The back of my two bottom teeth are peeling off at the gum. If I took my fingernail, I could pull part of my tooth off. I can't see back there to see what is happening and it doesn't hurt. Help!
No apparent necrosis, but the fingernail has separated and also *appears* to be infected with fungus. She has had IV antibiotics twice as well as antibiotic and antifungal pills, and it was non-responsive to the drugs. Tested negative for MRSA. Finger hurts and is pinkish-red. It is dry with no discharge.
I have done some research and searched the forums but I could not find a similar question. The stripper sucked on the fingernail with the small cut and I was wondering what are the chances of contracting anything even if I my cut had blood or no blood? I know contracting HIV is not possible from what I am describing, but what about other STDs? Thank you in advance!
When i tap on them with my fingernail, even with the temporary crowns on, i feel a little bit of sensitivity/pain. It is not excruciating by any means, but those 2 teeth are definitely more sensitive than any of my other teeth. My question is whether this is common and will subside, or if this is a sign that something may be wrong and i have reason to be concerned and possibly wait on the perma crowns? Thanks.
It sounds like you might have been poked with something and it got infected. I I would see your doctor. The color change is not good, especially if it is getting black or dark. The only thing you can try at home if it has an opening put 3% hydrogen peroxide and then let dry then triple antibiotic ointment. If that doesn't get better you need to see your doctor. If you see red streaks go to the doctor if they are open or to the ER.
Judging by your description, it is most likely a fistula which is a tract that forms from the abscess of your infected tooth that escapes out to the gums. As long as the fistula in intact, your abscess can drain and slow down the spread of the abscess but if the fistula closes up, the abscess can spread rapidly through your face or neck area.
I would recommend seeing a dentist and getting treatment started.

I am 40 yrs old male .i had an abscess on my right hip i consult the doctor ,he suggest me an antibiotic twice for four days.after 3-4 days another abscess develop just 10mm above and again after 2-3 days 10mm another abscess develop but i am taking antibiotic regularly .what are the reason of repeating abscess & what is the permanent treatment to get rid of these.
This may probably be a stupid question but if you get somebody's blood on the area where the skin ends and fingernail starts (healthy skin) is there a higher risk?

3 days ago I competed in a bicycle race (not sure if this is connected to my situation) and a few hours after the event I noticed a small lump on my buttocks quite close to my anus. they did a ct and found out that it was an abscess. it was 1 inch by 3/8 inch big. they gave me iv rocephin and drained the abscess. they put me on 250mg of keflex 4 x a day and 300mg of clindamycin 4 x a day for the next 10 days. talked to my dentist this morning and have a follow up appt. with him on weds. then if all goes well i will hopefully get the tooth that is causing all of this pulled next week.
There was no liquid from hsv2 on the zipper but can the virus still transfer from the hand to zipper to underneath fingernail with no liquid? Can the virus get underneath fingernails, are there any "opening" under the nail to let the virus in?
