubo-ovarian abscess, teratoma, or hydrosalpinx/pyosalpinx. 2) Retroflexed leiomyomatous uterus. I am wondering what are my chances of having ovarian cancer in the light of this report?
Avatar n tn Is cancer still a possibility even though the markers were negative? This wait seems very long. Would a tubal ovarian abscess or a hemorrhagic cyst be serious as well? I would not want these things to rupture. This is what the radiology report says: Within the pelvis, the uterus is noted to enhance quite prominently. In the left adnexa a low density structure approximately 3.3 by 1.4 cm in diameter is noted - this may be the left ovary.
1344197 tn?1392822771 Individuals who have IC often have decreased quality of life measures and report adverse affects on leisure activity, family relationships, and travel. The condition is found in women more than men and depressive symptoms are common. While there are a number of diagnostic criteria for IC, there is no agreed upon gold-standard test that reliably makes the diagnosis. IC is therefore mostly a clinical diagnosis based on symptoms and signs, although, a number of tests are helpful.
Avatar n tn What does thickened portion is seen at the fundus of the uterus? 5. What is fundus of the uterus? 6. What is a Nabothian Cyst? 7. What do they mean by, "Nabothian cysts are seen along the cervix?" 8. How many, if any am I supposed to have? 9. Do I need to have these removed? 10.What is causing me to have pain? I am scared to have surgery again, especially in the same area for almost the same thing. Having surgery again within a year just doesn't seem normal.
1310824 tn?1332381229 I also spent 3 days in the hospital at the end of July due to an abcess behind my uterus....I had 2 days of bleeding while in the hospital so I'm not sure if that would be considered a normal cycle or not...Well I went from the first date I started bleeding in June the 20th and since I started my period this morning I seem to be right on track.... I was told to wait 6 months before trying to conceive again but that seems like a lifetime away...
Avatar n tn My left ankle at this time also was starting to hurt. Doctor suggested to take out uterus with fibroids. He thought it was laying on the left side and pushing against arteries/vessels? and aggravating the left sided pain. So had uterus removal. Within a few days of operation, pelvic area started to fill up with fluids. After 5 weeks went for CT scan. This showed huge areas of hyperdense loculated fluid. Kept aspirating fluid but it kept coming back.
Avatar n tn 5 and they even did a cat scan and blood work to check for abscess. Nothing like that was going on. Everything was fine. The last few days I have noticed the hot flashes at night have gotten bad again. Also, during the day I am having the low grade fever again, even movement can elevate it! Right now after going shopping, I just took it and it's 100.3. Yesterday afternoon it went up to 100.3 but was down around 99 without advil or anything within the next two-three hours.
Avatar m tn Hello, An adnexal mass is a lump in tissue of the adnexa of uterus, usually in the ovary or fallopian tube. Adnexal masses can be benign or cancerous. In postmenopausal women, adnexal masses may be caused by cancer, fibroids, fibromas, diverticular abscess. It needs further evaluation by CT scan in your mother’s case. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

Avatar n tn ) is found to be growing outside the uterus, on or in other areas of the body. Normally, the endometrium is shed each month during the menstrual cycle; however, in endometriosis, the misplaced endometrium is usually unable to exit the body. The endometriotic tissues still detach and bleed, but the result is far different: internal bleeding, degenerated blood and tissue shedding, inflammation of the surrounding areas, pain, and formation of scar tissue may result.
Avatar f tn hat was the ovarian cyst? did it have an abscess in it did you have cultures of your uterus or the IUD taken. have you been on antibiotics?
Avatar f tn Did they say anything about adenomyosis (this is basically endometriosis but on different parts of the uterus as opposed to outside the uterus). Also, is this a Gyn or a Gyn/Onc who is evaluating you?
Avatar f tn i am a 44 yr old female, I woke up two days ago and my tongue was numb from mid ways all the way across to the tip, I got the feeling back in my tongue yesterday and I felt a lump on the tip (inside) on the left side, you can not see the lump but I can feel it. On the right side of my neck under my chin close to the jaw bone hurts really bad, it is very tender to touch and it hurts when I swallow.
Avatar f tn There are numerous cysts seen in both breasts ranging in size from 5 to 14 mm on the right and 5 to 11 mm on the left. There is one solid oval nodule at the 1 O'clock position of the left breast measuring 8 x 5 mm in size. This nodule is oval, wider than tall with good through transmission and most likely a benign fibroadenoma or benign intramammary node but should be re-assessed in six month to confirm stability. What is it??
Avatar n tn After a week of agony scans antibiotics painkillers and tubes in my orifices they did exploratory surgery and found I had an abscess on the back of my uterus,my bowels and other organs had been infected by this poison but still to this date they do not know what has caused it. Since being out of hospital I am trying to recover and get back to working and having some kind of semblance of a normal life.
Avatar n tn Its possible to have a natural delivery. It is only necessary to do a c-section if you have a scar on your uterus--not your abdominal wall. We don't usually recommend pregnancy until you have leveled out on the weight loss. Also, it will be very important to take your vitamins because there can be some absorption issues after this type of surgery. The surgery is great for fertilty though--often after significant weight loss, the periods resume and women begin ovulating again.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know how common or uncommon it is for a younger woman to have both enlarged ovaries and uterus? Are cysts more common than other things that cause the enlargement? Im only 25 years old and Im scared. I see doc next monday. Also for breast lump. I also had an abscess drained in my colon recently, and from what ive read there is a relation between ovarian problems and intestinal problems. Im a wreck. Im really scared.
3183753 tn?1344639044 She told me that with endometriosis I should only have cramping during my cycle and she thought that it was strange that I had cramping and pain every day along with the discharge, that she did comment on. So, I wondered if maybe it's not endometriosis? Is there something else that I can ask about? The exam that she did was VERY painful. The findings from my ultra sound are as follows.

Avatar n tn And what is the difference in having a mass behind the uterus, than having one on your ovary? This may seem dumb, but it doesnt really mention my ovaries except that they are not seen with certainty. How can you do an ultrasound for this and not see them with certainty?
Avatar n tn Around 6 wks after my hysterectomy, I began experiencing like something was sitting on my spine. I have endometriosis and some scar adhesions. It felt like something was pressing on my nerves. I had tingling etc. Before my hysto, I had a large fibroid removed, it was pressing on my descending colon. This was a myomectomy. They removed my uterus and then replaced it. Ever since that surgery I had a knot like feeling in that same area I had a deep nagging before.
