Avatar f tn Has anyone seen the video on youtube called Hepatitis c From A to Z? It's kind of long but seems to have some good info. But since I'm new to this thought I'd check here to get your opinion.
Avatar f tn More specifically it is called Amoebic Liver Abscess. The abscess, if it is one, is relative small and can be cured by antibiotics. No need to go in for aspiration. It is 100% curable. Also go in for a blood test along with a liver function test to test the levels of the enzymes. But, FIRST consult a good gastroenterologist. I wouldnt worry if I were you.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with an abscess and given clindamycin HCl 300 mg yesterday. Today it was naturally draining on its own but due to where it is located I can't cover it so I couldn't let it continue draining. I ended up pushing/squeezing it too help drain it and a ton of stuff came out (sorry for that nasty imagery). Is this unsafe? Is it possible that I push the infection deeper?
Avatar m tn The fact that your son does not have any respiratory problems or other signs of illness is reassuring, and probably indicates that the current antibiotic treatment is at least keeping the liver abscess from getting worse, and may be adequately treating the abscess. Over time, the CRP should continue to drop as the infection is treated.
Avatar f tn I've had an abscess (it's draining and draining and draining) for about 10 years, but it hasn't gone away totally yet, but it's much better than it was initially. I take cod liver oil with butter oil and try to avoid eating a lot of sugar and refined flour. I do have high blood pressure which I heard that it may be caused by a long term infection, so it's something to watch out for. That is SO great your abscess has healed!
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a small hole on each side of my ear and the one on my right ear is the active one that secretes white stuff that smell pretty bad. So I watched a video on youtube about preauricular sinus infection and I learned that it could lead to the formation of abscess. When I was young, I didn't know what the hole was and I often got very irritated with it when it had secretions.

1063386 tn?1287878569 I happened to be playing around and found chiari on YouTube. There are soo many videos. And than fuethur into my investigation I found most med students in basic med schools have to do presentations on chiari and related conditions now. I thought what a huge victory this might be for all of us and for future suffers with med schools no longer throwing a few paragraphs our way. Go to YouTube and type in chiari.

Avatar m tn Dear Guys, I developed abscess three times with in two weeks interval in my groin area.....the last two were big and required surgery with full ansthesia. My doc therefore suggested to escape the shot at least for one week so i did not take the shot last week. I continued to take it again but I developed another abscess on the preannal position. I am afraid it will force me to discontinue the therapy. Has any one exprienced such problem during therapy?
Avatar m tn Ultrasound my body for the liver location between the chest and stomach. Unlike YouTube, the radiologist did not go through the right side of my body but got my liver biopsy sample from top of my abdominal and just under my breast bone. Local numbing shot then made a tiny cut to put the building tube, felt a sharp pressure pain, then biopsy needle through the tube 3 times. Belt like somebody punched me in my gut, but pain only lasted three seconds each time. Then it was over.
Avatar f tn They had to remove a portion of my liver with the tumor. I have been having extreme pain on my right side by my liver. I got a CT scan & they found a lot of scar tissue on my liver & they also found a cyst. Could the scar tissue and/or cyst be causing that pain?
Avatar f tn I was wondering if you know why you developed the abscess to start with? Have you had recent liver/gallbladder surgery, or hepatitis A,B, or C? You should be having Liver function tests being done to track your progress, and if you haven't, get tested for Hepatitis C. If your liver was simply inflamed from the infection, it should reduce in size eventually (since the infection is gone) unless you have an underlying problem like cirrhosis. I hope this answers your question a little...
Avatar f tn Was told my gallbladder looks normal ( had ct scan with contrast injection) but was asked to come back for an ultrasound I did, which apparently showed enlarged bile ducts, Doc ordered a MRCT which apparently showed multiple liver cysts I am currently waiting for an appt. with a Gastroenterologist, which while frustrating for me seems to be not such a big deal to the docs. Any ideas on what may be going on for me? Can liver cysts be the cause of my symptoms?
Avatar m tn Abscesses can also affect the brain, kidneys, liver (hepatic abscess), lungs, teeth (dental abscess), and tonsils (peritonsillar abscess). Inflammation surrounding hair follicles can lead to the formation of abscesses. Skin abscesses are often referred to as boils. Unlike other infections, antibiotics alone will not cure an abscess. In general, abscesses must open and drain to improve.
Avatar n tn Just had my third surgery due to abscess about a month and a half ago, and for the past few weeks have had this strange pain. Any pain that seems to be in the area of the rectum, makes me leary of abscesses, but this is different. The pain is in the left gluteus, into the bend of my hip, as well as the rectum. Seems that sitting worsens things, and I have been trying to sit/lie to my right to accomodate, but the pain never entirely goes away.
Avatar n tn I have hepatitis B and have an abscess in my liver. My doctor is monitoring my ALT and the number was down to 80 from 200. Does that mean I have an acute hepatitis B? If my ALT would normalize does it mean I have chronic hepatitis B?
Avatar m tn 5cm size collection seen in right psoas abscess. At before test of MRI at operation time it was found aaprox 11.0*4.5*5.0 cm size of psoas abscess was noted.
