Avatar n tn My dog has about a 1.5" round lump on her abdomen on one side. It is not firm, very soft. There are darker spots on it, and it has yellow crust on it. 2071635 tn?1334550079 I can see and feel a slight lump on my lower right abdomen, just right of my navel. It hurts occasionally. What might this be? Is it something to be worried about?
Avatar n tn I won't go into all of the details but basically after almost a month of stomach pain, nausea, loss of appetite, fatigue, etc. it was discovered by way of CT scan and transvaginal ultrasound that I have an abscess on my right ovary due to a ruptured ovarian cyst. They put me on a seven day cycle of two strong antibiotics and said I should be feeling better within a few days. The thing is tomorrow will be my last day of being on the antibiotics and I'm still not feeling great.
1294692 tn?1272400469 What did they do about the abscess last year? It might have caused scarring, and scar tissue (adhesions) on an ovary can hurt like heck when you ovulate. If your doctor suggests it, you might consider removing that ovary. (If there is a lot of complex infection-related residual scarring and so forth there, it's not the best side to ovulate from, anyway, because of the risk of ectopic pregnancy.) If you do remove it, the other ovary would do the work of both.
Avatar n tn I am 26 and underwent an oophorectomy on may 4th and my right ovary and tube had to be removed as i was diagonised with Tubo Ovarian abscess. The only symptom / problem i had was frequent high fever, high WBC count, general weakness. There was also a v.v. mild pain in the right abdomen. The Sonography revealed the presence of a TOA which was then confirmed by a CT scan. 4 months back, during my routine sonography, 2 cysts each of 4 to 5 cms were seen in my right ovary.

Avatar f tn I also had surgical stitches come out of a pimple like infection on my abdomen. Answer- your body is pushing out the (foreign) stitch so it causes the abscess to expel the stitch. Once stitch was removed, infection cleared up fast.

579258 tn?1250652943 Woke up at 4 am and noticed an area on my abdomen, below the lowest of the four previous abscesses, that is the size of a pencil eraser. Not too big yet, but definitely abscess .. and hurts. Since I have been on antibiotics since the first week in May, this really should not be happening. Decided to go to the ER, where they know what this is, and beat the 8 am rush. The doctor who was the one who made the correct diagnosis, nocardiosis, is the one I was fortunate enough to see.

Avatar f tn My fiance has had moderate pain in his lower right abdomen for about 6 weeks now. He says the pain is worse when he's been sitting for a while, but is not dependent on the food he eats. His doctors is very inattentive and it's preventing him from going back after his last appointment. He had a chest X-ray to see if it was a muscle or skeletal problem, but the X-ray showed nothing abnormal.

Avatar n tn A prostatic massage, where fluid can be sent for culture and analysis, as well as a transrectal ultrasound can be done to exclude infection or an abscess. Otherwise, imaging of the pelvis can be done to exclude a hernia or abscess. These options can be discussed with your personal physician or in conjunction with a urologist. Followup with your personal physician is essential.

Avatar f tn I have been have pain on the left side of my Abdomen for approx 2 years. First the doctor said it was IBS,but in January after a bad attach and going to emergency, they said I have a blocked bowel and I was in the hospital for three days. After being release from the hospital, they ran all kinds of test, Upper GI, CAT Scan and found nothing to have caused the blockage or pain. I have a Colonoscopy two years ago, so they saw no need to do that test again.
