Avatar f tn More specifically it is called Amoebic Liver Abscess. The abscess, if it is one, is relative small and can be cured by antibiotics. No need to go in for aspiration. It is 100% curable. Also go in for a blood test along with a liver function test to test the levels of the enzymes. But, FIRST consult a good gastroenterologist. I wouldnt worry if I were you.
3072999 tn?1356414732 Hi Tink, I am actually a medical coder for a hospital -the ICD-10 code would be G93.5. The ICD-9 code is 384.4. Since ICD-9 is not very specific they may have put a I after to show it is a Chiari Malformation type 1. In ICD-10 it is more specific - G93.5 states Chiari Malformation 1. So I am assuming since the ICD-9 code of 384.4 just states compression of brain they had to add a 1 so it was more specific for their notes.
Avatar f tn I am going to do a preliminary exploration of the changing incidence of hepatitis B, and C and liver cirrhosis across several years of data in US. I wonder if you agree with me that ICD-9 codes 070.2 , 0703, 07042,07052 for Hep B and 070.41, 070.44,07051,070 54 for hepatitis C are the only ones that purely specify these infections. At this stage, the estimations are not going to be done. Also, I need to say that I have yet to see the literature on this.
2059648 tn?1439766665 They used the commercial PharMetrics database and the Medicare database to identify HCV patients with and without ALD, using International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Edition (ICD-9) codes. Future ALD prevalence was projected using progression and mortality trends from these databases. The number of patients diagnosed with ALD was tallied over a 3-year interval. Of the 1.1 million patients diagnosed with HCV infection, 16.1% were 16 to 44 years of age, 38.
Avatar m tn Got back home and we started to organize stuff for dinner and I felt my chest going biserk and then ...SHOCK. My ICD shocked me and since then I have felt normal but very unstable in the heart. Slept horribly due to that welling feeling in the chest ...arrythmia? I have measured my pressure and pulse when I feel like something is going on and occasionally the pressure has been as high as 133/88 with a pulse of 47 and as low as 87/48 with a 55 pulse. I am on beta blockers (sotalol and coreg).
Avatar f tn I've had an abscess (it's draining and draining and draining) for about 10 years, but it hasn't gone away totally yet, but it's much better than it was initially. I take cod liver oil with butter oil and try to avoid eating a lot of sugar and refined flour. I do have high blood pressure which I heard that it may be caused by a long term infection, so it's something to watch out for. That is SO great your abscess has healed!

Avatar f tn I never saw that kind of reaction in my Dad after his ICD fired off. And at one point his ICD was firing off a few times a week (he was slipping into end stage heart failure). I think he should go back in and be checked. Something is going on and it's more than a bit of depression over being shocked. You might ask them to check his other body parts like lungs, liver and intestines. They tend to focus on the heart and forget there are other parts than can become sick.
Avatar f tn My 9 month old cat recently had an abscess that burst on his side. I took him to the vet two days ago and he was put on amoxicillin. Today, right next to the burst abscess there is another abscess formed. There are not visible wounds so there is nowhere to drain from. He does not feel warm to touch on his nose or his ears. The vet is closed for two days and there are no emergency clinics near me. Please offer advice on how to help my Oliver.

Avatar m tn The later ICDs are more sophisticated and do a better of of identifying V-tach correctly and attempt to pace me out of V-tach before shocking. In the course of replacing tone ICD, I got an infection and the ICD and leads had to be removed and placed on the right side. Through all of this, I continued to exercise, but gave up competitive racing. In the last couple years, the V-tach returned about 1 or 2 times per month.
Avatar m tn A few days ago I had my ICD turned off. Have had it in place for four years and have hated every second. Am now looking into having the control unit removed. Does anyone know how difficult this is to have done. My Dr. does not want me to have it removed and even wants me to turn it back on. It has gone off once, bit my tongue almost off and broke a tooth. Enough already.
Avatar m tn Dear Guys, I developed abscess three times with in two weeks interval in my groin area.....the last two were big and required surgery with full ansthesia. My doc therefore suggested to escape the shot at least for one week so i did not take the shot last week. I continued to take it again but I developed another abscess on the preannal position. I am afraid it will force me to discontinue the therapy. Has any one exprienced such problem during therapy?
