abscess on my gums

I noticed a small pimple like thing on my upper gums last week, it has poped twice but filled back up again like a pimple you would get on your face, it was painfull the first couple of days but is no longer painful.

I had an abscess on my gums. I started on keflex and scheduled a root canal ASAP. After the root canal and finishing the keflex the abscess was still there. My endontist downplayed it like it's no big deal but he drained the abcess and put me on clymdamycin. Finished all the clymdamycin and the abscess is still there. Endontist says it could take months to heal and sent me on my way. I feel like I need a second opinion. I still have a pea sized abscess on my gums idk what to do.

Yesterday I noticed a redish purple spot on my upper gums. It is not painful, just kind of ugly. I don't remember hurting it in any way. I brush and floss regualrly, and have also been to the dentist in the past few months. Is this something to be worried about? Or just wait for it to go away? I'm away at school, so my dentist is about an hour and a half away.

i have what looks like a white head or pimple on my gums above my front left tooth. i pushed my nail against it and the top of it cam off leaving a little red blood spot. does anyone know what this is and what causes it.

A few months ago I had a tooth infection on my lower back molar. I was told I need a root canal and given antibiotics. After the infection cleared up and stopped hurting I forgot about it, with the intention of eventually going back and getting it taken care of. Well now I have a painless lump on the outside gum right below that tooth. It seems to have appeared over night. I thought I felt food in there and noticed it. It feels like a blister but doesn't hurt at all.

so a long time ago i had this indention on my cheek the size of an eraser & then one day a small lump appered now another one has come up & now they are both the size of marbles the last one has been there 4 about 6-12 months , i had a nasty cavity extracted about 2 years ago , n since my molers have broke threw as they were embeded in my gums dont know if that may be a connection ? the lumps move n seem to be in between skin , more annoying and are getting more noticeable .

You need to run a test for moniliasis to rule this out. It could also be due to caries in tooth, abscess in gums, pyorrhea, abscess in cheek, or infection of internal ear. It could also be due to osteomyelitis of the jaw bone or due to involvement of temporomandibular joint. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. You would need to consult a dentist and an ENT specialist for this. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Before my insurance lapsed I was able to get on amoxicilin for a gum abscess. Well it burst today with 4 days left on prescription. I drained all I could and still have swelling in my cheek and gums. Thoughts as I have no insurance til 5/11/17?

I also wanted to add that I don't see any pus sack on my gums or cheek but there is some white stuff that looks like it could be an abscess inbetween my tooth and gums. The dentist hasn't seen me since my cheek swelled up and won't beable to until the 10th. thanks, again.

Hey, I have a lower mandibular bar that is like everyone's, fuzes to my canines. Well I usually chew my nails and put the nail underneath the bar and throughout the embrasure of the teeth. Well I did that and it was between 22 and 23 and it kind of hurt and like I need the nail out of there so I just pulled it through and it kind of scratched the gum line. It was sore, but now out of no where a very small abscess has formed.

Yes it still could be. Try cleaning the area out as much as you can with floss, brushing and mouthwash gently. But I would still recommend seeing a dentist in case there's something causing it. I had a patient once who had a spacer stuck under the gums and that cause pain and swelling. I'm pretty sure the mom had a talk with their orthodontist later on.

The other day I noticed that on the inner part, near the right side of the roof of my mouth, there was a slight, hard bump slightly above my crown (right molar). Apply a hot compress to draw the abscess to the surface. If there is no broken skin on the abscess, you can purchase magnesium sulphate from the pharmacy and apply this to the abscess. This is a drawing ointment and can only be used on unbroken skin. Whilst you are taking the antibiotics, it would be advisable not to smoke the cannabis. Make an appointment to see the doctor to be timed when you complete the course of antibiotics.

I know that sounds gross but once you can do that, it will help the pain immensely. My friend got prescribed Penicillin on Friday and immediately he was able to express the area daily and it is feeling so much better. Look up dental abscess online to learn more and good luck!

Hi, I a whitish looking patch behind my last molar on my left side. it is swollen and I can feel the tension when I bite down from my teeth on top. My wisdom tooth is the one in front of the white patch. My wisdom tooth is pulled to the front from my braces after losing a tooth from a previous accident. Thank you for your help. Could be anything from mild gingivitis, food getting stuck in the gums to an abscess of some sort. Its hard to say. You should go to your dentist and get it checked out.

I have a swollen area on my gums above a tooth that needs to be pulled. The pain isn't hardly there as far as the tooth but when I push on my cheek, I feel the swelling like a bump and it is like it is at the top of my gums. Any idea what this is?
