Avatar n tn I had an abscess in my sigmoid colon and was treated with antibiotics . The abscess was drained over a month period and caused another infection along my abdominal wall which caused me to need surgery to clear out old blood and a clot that was causing it. GEEEZZZ! Anyway, during my hospital stay and over the course of about 3 months Ive had 5 CT scans (pelvic and abdominal), ultrasound and transvaginal ultrasound.
Avatar f tn I have what they call a bi-cornuate uterus which basically means that there is a divide in my uterus (pretty much what you have). I did not find this out until I was pg for the 2nd time (the first ended in m/c). This has not impacted on me being able to conceive as I have had 3 pregnancies and one successful birth. When i had all my ulstrasounds I was told that as you get further and bigger into your pregnancy, the line in the middle will move to make room for the baby.
Avatar f tn Hello,2 weeks ago i had done biopsy of my uterus. Since that i have a unbearable pain in that area, sometimes depens on the day activity can hardly sleep or walk or stand for longer. It gets worse in the evening and also my belly start to get bigger like swollen in the afternoon. After 1 week of these symptoms they gave me Doxycycline 100mg, which didn't really help. Today 2 weeks later after all day in hospital have exactly the same symptoms like right after the biopsy!
Avatar f tn I had a labial abscess, but after getting it drained I now have abdominal pain in my uterus and ovary areas. It really hurts when I cough. Has anyone had this?
Avatar f tn They found Endo, a cyst on my fallopian tube and a polyp in the middle of my uterus. I have VERY painful and heavy periods, I hurt before, during and after I start my period. My pain is always in my lower stomach, lower back, hips, ovaries and sometimes vaginal pains and of course sex was always painful. I also have pains sometimes during bowel movements. Enough about me lol, have you talked to your dr. about possible endo? I'd definitely find someone who listens to me and will help.
Avatar m tn Hello, An adnexal mass is a lump in tissue of the adnexa of uterus, usually in the ovary or fallopian tube. Adnexal masses can be benign or cancerous. In postmenopausal women, adnexal masses may be caused by cancer, fibroids, fibromas, diverticular abscess. It needs further evaluation by CT scan in your mother’s case. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
1361959 tn?1277687317 Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, constipation, ovary involvement in women, ectopic pregnancy in women, mesentry (a thin tissue that carries the blood, nerves and lymphatics for the intestine) involvement, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle can all cause lower right abdomen pain. Hence these causes should be eliminated by a CT scan of the abdomen. Crohn’s disease is a difficult entity to diagnose.
Avatar f tn Findings are most consistent with a large hemorrhagic left ovarian cyst with evidence for recent cyst partial cyst rupture/hemorrhage with complex fluid surrounding the uterus and left ovary with small amount in the cul-de-sac. Findings similar to preceding CT study. 2. Other differential considerations include tubo-ovarian abscess or large endometrioma/fibroma.
1344197 tn?1392822771 The second theory suggests that other disease processes such as endometriosis, irritable bowel syndrome and fibromyalgia irritate nerves in the pelvis that innervate the bladder. The theory suggests irritation of these nerves results in chronic bladder pain. J.
Avatar n tn Within the pelvis, the uterus is noted to enhance quite prominently. In the left adnexa a low density structure approximately 3.3 by 1.4 cm in diameter is noted - this may be the left ovary. The uterus is desplaced anteriorly and to the left and the rectum to the left by a large low density mass in the right adnexa. This mass is 11 by 5 cm in diameter. It has a discernible wall and a somewhat heterogenous internal appearance with high and low density areas that are intermingled.
Avatar n tn In fact, some women who have trouble conceiving and are suspected to have chlamydia are able to become pregnant after treatment for chlamydial infection. And in general any infection in the uterus is potentially harmful to an early pregnancy--although I am not aware chlamydia has been shown to be a problem at that stage. If a woman still has chlamydia late in pregnancy (or if she acquires it during pregnancy), the baby can get infection of the eyes or pneumonia.
Avatar n tn told me caused scar tissue in my uterus and I had surgery to have it removed. Two weeks ago I went to my Dr. because my back and pelvic area pain was intolerable. Once again he said I had inflamation in my cervix. I had a pelvic ultrasound done on the 9/19 and these were my results: Transabdominal and transvaginal images of the pelvis performed. Uterus is normal measuring 10x4x6 cm. Endometrial stripe is midly thickened at 12mm, however, this is homogeneous in appearance.
1310824 tn?1332381229 I also spent 3 days in the hospital at the end of July due to an abcess behind my uterus....I had 2 days of bleeding while in the hospital so I'm not sure if that would be considered a normal cycle or not...Well I went from the first date I started bleeding in June the 20th and since I started my period this morning I seem to be right on track.... I was told to wait 6 months before trying to conceive again but that seems like a lifetime away...

Avatar n tn ) is found to be growing outside the uterus, on or in other areas of the body. Normally, the endometrium is shed each month during the menstrual cycle; however, in endometriosis, the misplaced endometrium is usually unable to exit the body. The endometriotic tissues still detach and bleed, but the result is far different: internal bleeding, degenerated blood and tissue shedding, inflammation of the surrounding areas, pain, and formation of scar tissue may result.
Avatar n tn I think it is pelvic inflammatory disease which is causing pain in the lower abdomen after urination and after sex. But it is difficult to say without physical examination. Pelvic inflammatory disease is a term for inflammation of the female uterus, fallopian tubes, and/or ovaries as it progresses to scar formation with adhesions to nearby tissues and organs. This may lead to tissue necrosis and sometimes abscess formation.
Avatar f tn hat was the ovarian cyst? did it have an abscess in it did you have cultures of your uterus or the IUD taken. have you been on antibiotics?
900045 tn?1241931848 urinary bladder infection or cystitis, pyelonephriits (kidney infection), pelvic abscess, appendicitis, ovarian cyst, peritonitis, or infection of the uterus (metritis). All are emergency situations and you must seek medical help ASAP. Having said that I would also say it could simply be gas or acidity or irritable bowel. However you cannot ignore the symptoms. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Maybe you can seek another opinion or visit ER.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am 41 years of age. I have a complete hysterectomy... ovaries, uterus, cervix, tubes all taken out back in October 2012. I am not on any hormone replacement therapy. I am still suffering from hot flashes and severe dryness everywhere. I am also getting a low grade temperature from time to time. Back around November, it was around 100-100.5 and they even did a cat scan and blood work to check for abscess. Nothing like that was going on. Everything was fine.
Avatar n tn From the Ct scan, the mass could be an ovary, a fallopian tube, a growth off the uterus, bladder or bowel. It could be a benign tumor, an abscess, or a malignant tumor. The next step is to have this mass removed. I would reccomend a gyn oncologist - not because I think it is malignant but because gyn oncologists have alot more surgical experience than general gynecologists.
Avatar f tn It's like the breast equivalent of the fibroids we get in our uterus. The intramammary node, I'm guessing, is some sort of lymph node? Google both terms and see what you come up with. I had a giant breast cyst rupture and abscess last summer, but even after it was mostly resolved, I continued having breast pain. My doctor explained that the location of the cyst was probably near or pressing on a nerve ending. Mine felt at times like a stabbing pain, others a dull ache (like a letdown reflex).
Avatar n tn I have had bariatric surgery (Duodenal Switch) that was done open vertically roughly 8 inches in length and recently had a twisted bowel that they had to go back in and repair with the same line. My concern is pregnancy - my husband and I are planning to try come January and was curious if it's possible to deliver naturally after 2 surgeries where my abdomen was cut...or if a C-Section will be required. I would appreciate any insight.
Avatar n tn After a week of agony scans antibiotics painkillers and tubes in my orifices they did exploratory surgery and found I had an abscess on the back of my uterus,my bowels and other organs had been infected by this poison but still to this date they do not know what has caused it. Since being out of hospital I am trying to recover and get back to working and having some kind of semblance of a normal life.
Avatar f tn Did they say anything about adenomyosis (this is basically endometriosis but on different parts of the uterus as opposed to outside the uterus). Also, is this a Gyn or a Gyn/Onc who is evaluating you?
Avatar n tn In my opinion I would say it's more common for younger women (those prior to menopause) to get ovarian cysts because they are ovulating every month, but older women get them as well and it's not unusual. Please don't worry the majority of cysts and changes that occur are completely harmless and you'll find the wonderful ladies here have either been or are going through the same concerns and anxieties, so we all know exactly how you are feeling.
Avatar n tn They told me I had a large cystic mass on the Uterus. Then Monday they called back and said the Doctor was back in the office and now wants me to have an endoscopy done. I am still having the pains and the low grade temp. I can eat only veggies, fruits or liquids. If I eat anything else like meat or even any dairy product I get pains and then have to use a laxative. Its now been 2 months with all the tests. How long does it take for doctors to diagnose a problem?
Avatar f tn i am a 44 yr old female, I woke up two days ago and my tongue was numb from mid ways all the way across to the tip, I got the feeling back in my tongue yesterday and I felt a lump on the tip (inside) on the left side, you can not see the lump but I can feel it. 3183753 tn?1344639044 I have had cramping and pms symptoms for two months. No bleeding in between periods, but a clear discharge which is new to me and happens daily. My period happens and then I think the pms is will finally be over and it's not. The next day I have cramps, pain, discharge, tender breasts, emotional, and back pain. My doctor ordered me to have a vaginal ultrasound and the radiologist told me to see a gynecologist.
